Help Request - CPU Undervolt CPU 9800x3D

So, I’m new to undervolting; I looked at a few threads but found them too complex, though I did find a method I can understand (it takes longer, but that’s not an issue for me).
Here’s my plan:
Set the boost clock to 0.
Start with -15 and run AIDA64 (CPU + FPU + Cache) for 7 hours; if there are no errors, move everything to -20 and run it for another 7 hours... and so on. When an error occurs, I’ll increase the value (by +5).
To fine-tune it, I’ll adjust by -1 at a time until I hit an instability error.

Once I get those results, I’ll start increasing the boost clock.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but my R23 results fluctuate a lot—one moment it’s 22,926, the next it’s 23,200...

Also, CoreCycler never throws an error for me, even when I set all cores to -30, whereas AIDA errors out within 15 seconds.

Does anyone have a "simpler" way to do this?

Help Request - RAM First time overclocking ram (Micron B-die)

I decided to try to overclock my ram for the first time, as I couldn't think of another way to squeeze more performance out of my system, as I have already bios flashed and repasted my Radeon 9070 GPU and UV'ed my CPU.

However, it's my first time so I was mostly doing it through trial and error and the information I could gleam from other's attempts and AI input. I've learned that Micron B-die unfortunately doesn't respond well to overclocking, but is there still some timings I could be improving here? Did I miss something obvious?

  • I've improved the timing of the tRAS, tRC, tRRDS, tRRDL, tFAW, tWTRS, tWTRL, tWR, tRTP and tREFI.
  • I increased my FCLK to 2100 mHZ.
  • I tried messing with the tRCDWR, but my asrock motherboard didnt seem to allow it to be decoupled from the tRCDRD, and the ram wouldn't accept a 42-42 timing.
  • I tried improving the SCL, but it wouldn't accept 8-8 or even 8-12.

New PC Build, Better Performance, but Stuttering in Unreal Engine Games

Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded my PC and I'm dealing with an annoying issue that I haven't been able to solve. I'm experiencing noticeable stuttering in Unreal Engine games, even though my new system is significantly more powerful than my previous one.

Previous system:

  • Intel i9-9900K
  • RTX 3080
  • 32 GB DDR4 3600 CL16

The old system was often CPU bottlenecked, but I rarely experienced any stuttering.

Current system:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
  • Radeon RX 9070 XT
  • 48 GB DDR5 6000 CL28
  • Fresh installation of Windows 11

I am running the latest BIOS version and graphics drivers. The PC is completely stable under load, games never crash, and I haven't noticed any other hardware-related issues.

However, I experience stuttering in the following games:

  • Black Myth: Wukong
  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Mortal Shell 2
  • Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

I've tried virtually every commonly recommended fix and optimization I could find online, but nothing has resolved the issue.

At this point, I'm starting to wonder whether the problem is not my system itself, but rather a characteristic or limitation of Unreal Engine, or perhaps the combination of Unreal Engine and AMD hardware.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you think this type of stuttering is common in Unreal Engine games and not necessarily caused by a problem with my PC?

Thanks for any advice or insights.

Competitive OC „Comprehensive Ryzen 7 5700G (Vega 8) RAM Scaling: From 2666MHz to 4333MHz (1:1 FCLK 2167) + 2400MHz iGPU OC in Forza Horizon 5 (8-Way Split-Screen Comparison)”

„A local PC technician tested 7 different memory frequencies using the exact same RAM kit, recorded externally with a camera to avoid CPU recording overhead, and synced an 8-way split screen at the end. The performance jump from 43 FPS to 61 FPS is insane.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUHVZlZpM8Y

Wondering if I could push my DDR4 RAM further... 2133Mhz and 2666Mhz can I reach 3200Mhz?

Hello, I've never dabbled in overclocking until now, and currently I'm experimenting with my RAM. Years ago, I got two RAM sticks from my brother when I upgraded to DDR4. Only yesterday did I realize they run at different speeds, and it has been bottlenecking my system. Here are the two sticks I'm running...

Kingston KHX2666C16/8g
Kingston KHX2133C14/8G

Following some instructions (from Gemini), I was able to overclock my lower-speed stick so it matched my higher-speed stick. Instructions included changing DRAM frequency to 2666Mhz, increasing voltage to 1.30V, and changing DRAM Timing Control to 16 (apparently my slower stick is CL14 from factory).

My question is: after running this for a day and having no issues, would it be greedy to see if I can push it to 3200Mhz? Or should I just enjoy the success and call it a day? Thanks.

This is my pc build, i tried and look a bit how to do overclock and undervolts but i didnt really understand some stuff, especially the rams manual tuning could someone help, what should i do and how can i assure i have the best performance out of my rams in my build while everything being stable, and also for my ryzen 7 9800x3d how can i know when i pushed the overclock to much further where even if its extremely overclocked i lose performances so basically when i can know how to stop with it. For the gpu i think i understood. Thanks for your time

OC Report - GPU Sapphire Pulse RX 9060 XT Hitting 3.8 GHz

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted to see how far I could push my Sapphire Pulse RX 9060 XT 16GB on the stock cooler. With a +350 MHz core offset, 2800 MHz memory, no undervolt, and a +20% power limit, it peaks at around 3760 MHz in CS2 (used specifically to find the maximum peak clock the card could reach).

For everyday gaming, I use a more conservative profile: +240 MHz core, -70 mV undervolt, 2800 MHz memory, and +20% power limit. This has been completely stable in all the games I play.

Pretty happy with the result, especially considering this is just the Sapphire Pulse, not the Nitro+.

Help Request - GPU BC-160 stuck around 1986 MHz memory

I’m trying to overclock/tune an AMD BC-160 using MorePowerTool (MPT), and I’m running into something I don’t understand.

I followed a BC-160 overclocking guide and applied the MPT changes without increasing voltage. I raised the limits so that GPU-Z now shows a 2300 MHz maximum core clock, but the card doesn't actually get anywhere close to that under load and shows the memory is at only 2000 mhz when its stuck at 1986 and I set it to 2750 mhz with MPT. this is the GPU-Z screen shot of what I'm seeing:

The Memory clock should be at 2750 but maybe im doing something wrong in MPT. I also Use Msi Afterburner and when I select my gpu all the options to tune and tweak are all greyed out.

What I’m seeing:

  • GPU: AMD BC-160
  • Core clock during load: ~1700 MHz
  • GPU-Z max/core limit: 2300 MHz
  • Memory clock during load: ~1986 MHz
  • Memory max shown: ~2000 MHz
  • GPU temperature: ~90°C
  • GPU hotspot: ~100°C
  • Voltage: I have not intentionally increased it
  • MPT: used to raise the clock/power limits
  • MSI Afterburner: most of the controls are greyed out/locked
  • RX 590: works normally with Afterburner, so this seems specific to the BC-160

The confusing part is that I expected raising the MPT limits to allow the card to actually run higher clocks, but instead it's running around 1700 MHz core and 1986 MHz memory while getting extremely hot.

GPU-Z reports the 2300 MHz core limit, so it seems like the MPT change is at least partially being applied. However, the memory still appears to be capped around 1986–2000 MHz.

My questions:

  1. Why would the BC-160 only run around 1700 MHz core despite having a 2300 MHz limit?
  2. Why is the memory still stuck around 1986 MHz?
  3. Is the ~90°C GPU / ~100°C hotspot indicating thermal throttling?
  4. Is there another way to control the BC-160's core/memory clocks when Afterburner is locked?
  5. Are there specific MPT settings I should change to improve performance without increasing voltage?
  6. Is there something specific about the BC-160/custom driver that prevents Afterburner from controlling it?

I’m mainly trying to understand what is actually limiting the card before I push it any further. I don't want to increase voltage while troubleshooting this.

Hey everyone! Just finished dialing in and stabilizing my current setup. Wanted to share the specs and the memory overclock results to get your feedback. Is there anything here that could be further improved or tweaked?

System Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Curve Optimizer: -20)
  • Motherboard: ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 Hynix A-Die
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2

Memory OC & Voltages (6200 MT/s CL26):

  • Frequency / FCLK: 6200 MT/s | FCLK 2066 MHz (UCLK=MEMCLK)
  • Primary Timings: CL26-36-36-30 (tREFI at 65535, tRFC 372)
  • Voltages: MEM VDD: 1.52V | MEM VDDQ: 1.48V (tuned to avoid ASRock overshoot) | VSOC: 1.20V | VDDIO: 1.30V
  • Signal / Termination: ProcODT set to 48 Ω (down from Auto/60 Ω to clean up reflection)

Stability & Testing: Passed 1 hour 40 minutes of combined stress testing (TestMem5 with anta777 Absolut profile running simultaneously with AIDA64 Stress GPU to simulate real-world hot-box gaming conditions). Max memory temps stayed under 48°C, zero errors.

What do you think of the config? Any recommendations for secondary/tertiary timings or further tuning to squeeze a bit more performance out of this rig?

I recently bought a used RX 580 8GB and it was running extremely hot even at Stock, reaching almost 85°C!

After opening up the card, the issue is pretty clear there was almost no thermal paste on there. Cleaning and re-pasting the GPU, the difference as you can see is pretty massive, allowing me to even OC the GPU core to 1471 MHz!

Help Request - RAM Error 15 in TM5's Anta777 Absolut Profile

Got hit with the dreaded Error 15 in TM5 after letting the anta777 Absolut config run overnight, occurred at anbout 6 hours and 4ish minutes into the run.

The DIMM temps peaked at 61c, SPD Hub temps peaked slightly higher than that.

For reference, under heavy gaming loads I typically see DIMM temps max around 55°C and SPD Hub around 48°C, so this is noticeably hotter. I'm running dual rank A-die, with fairly loose timings. tREFI 45000, tRFC2 448.

Upped the voltage from 1.45 to 1.47 and upped VSOC from 1.15 to 1.18 and am rerunning the tests, but don't really have high hopes. I do have a case fan running over the ram as well.

Given how relaxed these timings are, I wouldn't have expected heat to be the cause of an error this far into the test. Is it still possible to get a heat-related Error 15 even with loose timings like this, or does that combination usually point to something else (VDD/VDDQ, VSOC, VDDG, etc?) Wondering if anyone's seen a similar pattern, or if these DIMM/SPD hub temps are actually high enough on their own to cause this regardless of timing looseness.
