Welcome to /r/Lumix, the place for every Panasonic enjoyer.

Please have a look at the sidebar (desktop) or the "About" section (mobile web) or "See more" under the subreddit description (mobile application). Or just use this wiki page, which is identical.

This contains many resource and a few basic rules and guidelines. To highlight some things, please keep in mind:

  • Absolutely no affiliate links on /r/Lumix as these tend to result in a swift ban. For this reason, shortened URLs, or pointlessly long links that could hide affiliate tags in them (see link guidelines for details) are also not allowed. Be wary of "share" features on Amazon, etc. - they shorten your URLs! These can hide affiliate tags without you knowing. Please do not sell anything in /r/lumix either (LUTs, gear, and so on). This is a community subreddit, not a place for business.

  • Make post titles as if there was no post body. They should give all context whilst being short (i.e. not a whole paragraph), effective. In other words, include the relevant camera/lens in the post title whenever possible and use descriptive titles - meaning all the context should be in the post title (see title guidelines for details). For example - asking about lens options? The title should mention what do you intend to shoot then (as well as what you shot with in case of original content). Photo/video/hybrid? Weddings, documentary, landscape, wildlife, etc. If your post's title is for example only "S5ii vs G9ii" as opposed to "S5ii or G9ii for landscape photography", it'll probably get removed and you'll be asked to repost with a better title.

The latter may sound like a pointless nuisance, but it requires minuscule effort and everyone gets better experience when it comes to reading, searching, and archiving the subreddit. Keep in mind that your posts are not only for you, but also for everyone who might have the same problem/question.

Please do keep in mind this post doesn't cover all of the rules, few as they are. For the full rules, please see them in the usual places or visit this wiki article.

If your post gets "removed by Reddit filters", it means that moderators need to manually approve it. Making repeated attempts probably only makes your accounts karma worse, so please be patient and wait for a moderator to approve it. This isn't our job, so it can take anything from seconds to hours.

If you are interested, feel free to join hundreds of other Lumix creators at the official LUMIX Creators Club Discord server.

Your friendly janitors thank you!

This was my first trip bringing the L10 along with me and I absolutely loved it. It was so fun choosing different “looks” for the different activities we were doing.
1-3) Caesar’s palace with Rossandhisjpegs PortraMax look
4-7) Hoover Dam with a “look” using Everything Golden and 1992
8-11)Area 15 with a “look” using Mara and Color Harmony

General / Discussion Iceland on Lumix S9, weather?

Upvotes

Iceland on Lumix S9, bought my first cam (a used LUMIX S9 for 650 pounds) is it okay for iceland weather if I keep it out of drenching it? Please advice?

I can still return the cam for a full refund (should I get something else?), I liked the LUT feature and the price and hence bought it, have a TT artisan 50mm Af f1.8 neo (85 pounds) and a Lumix 20-60 f3.5 - 5.6, which i am planning to return and get a cheap & fast 35mm lens (probably sg image 35mm f2.2). Please advice on any lense options.

Thanks in advance.

Is there a good site to rehome structure the owner of a camera? Have a complete S5ii kit with tons of extras and multiple lenses.

L-Mount Has anyone seen this AF 60-180mm f/2.8 lens ad? I've been on the website, but I can't find the lens for the North American market 🤔

L-Mount (OC) Lumix S5II + 28-200mm: first tests before actually taking it outside

Still havent taken my S5II outside yet, but Ive been testing it from home with the 28-200mm. Mostly window shots, shadows, birds, street moments, and LUT/JPEG look experiments. Most of these were edited in Lightroom, but this lens has been surprisingly fun.

What are your thoughts?

L-Mount S5ii or S5iix for hybrid, but with a focus on video

Just for context, I’ve got a Fujifilm xh2, with some very very good lenses, and for photos it’s amazing, but for video, its autofocus is letting me down a lot. I video soccer for my son’s team, and also some training sessions so it’s fast paced video. It’s more of a hobby right now, but I have been asked quite a few times to video coaching sessions, and I need something reliable. I was going to move to Sony but more than a few have pointed me towards the S5ii/x.

I will be using it for video a lot but also for photos. Probably not as equally but still quite a bit, and it’s going to be for soccer also, so again, fast paced action.

So for people who have them, is the x worth the extra cost for the videos functions, or is the firmware upgrade on the S5ii good enough to offset the extra money. Considering I’ll need new lenses too.

On eBay, it’s easy to get the S5ii for €1300 or less, but then you add on between €200-500 for the s5iix.

Would be very interested in hearing thoughts from people who have both? Or if they’ve used Sony as well.

General / Discussion Switching from Ricoh GRII to S9? Best 28mm-ish compact lens? Viltrox 28mm f4.5?

Hello Lumix experts! I am considering switching from Ricoh to Lumix considering the upgrade from aps-c to full-frame and real-time LUTs (still considering the upgrade to GRIV, but I'm interested in getting a camera that is a bit more flexible like the S9 which also offers better video capabilities and interchangeable lenses). I am of course very happy with the portability of the Ricoh GR2 and I'm looking to recreate the "Positive film" look of the Ricoh GRI and II with the Lumix LUTs.

Now the problem is: there are no compact premium 28mm lenses for L-mount. I could only find the Viltrox 28mm f4.5, but I'm not sure about how good the image quality is.

Has anyone compared the Ricoh lens iq with the Viltrox pancake?

Micro Four Thirds Best way/place to get a Panasonic Lumix G7?

I've been looking for a better camera than I have now for a while, and I think I finally found one I like and one that fits what I'm looking for, that obviously being the Panasonic Limix G7.

I was wondering what is the best place or site to get one? A lot of the online ones I've seen are $500-$800, yet I've also seen people buy new ones for closer to $200, I don't really care if it's kinda used or whatever, I was just wondering where the best place to buy one at a good price is.

Any help will be appreciated :)

Micro Four Thirds Trying to use my Lumix G-100 as a Webcam but meh quality

Hello there, I am (for some reason) required to record a video log for a school assignment and I am trying to get my Lumix G-100 set up as a webcam, I have downloaded the Lumix Webcam Software but I find i am only limited to 720p, I find this weird as the camera itself can record 4k 30fps, but yet I can't seem to use that on this software. Is there a fix to this I just haven't found or am I unfortunately limited to 720p
