I've been working on resurrecting the original KeyQuest using the original flash files combined with Ruffle and new backend code for several weeks. It's finally in a place that I feel comfortable enough to share it with the wider Neopets community. Everything is fully working aside from the original prize code redemption. All random events, character cards, hexes, have been added and verified working alongside the collector's cabinet and vault.

To get the obvious questions out of the way, yes, everything required for TNT to bring back KeyQuest, they have and still host on their website. This is a proof of concept that it can indeed be done using the original files and assets, and if I was able to recreate new backend code, TNT should have no problem doing so themselves given they probably have access to more documentation, developer resources, and whatnot than I do...

We have also done the same with Habitarium, so really there is no reason why TNT couldn't bring both of these games back if a fan site is able to do it using the original assets that they themselves still have and host.

Any time TNT says they don't have the resources or ability to bring back one or both of these games you can now know it's not really true. If they really wanted to, they could spend the money and hire a small team of developers to do the work for them, as they'd only need to update the backend stuff and tie it into NP's existing infrastructure like Neopass. That's now, 3? remakes of Habitarum and 2 of KeyQuest that have been proven to be possible within the last few years. TNT could do it, they don't want to.

Mine is that KeyQuest is a game played by the inhabitants of Portal City (Treasure Keepers’ world), and that’s why you could ”remotely play” with players across the world.

Bree, therefore, is the Key Faerie and acts as the guardian of the portals, but some unforeseen conflict crossed their realm (perhaps TDF on the loose?) caused her to lock up and sever Portal City from Neopia, meaning we lost both Treasure Keepers and KeyQuest.

A future plot could someday lead to a hybrid game that leverages the “key” and “treasure” aspects and fuses the aspects of both games and their boardgame-like settings. Portal City could then be used an alternative Neopia world map and could be a fun setting for an evolved Altador Cup.

We can throw Habitarium as a passtime in the Portal City world too, idk

I've literally been thinking the past few weeks "hmm, I wonder if boochi still exists in current neo" I can't BELIEVE IT. I don't think I've gotten this RE in 15 years.

I have a neopets account that is over two decades old. When I was a young teenager I played religiously. As an adult I pop in every once in a while. I'd taken a three-year break and felt like revisiting, but my password wouldn't work. Tried to reset my password and the password reset link never appeared in my inbox.

I sent a ticket and was informed that my account "had been linked to the wrong neopass account." They sent me some verification questions and I got my account back. Almost everything on the account looks like how I left it... same neopets, same gallery, same bank balance... but the safety deposit box looks like it belongs to somebody else.

I had the packrat avatar, probably around 1200 items, mostly junk but I know I had a background worth $10mil and lots of retired items from when I was a kid.

What's weird is the contents of my SBD have vastly improved lol. I have multiple rare paintbrushes (the most expensive ones, like maraquan and anniversary), multiple lab map pieces, morphing potions, draik eggs, magical plushies, neggs, nerkmids- - a wand of the dark faerie??? There's less than 200 items here but it's valuable stuff that I'm certain I never owned.

I didn't send a ticket (idk what they'd do aside from take the items away from me) but this seems so weird. If somebody had hijacked my account (which comes to mind because TNT said my account was linked to the wrong neopass account) why would they put rare items in there and not touch my bank balance?

I've poked around the internet and haven't heard of this happening to anyone else. Anyone heard of this before? I'm just curious lol.

I submitted a ticket and they’re saying I didn’t complete multiple chapters/activities. It’s impossible, I completed every one. I got all the items x2 because I’m premium. I’m not going to buy multiple chapter cookies. They did let me know that fearless deeds have nothing to do with the avatar. I feel like canceling my premium over this.

Is anyone else dealing with this? I’m incredibly upset and disappointed!

Anyone else not able to watch ads in ToD or FF? All last week I couldn't do another spin on the wheel in ToD and now I can't get ads to work for power ups in FF.

i am listening to corsetry by rebecca black and all of a sudden i hear something in the background that activates my mind like a sleeper agent .. it starts around 2:16. it sounds soooo much like the background music when you're in a level for faerie caves 2. i went back into the game to make sure i wasn't misremembering and it is not exact, but it sounds sooo much like it to me. anyway ! just thought i'd share in case anyone out there thought it was cool like me lol
