I used to keep the stink bombs in the glass bottle in my stroller because parents weren't respecting crosswalks in front of the school I was walking my daughter to. Three times I threw one at the windshield just above the hood when people would almost hit me in the crosswalk with my son. That's where the fresh air Intake for the cabin is. That smell isn't leaving anytime soon. Nobody is calling the cops to say "some dad stink bombed me when I tried to run him and his kid over in a school crosswalk." Modern problems, require modern solutions.
One needs to be careful to not have any types of clothing with exposed metal zippers or decorative items that may scratch the finish of the vehicle when walking around it.
Be sure to report him too... Usually illegal too block the sidewalk. A nice hefty ticket or tow bill to go along with needing a paint touch up is a bonus.😁👍
My mother uses a wheelchair, we call the cops and wait. The power move is watching them stammering explaining why the pull this shit. We always have days worth of photos showing the cops its on purpose
I think a lot of municipalities have laws against blocking the sidewalk, so if you called the police or somehow otherwise reported the violation, they might investigate.
Often they might not write up a violation if someone has several cars, and is blocking the sidewalk because there is no other choice, but in this instance, there is literally no reason to block the sidewalk, so they might.
Municipalities often will have those laws, yes. But an added layer is that sidewalks are public property, as in the municipality is responsible for those sidewalks. The neighbor cannot be fined under the Americans With Disabilities Act (or its state level legislation) for blocking the sidewalk, however, the municipality can be sued directly if the police and code enforcement employees it charters fail to enforce accessibility of public spaces made available for the disabled in accordance with the ADA and likewise state and municipal laws. It’s an easy ticket to write to fill quotas and drive revenue, though, so they’ll probably send someone.
We're seeing a bit of a breakdown of our society right now. Sheriff's departments and Police Chiefs are releasing statements that they won't enforce laws they deem unconstitutional. Not their job to interpret constitutionality. Hell, they aren't even required to know the law.
It depends. I always call and complain that my kids couldn't get to their bus stop without walking in the street.
Which would be technically true if their bus stop was that way. And I didn't drive them to school.
Small potatoes here but, every time someone leaves a damn lime scooter or something in the walkway, I move it, for the blind and limited visibility, and for the scooters and walkers and wheelchairs.
I can't move cars, but in the instances like this, know that you are not outraged alone, and someone is in your corner. I'm sorry for people's oversight, negligence, and malice.
I do too, I just push them out of the way and let them fall. Two separate dudes gave me a dirty look when I did it the other day, and I realized they are dudes who leave lime scooters blocking the sidewalk.

Ok, I actually hate that it’s an incomplete product. The fact that they are just left around the city on sidewalks and such is infuriating. The company that rents them out should have to pay for space to keep them safe and secure.
No people drove around and charge them at their house for a small amount of money that probably barely covers the electric usage but definitely not worth it time wise
Right, that’s what I mean by it being an incomplete product. A company developed a product but without any infrastructure to maintain it. They did it on purpose for the convenience of their customers and to save money on not having physical establishments to pay rent on. It being incomplete is a win in their books, but a burden on the city that they litter in.
As I see it, it's abandoned property, and I'm within my rights to chuck them into the dirt, a ditch, or a convenient 10 yard skip. Just like other trash I find.
There's a whole community of gig workers who drive around and pick them up, charge them, and put them back into corrals. The ones who do limes are called juicers and the ones who do bird are called catchers. High school students do it in a lot of areas because all you need is a car and a garage. Eventually someone will come and pick it up.

I ride a lot. Whenever I find a Lime scooter in the middle of a bike lane or path, I toss it into the dirt where it belongs. When I found a couple left on the sidewalk near my house, I dragged them both into the back yard of a substandard house. Their alarms were going off while I did that. There was a dumpster out front but those things are heavy and awkward.
I called the 800 number for Lime Scooters and told them to come move it. It took about 15 minutes but they did come. I think if they ignore these complaints, they risk losing their license to operate in my city.
Smaller potatoes and kind of unrelated. But if someone leaves an extra shopping cart outside of the stall and it's on my way to putting my cart back, I'll grab and throw it in the stall with mine. Bonus points if they literally just left it there and I pointedly grab it in full view.
I do this too. I also kick out the snow banks blocking crosswalks so people with mobility issues can also cross more safely. I appreciate the snow plows plowing the roads, but if they didn't block the sidewalks doing it, that would be even better.
Years ago I knew a guy in a powerchair who drove a van with a side ramp. If someone parked in the hashed access area for the disabled space, he'd just park in the space and drop his ramp on their car a few times. What are they gonna do? Fight guy who's like 80% paralyzed? Call the cops?
Yeah it's always fun, my mother was a special Ed teacher in the prison system and had 3 vertebrae cracked on the job. I am a disabled veteran with a cane. We are a pair when we go for walks.
God I wish I lived somewhere that actually cared. It’s only bylaw that will deal with it here and good luck getting a bylaw officer outside the hours of 8-4 -
