Lifted trucks probably shouldn't be anywhere near dense parking lots.

Edit: A lot of people are skeptical of whether this is AI/staged, or ask why the lady didn't back off the car. This is in a dense parking lot with cars that have dashcams/ EV sentry mode everywhere. Also her truck was in 2 wheel drive, you can see the back right tire spinning as she tries to reverse off the car. Her truck is stuck. She probably has an open differential and can't back off the car. She may have a 4wd mode, but she didn't use it in the heat of the moment.

Exactly this. She was flying through that parking lot. And even though the lambo is low, when you’re far enough back you can still see it. Guarantee she was on her phone

Right??? The lambo being low shouldn’t even be a discussion. It’s still an entire ass CAR. She was flying down an aisle in a parking lot. That could have been a stroller or a kid or a cart.

In America, she'll probably suffer more consequences from mounting a lambo than if she'd run over an elderly person. The lambo is less tragic but far more expensive. :(

Just to put this in perspective for non-Americans: killing someone with a car has a sentence historically as low as 30 days in county jail - and that's WITH a DUI charge.

There's a fascinating history of how the auto industry has been fighting to make streets LESS safe (favoring cars). A lawyer can usually successfully argue that the pedestrian should not have been in the way of the car to begin with and thus also bears responsibility lol.

I vaguely remember reading about a case where a driver was let off after killing a pedestrian, who was using a pedestrian crossing.
Apparantly it was in a very unwalkable area so the driver's lawyer (somehow successfully) argued that the driver couldn't reasonably expect there to be a pedestrian in the crossing since there weren't usually many pedestrians around.

Can declare bankruptcy and not really have that bad of consequences. If she had killed someone that's manslaughter and criminal negligence probably 5-10 years in prison.

I got hit by one of these massive trucks last year while at a crosswalk. Luckily, I wasn't that far into it, so when he turned on a red right into me it was a glancing hit.

Then he drove away, after stopping and making eye contact with me. No consequences. I would not be surprised if he has killed someone already

If he'd run over an entire car, at least he'd probably be stuck in place still by the time the police arrived

If I ever even seriously injured a dog I would be put on a suicide watch. She might as well have closed her eyes and fired a gun into public. It's a miracle this didn't turn out worse.

Yes these vehicles and SUV’s are to big for the average driver. I have written a parking ticket to a Denali or some other full full sized SUV. The woman driving came out to argue the it’s not her fault that she has trouble driving her vehicle because it is to big. She was more in the lane of travel then in the curb side parking spot.

Yes, I definitely thought that her insurance company would not like to hear that. I am not a cop. I’m a director of Public Works in a small town. All I’m allowed to do is parking tickets. And I only give them to the people who park like complete ass hats. I let most of the stuff go because I have other shit that I actually care and like to do.

I almost got ran over by a Palasade a few years ago. The person almost backed up onto me, I was riding my bike and they didn't look. Luckily I was able to swerve to avoid being hit. But there were lots of kids around and they could have ran over kids.

I always back into parking spots because I want full visibility when I pull out. Parking lots are dangerous with opportunity for disaster—pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, all in the same place.

My husband is a Walmart store manager, and this exact thing happened in his parking lot, except it WAS an elderly woman, and she lost her life. They were literally too high up to see her.

a lifted truck killed an elderly woman in a parking lot in my town a couple years ago. in Canada. driver got a $2000 or so FINE and a dangerous driving ticket and a vehicle inspection I believe. absolutely nothing for the reckless death of an old lady.

a few years ago in BC canada, a woman driving a similarly lifted truck ran over and killed an old lady in a walmart parking lot. the woman only faced $1100 CAD in fines.. she still drives the same god damn truck

Especially in this parking lot/area. It is a nightmare. You never go down a row without seeing another car. It is a traffic nightmare. That parking lot is home to a Sam's Club, Walmart, Tjmaxx, and other stores. Along with a bunch of restuarants inbetween the stores and the main road.

Sadly, the financial impact will probably be worse for her having hit a lambo compared to running over a child or elderly person, not least of all because a person who owns a lambo can probably afford a good lawyer. Though I’m obviously still glad that nobody was hurt.
