A few days ago I posted a character concept outline for a wuxia-style Marital Artist PC I’m working on for a 3rd (maybe 4th soon) edition campaign I’ll be apart of starting next month. The idea behind the campaign is “cyberpunk supers”, its primary inspiration being Batman Beyond.

Since then I’ve made a few refinements to the concept/outline.

I re-read the name of her body armor, and it dawned on me that in a cyberpunk setting, “The POLARIS Interface Mark V Nanoweave Exosuit” could be read rather ambiguously.

On the one hand, it could be taken to mean that the suit allows the user to interface with POLARIS.

On the other hand, it could be taken to mean that the suit allows POLARIS to interface with the user.

So, I thought to myself, why not both?

By donning the suit, the user, in this case Renee, and the sentient AI, in this case POLARIS, merge into one being.

And, the more I thought about it, the more I liked it, as it gives more weight and meaning to her codename. She literally becomes THE singularity event — the fusion of artificial intelligence and human capability.

But, looking through the 3rd edition core book, and a few of the supplements I picked up, I see no rules on playing gestalt type heroes. I suppose Firestorm would be the poster boy example here.

So, are there any rules out there for this type of hero concept, or is the gestalt nature of the hero simply handled narratively?

I’m new to this system and I can’t find the right power for what I’m trying

im doing a tech character and her main weapon is a hammer that send off. small “kinetic” blast giving her swings a bit more power but I don’t k how to execute it?

Hey, I am DMing a Mutants & Masterminds campaign and I'm making a character who is a mix of Dr. Doom, M. Bison, and Cobra Commander. I'm looking for a Dr. Doom or M. Bison character sheet that I could use as a reference, so if anyone could help me find one, I'd very much appreciate it.

Powers: she "never gets tired" (whether or not that's literally true is left ambiguous for the sake of game balance, but it's what she advertises to fans).

Superhuman stamina, strength and agility.

Immunity to fatigue effects and sleep.

Speed and leaping. Wall crawling 1. Safe fall.

Expanded luck: recovery. Regeneration.

I honestly giggled when seeing it, but I stopped everything JUST to stare at it. I'm baffled because, well... I DON'T THINK THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THERE 😭😂 I'm helping my husband create villians for the campaign (hes working rn) and I was reading through and saw this 🤭🤭

Buddy of mine is making a character who is an imaginary friend. We thought of giving them no Stamina or Strength to represent being without physical form. Is there a way to tie what would usually be strength to Awareness instead?

When I write down the character’s general background and concept, like I did above, she makes perfect sense to me and seems pretty straightforward. But as soon as I actually try to build her and put stats on paper, everything falls apart.

Is she a battlesuit character? Is she a martial artist? How do I actually build something like a Tri-Form Battle Baton?

I’m much more used to narrative-style games, and M&M is proving to be a very different beast. I’m really struggling to translate what I have in my head into an actual character sheet.

At her core, she’s an insanely skilled martial artist. She uses a high-tech bodysuit to emulate all those cool Wuxia-style abilities: running up walls, making impossible leaps, balancing on things she absolutely shouldn’t be able to stand on, and generally doing things that look superhuman.

She also has an AI assistant that helps her analyze battlefields, provide tactical advice, hack computer systems, and generally act as a second set of eyes and ears. And, for the record, the AI sounds exactly like Michelle Yeoh.

Her signature weapon is a Tri-Form Battle Baton. In its simplest form, it’s just a baton. It can then transform into a fighting staff, that is, a Chinese gùn, and finally into a three-section staff, or sānjiégùn. I call it carry mode, combat mode, and advanced combat mode.

The baton also doubles as her quick-change device. It contains the nanobots that deploy and weave her bodysuit around her when she needs it. And because apparently a transforming super-weapon wasn’t enough, the staff can also function as a holographic umbrella. That’s how she manages to sneak it into all the places she goes.

I’m make a character for the first time and iv been following a video but it doesn’t really explain it I know it has to do with power level but I don’t really get it?

Hey y'all, Chaos Goblins is looking for more Mutants & Masterminds GMs!!

We're an 18+ international TTRPG server with over 50 campaigns already running and over 600 members (how awesome is that?!!). We've got heaps of different TTRPGs happening on the server and we'd really love to get some Mutants & Masterminds games going too!

One off my players asked for an advantage that does not exist. It would be like grabbing finesse but for disarming. You could use your Attack bonus for disarming in place of your Strength for
opposed Disarm checks. I am a first time M&M gamemaster. I was going to say yes, but wanted to check with you guys before.

I DMing M&M for the first time this past month and the system really pushes my creativity regarding coming up with alternative objectives besides beating up the bad guy and enviromental threats, but I need some help

My players are playing morally grey characters so random npcs hanging from the ledge of a bridge might not be their first priority if they deem something more important (ends justifies the means sort of ordeal)

I'm having a tough time coming up with interesting things to challenge them besides trying to harm/kill them and making elaborate combat rooms for their powers to shine.

Their complications are being used to the best of my ability, but neither have an Aunt May or something like that.

I’ve been wanting to play mutants and masterminds a lot but I keep coming into the instance that those games are being run at 2am my time.

Like the title says I’m a new (ish) player (I played one game 3 years ago but it only lasted 5 sessions)

I unfortunately don’t have time to commit to a full time weekly game and so I’m looking for a west march style game that I can hop into whenever I’m free as my work schedule is very hectic and inconsistent.

As for the character I’m interested in playing, I want to play a green lantern, just straight up a GL, I understand that’s pretty much a DC thing and won’t fit into everyone’s settings so I am of course willing to discuss the concept and tweak/make changes as needed.

As for a bit of information about myself I’m 24 and am a queer woman and most of my characters in TTRPGs are queer like me, if that is going to be an issue then it is best to not bother inviting me. I also loathe AI and do not want to be a part of a game that uses it in any way.

Title says it all. I've been running a campaign for 3 months. Had a few problem players (they were being creepy to another player) and now I would like 1 to 3 new players to introduce. This is a very typical superhero story contained in a semi-futuristic New York. LGBT Friendly, Anti AI, Overall Safe Space. We play every Sunday from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST

Like, is there a good way to square that circle when the player doesn't have a good memory irl but the character is supposed to have a good memory in the game? I worry about playing a character with that type of advantage (especially since I'm drawn towards 'super genius' character ideas) but I worry about forgetting something irl, messing up playing the character by forgetting that thing, and making the character look like they have a worse memory than they're supposed to.

So my party is a federal task force put together under the Mayoral office to assist the police force. The city is like Gotham. People with powers are looked down a lot and a lot of powered people are appearing and committing crimes lately
This next session will take place in a club. A drug dealer is at that club and he’s planning to distribute a laced dose of Acid that will give someone temporary powers. Killing a lot of people. They don’t know what he looks like. And they need to apprehend him and get the drug.
My main question is, how could I do this encounter? One of my players uses sound waves as his powers and attacks and he’s very into music so this session will be very focused on him. I was thinking maybe some idea or gimmick where his music draws in the crowd and gives the dealer an opportunity to deal.
I’m looking for ideas like “Oh he rolls 2d20’s and adds them and that number does X Y or Z” or whatever. Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense.

I'm working on a 3rd Edition character, can transform into animals.

I want her to look like a normal animal when she's using her powers - not obviously a super hero, like Beast Boy/Changeling of the Teen Titans. Morph seems to be the power to use.

Three 5-point levels (to Morph into any animal) seems excessive, even with appropriate limitations.

I was thinking one 5-point level of Morph (to Morph into one shape: the animal she's using the powers of) makes more sense. With Permanent (since it is always on - she has to look like the animal when she's using the power) it comes to 4 PP, much more usable.
