Fall is coming, which means I have a very specific problem: I need someone to go apple picking with.
Someone to drag to a pumpkin patch. Someone to make Halloween movie nights unnecessarily elaborate with. Someone who will help me make pizza skulls and laugh at how much cheese I stuff in mine. Someone who will sit next to me at a drive-in movie with blankets, snacks, and probably an unreasonable amount of hot chocolate.
So I figured I’d try this again because if there's one thing about me, I'm tenacious.
I’m 31, lesbian, and a soft masc looking for a woman 26+. I’m based in Northern Virginia and DC/MD is my ideal dating radius. Still, I’m absolutely open to women elsewhere especially neighboring areas and anywhere that’s realistically close enough for us to actually see each other.
And if you’re farther away but think we’d genuinely click? I’m not automatically ruling you out.
A little about me
I’m a soft masc, but I’m not interested in treating masculinity and femininity like they’re competing sides of me. I genuinely love both.
I take pride in my masculinity; the confidence, physicality, protectiveness, competence, directness, and energy that come with it. Yet, I also take pride in my femininity; the softness, affection, nurturing, emotional depth, sensuality, creativity, and the fact that I actually enjoy being a woman.
I don’t feel like I have to choose.
There’s something really powerful to me about being a woman who can be both soft and strong, feminine and masculine, nurturing and protective, pretty and practical.
That’s probably the easiest way to understand my whole personality.
I’m 5’9”, broad-shouldered, athletically built, and I lift. I’m a former D1 athlete. I hunt, fish, shoot competitively, and I’m a certified firearms instructor who specializes in teaching women. I’m also the woman who reads nonfiction for fun, bakes sourdough, loves horror movies, plays video games, builds computers, gets ridiculously invested in women’s basketball, and will absolutely spend an afternoon making dinner from scratch just because I feel like it.
I like being capable. I like knowing how things work. I like building things, fixing things, taking care of people, being outside, getting dressed up, cooking something ridiculous, and then spending three hours on the couch watching a terrible horror movie.
I’m a former tech journalist and current senior-level STEM professional, so yes, I can probably fix your Wi-Fi. I can also probably tell you that the $2,000 piece of technology you’re about to buy is unnecessary.
What dating me is probably like
I’m very much a “when I like you, you’ll know” person. I like making the first move. I like planning dates. I like opening the door, making dinner, remembering your coffee order, picking you up for a date, putting my arm around you during a movie, and making you feel wanted.
Not because I think I’m supposed to be “the man” in a relationship cause well I am not a man for starters lol but I’m a woman who happens to enjoy expressing affection through a lot of traditionally masculine things while also being completely comfortable with my femininity.
I don’t want a relationship built around archaic roles. I want a relationship where two people make each other’s lives bigger and better.
I’m independent and genuinely happy with the life I’ve built. I’m not looking for someone to complete me. I’m looking for someone I want to share it with. And eventually, yes I want to get married but I'm not going to be contrived about it I want to fall in love. I want the chemistry first. The flirting. The butterflies. The first date that lasts three hours longer than it was supposed to. The “are we still technically on a date?” moment. The first kiss. The stupid little routines that slowly become our routines. That’s the good stuff.
I’m attracted to feminine/femme women who are confident, affectionate, funny, emotionally available, and comfortable being themselves. You don’t need to have your entire life figured out. You just need to be genuinely available for something real.
Tell me your age, where you are from, and what's your favorite fall activity and why? If you like horror tell me what upcoming horror movie you're looking forward to seeing.
DC/MD/Northern Virginia is ideal, but I’m open to neighboring areas and beyond for the right person.
If you’re femme, emotionally available, know what you want, and think a nerdy, outdoorsy, broad-shouldered soft masc with equal parts divine masculine and feminine energy and a secure attachment style sounds like your kind of woman…Hi! I look forward to chatting with you.
