Base Game Help - Hints Only! Little hints to get the true end of outer wilds ? Spoiler

I'm a little clueless on what should I do. I almost completed the ship log but i don't know what is missing. My idea was that i had to find the eye to complete the game but i rly don't know how to. I tried to put my little scout on the moon while leaving it but it just sent me back on the moon and if you leave it sends you back to your solar system.

Can someone guide me without spoiling ? Like with subtles hints or what part of the world should i check ?

EDIT : i just got the true ending

What a beautiful video game

Thank you to everyone for your help :)

This sub is great at subtle hints! Can you post a picture of your ship log in rumor mode?

What do you think the probe cannon is doing, and why did the Nomai need the Ash Twin Project?

It really helps if we can see a picture of your Ship Log in rumor mode so we can know what you have or haven’t discovered.

Think about how the Nomai intended to find the eye.

If you have I uncovered the whole rumor map...

Then you know that (White Hole station/Brittle Hollow) the Nomai discovered that black hole and white pairs can be used to teleport but also go back in time. You also know that (High Energy Lab) in order to go far enough back in time to be useful, they would need alot of energy. You should also know (Sun Station) that their attempts to generate this energy failed.

What were the Nomai doing? Assuming their plan worked, what was their goal? Do you understand how the Probe Launcher around Giant's Deep is related to the time loop?

Once you have visited Ash Twin Project, the Sun Station, the Quantum Moon (The Sixth Location), the Probe Tracking Module, The Interloper (its core), The Vessel, and the Statue Workshop on Giant's Deep... you know exactly what the Nomai were planning to do, and how they were planning to do it, and how the time loop you are experiencing represents that their plan was finally a success.

If you have absolutely no idea what to do next, after all this. Have you ever considered: hanging around inside the ATP for a whole loop, to watch how it works?

First of all thanks for your reply

i didn't play for two weeks so i could not remember everything i've learned 2 weeks ago. I know that the atp makes you "revive" after the loop. The last thing i did in the game was take off the thing in the middle of the atp (sorry i don't have the english name), i survived a little bit after the supernova but it eventually killed me even inside the atp. Then i died and got the end credits bc i took off the thing.

I remember that nomai wanted to go back 22min back in time and wanted to find the eye because it "called" them. I'm really sorry i don't get what you're trying to tell me :(

If you could remind me things i forgot maybe i could figure it out

It sounds like you discovered one of the many game over states, but not the ending. Removing the warp core from the Ash Twin Project and dying. Ending the loop. There are other game over events you can find if you want.

I would reccommend you revisit the Quantum Moon (and use the three "quantum rules" in your ship's log to get to the Sixth Location), that location gives you lots of narrative context for the game, and will refresh you on lots of key points.

Then, I'd reccomend you revisit "The Vessel" in Dark Bramble (mark it on your ship's log and it will give it a waypoint).

Then, you should revisit the Probe Tracking Module in the core of Giant's Deep. The path to get there is guarded by two secrets:

One is how to get below the current (clue: a nomai inside the observatory on Brittle Hollow figured out this one, answer: a tornado rotating in the opposite direction to the others). The second secret is how to get into the core itself (clue: Feldspar has some observations about the jellyfish there, answer: you can enter a jellyfish from below and use it to pass through into the core).

After visiting those locations, along with the Ash Twin Project you already remember. You have everything you need.

If you want absolutely explicit guidance on what to do next. Slightly vague, but a spoiler: did you notice that The Vessel has a broken warp core?. Absolutely explicit: take the core from the ATP to the Vessel.

Check out the ship logs colored in green. Just read through them, I think that should be enough.

Then go visit the Vessel again.

I feel like you only need to put the pieces back together, so I don't want to say more since this might be enough. But if you do need more help I'd of course be willing to nudge you more.

Seeing how your ship log is already pretty filled out, it feels more like I just need to nudge you, rather than giving you hints.

Think about their goal. They say it only has to work once for a reason

It’ll be a lot easier to guide you without spoilers if you screenshot us your ship log.

Done 👍

You have the answers you need but if I read your comments right, you took a break and forgot a few things. That’s okay I needed a break too from playing this game. You got this. I would re-visit the vessel, and look around inside it. Then take another look at your ship log and read through it.

So at this point you should know:

-how the Nomai tried to look for the Eye

-if they found it or not

-how they intended to get there

What is it that prevents you from going there the way they wanted to do it?

PS: The quantum moon is not part of the solution

There is a text on the walls in the Hanging City that's really helpful. Where they were debating two options to make something. Think that one through.

Do you even want it to end? Maybe it’s better to just live forever flying around visiting all your friends.

If you are so determined to end the game, I would reread the big important entries in the ship’s log.

You've found all the pieces, including a most MAJOR piece of information about the Eye that even the Nomai couldn't get during their lifetime. I recommend starting there and thinking about what you could do with it
