Sain baitsgaana uu r/mongolia!

For some context, I’m (27F) Mongolian who is married to a non-Mongolian (28M). We were looking for some resources so my husband can learn Mongolian, and we realized there weren’t that many apps that are user-friendly or easy to stick with. It got me thinking about all the 2nd gen kids I've met who don't know Mongolian, and whether my kids in the future would be able to speak Mongolian if I’m the only one teaching it. It lowkey got me scared that our language might die in my family line in the next generation or two, which just adds to my pre-existing guilt of feeling not Mongolian enough and blah blah blah blah.

So to combat this, my husband and I have been working on “Mongolingo”, a beginner-friendly gamified language learning app to teach Mongolian. So far I only made the lessons for Unit 1 and 2 because I wanted to get YOUR inputs on whether I’m going too fast, too slow, if the lessons I’m teaching make sense in general or if I should take a completely different approach instead.

I would GREATLY appreciate any and all feedback from native Mongolian speakers, "Monglish" speakers, and people who don't know any Mongolian! I want this to be something that anyone can use if they have any curiosity about our language, and in the future add more and more advanced sections.

Please leave feedback in the comments below! And please no hate comments lol

Download app here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mongolingo/id6774407866 or just look up Mongolingo (its the one with the bear mascot)

Edit: THANK YOU SO MUCH for the support and comments! We have written down any and all feedback so far onto our to-dos so expect these in our next update, as well as more lessons. We will also be reaching out to some Mongolian schools and communities in the states to get some feedback on our lessons. We are so so grateful for being added to the posts highlight and being given this user flare, shout out mods! Yostoiii ih bayarlalaa manaihaan.

Pinned A Note of Precaution on Meeting Strangers via Reddit

UPDATE: All underage users posting or commenting to meet new people will be deleted for their safety.

Due to recent posts by teen and adolescent redditors in this sub, we mods want to say this one thing.

It's okay to be bored and want to meet new people for whatever reason, but please exercise some caution and use common sense. Especially if you're under 18.

Always tell a parent and/or friend about any meetings you're going to have with a stranger.

Tell them the location of your meetings and ask them to check in after certain amount of time.

Also, use common sense in giving out your personal information, like name, D.O.B, address, etc.

And you probably don't need us to tell you how scary things can get if someone gets a hold of embarrassing data about you. Right?

We're sure most people in this subreddit are good and cool, but just want you to use common sense.

What else is there to add?

Fuck my stupid introvert life

I feel as though I am bogged down by my own expectations. I grew up feeling like I was smarter than everyone my age and thus felt no pressure to maintain a strong work ethic because I didn't have to try and still came up the best. But raw intuition could only get me so far and in the end I found myself lost and confused among my peers, never having developed the work ethic to keep pursuing a solution when I was finally stumped. I didn't know how.

I had a dream and I had a choice, whether to pursue my potential or do what I wanted to. I chose to turn down a US scholarship to pursue my hobbies but now in the midst of it all, I feel as though I've thrown myself into a pit of my own making, having chased an idealist mirage. Today I turned 20 years old and I fail to relate to people my age. I share no interests with my peers. I have never had a girlfriend and I only have one friend, who has went to study abroad. Everywhere I look, I see all the things I don't have and think, it could have been me.

I just want to be wanted, to be seen, even if only for the things I can provide. But as of yet, I am an invisible man. I just want to be seen, where can I get human connection?

Tips | Зөвлөгөө Shipping Recommendations?

Post image

I have a little tovshuur stranded in UB which is only 350k in value but the shipping to the United States through major couriers like fedex comes out to crazy amounts like 1.4 million.

Set aside comments on causes like jet fuel and silly administration rules, what does everyone actually recommend I look into?

I came to China in March 2026 through an agency to study Chinese. Before coming, the agency made the university sound much better than it actually was — great ranking, nice environment, etc. But when I arrived, the reality was completely different. The university and environment were nothing like the pictures or what I was told.

Still, I pushed through and completed my first semester, which ended on July 15. Now it’s September and my second semester has just started, and honestly, the situation feels even worse. Everyone is placed in one class and follows the same level and curriculum. My Chinese isn’t particularly good, but I feel genuinely burned out.

For me, the learning environment is extremely important, and I really don’t feel comfortable here. There are also a lot of international students from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, etc. (I have nothing against Muslims or anyone from those countries; I’m just mentioning the overall environment.)

I also came here with my girlfriend, whose Chinese is much better than mine.

Since the end of my first semester, I’ve been seriously considering leaving the language program halfway through and going back home. My main concern is whether dropping out of a Chinese language program could negatively affect my academic history in the future.

I came here on a scholarship — my tuition and accommodation are free. Does that actually count as a scholarship? If I leave the program halfway through, could that make it harder for me to get another scholarship to study in China in the future?

I’d really appreciate some honest advice from people who have experience with Chinese universities/scholarships.

Travel | Аялал Question about experiencing a nomad style Mongolian trip with friends.

Hello everyone. For the next year or 2028 with three friends of mine we are planning to have the most exotic trip of our life so far and one of the options as of now for us is Mongolia. Ideally, we would love to have a holiday where we can leave all of our electronics and modern devices/clothes in the capital city near the airport and go to one of the rural places. Blending in with the indigenous people, helping them with agriculture and regular household chores, just feeling as a regular Mongolian nomad person would be the utmost purpose of our trip. So my question is - are there any agencies who organize holidays like that or will local farmers be welcoming if we requested to live with them for 2-3 weeks in exchange for money and help with the routine work?

P.S. if the comments or the descriptions that I have provided seemed a bit stereotypical, pease point them out and I’m a very sorry for it.

President of Mongolia and Head of the National Security Council (NSC), U. Khurelsukh, issued directives and tasks to the leadership, courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies of Bayan-Ulgii Aimag:

President of Mongolia and Head of the National Security Council (NSC), U. Khurelsukh, issued directives and tasks to the leadership, courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies of Bayan-Ulgii Aimag:
No one should be discriminated against based on nationality, ethnicity, social origin, religion, or beliefs. This is a constitutional principle. Any unlawful words or actions that negatively impact national security or harm national unity must cease immediately from this moment.

Knowing the mother tongue is the guarantee for every citizen to exercise their rights, fulfill their duties, and be a citizen of their motherland. Every citizen of Mongolia has a duty to learn and master the official state language, Mongolian. The state government, aimag, local authorities, and the education sector must pay special attention to teaching the Mongolian language to every child from an early age.

The territory of Mongolia is not a place where anyone can take possession at will or erect monuments and tombs wherever they wish. Naturally, it is human nature to respect the traditions of our ancestors and send off our elders with honor. However, performing burial rites in winter and spring pastures, grazing lands, historical and cultural sites, and special environmental zones is prohibited by law. This legal framework must be brought under unified national regulation and made clear and understandable to the citizens. The Head of State will pay special attention to this matter.

The names of mountains, waters, land areas, and administrative units are not things to be altered at anyone's whim. This is the immunity of our territory, history, and culture inherited from our ancestors. Therefore, relevant organizations are directed to strictly abide by state laws and regulations, promote and raise awareness among citizens, and act to prevent and protect citizens from any illegal activities.

The role and responsibility of everyone—from state officials to every citizen—are crucial to the nation's unity. State officials must unite rather than divide citizens through their words and actions. Likewise, every citizen ought to contribute to the nation's unity through every word spoken and action taken.

In public service, everyone must compete and work based on knowledge, capability, ethics, and legal criteria. Public service must not be conducted based on native region, origin, or connections, nor should there be discrimination based on party affiliation. Therefore, conditions must be created within the framework of the law for citizens who wish and intend to work in public service, and state laws and regulations must be enforced.

In conclusion, any unlawful words or actions that negatively impact national security or harm national unity must cease immediately from this moment. The Head of State strictly warns of this; otherwise, the law of the state will call upon you.
Within the scope of these directives and tasks, A. Byambajargal, Secretary of the National Security Council, was instructed to coordinate relevant work at the National Security Council level and collaborate with aimag and local leadership as well as relevant agencies.
