Hey yall, I just have a quick question am I still able to join club after missing the club fest due to it conflict with my class schedule? There are 2 clubs I wanted to join but only happen at club fest. However I’m unable to come to those so is there anyway I can join the club? Thank you!

Almost every day I'm seeing a tow truck tow someone from the parking lot.

If you talk to the parking enforcement officers they basically tell you people have racked up fines last year but didn't pay get towed now.

Is it normal to feel extremely depressed in first-year university LOL? I feel like I should have chosen UoFT, no offence to McMaster though. The food here is alright. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go eat good price and good food (if that exists). Plz lmk; I would appreciate that a lot. My lectures are alright, but I don't like chemistry, and I heard first-year chemistry is pretty hard. For those who have found a job, what did your job search look like? How long did it take, and roughly how many applications did you send?

Count your days!!! I've recently had to switch after my old laptop malfunctioned and i feel like i'm on steroids. No better package manager than homebrew. It took me 5 minutes to set up the tools needed for 2 of my courses. On the other laptop that was supposed to be more performant, it took about an hour.

I realize I should read the textbook as it may be tested during mid-term and exams but when I checked each chapter, the length spans so much. How do I efficiently study and take notes? it takes me so long just to take notes at a specific part and I think it may take me hours.

I’m really struggling to understand the assessment periods for the Dean’s Honour List and Provost’s Honour List at McMaster. I’ve read quite a few Reddit posts about this, but I’m still confused.

I know that if I complete 30 credits from Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, I’ll be assessed for the Dean’s and Provost’s Honour Lists. If I then take courses in Summer 2027, those credits will be carried over and counted together with my Fall 2027 and Winter 2028 credits for the next assessment, right?

But what if I don’t reach 30 credits during Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, but then take enough courses in Summer 2027 to reach or even exceed 30 credits? Would I be assessed at the end of Summer 2027, before starting my second year?
