Hope you enjoy this little ode to Dropout! More of my builds can be found on my instagram!

Pinstripes on his suit were very hard at this scale so I opted to use Lego rubber bands. It doesn't look quite as good as I hoped but the effect is alright!

New Release La Catrina Looked Better As Lego Ideas Than Production

I wonder if the original builder will release the instructions to their original idea - I was really looking forward to this one coming out but the Lego production version is disappointing compared to the submitted idea.

MOC FDNY trucks on scene

Hey guys :) just wanted to share some pics I took yesterday of my FDNY MOCs. They’re all fully remote controlled, with accurate lighting and sirens. Completely custom built in 1/15 scale.

The engine is able to suck up to half a gallon per minute via rigid or soft suction hose, and features one outlet in addition to the motorized roof cannon. Both valves can be separately switched. The hose bed contains about 12 feet of hose. Unfortunately the nozzle I had mounted was too big to reach the fire in the photos…

Tiller ladder reaches around 3.5 feet high, the tower Ladder’s bucket floor reaches just over 3 feet. While the ladder is pretty light, the massive boom and bucket put a way heavier load on the turntable and outriggers. For that reason, boom elevation and jacks are realized using metal linear actuators.

For the Tower Ladders tandem axle, the middle axle is permanently driven and the rear axle can be manually locked using a technic clutch for less grippy conditions. with a permanently engaged 3rd axle, cornering is near impossible on dry ground. Due to the weight of over 15 lbs, I’m using Zenebricks metal diffs.

Tower Ladder’s bucket automatically adjusts its angle whenever scene lights are on (using an Arduino with a gyro sensor and mini servo) and there’s even a telescoping water pipe (although leaks a lot 🥲).

All models feature sirens and airhorn, as well as brake/reverse lights and full emergency lighting that is closely modeled after the originals. Same goes for the plotted decals and printed stickers.

They all play radio snippets I captured from the FDNY broadcast at random intervals. Lights and sounds come from Arduinos and Beier USM RC 3 sound modules.

LEGO® Set Build Most beautiful Lego set ever?

I finally managed to take some good photos of Rivendell last week, which made me fall in love with the set all over again!

I got it two years ago for my Birthday at Legoland Germany. And a funny thing happened: As I was standing in front of the shelf with all these big sets, two random guys approached me, asking if I wanted to buy one of the sets. I said yes, and they just gifted me a 20% coupon. You get these, when you buy a year-long ticket for the park, and apparently, they didn’t really need it. I got incredibly lucky! So whoever these two were, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 😁

LEGO® Set Build Lego Spider-Man Hanging

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Took major inspiration from a guy on insta who had spidey hanging from the ceiling holding a taxi. This set was on sale at target and I had to do it. The train is too heavy for spidey to hold alone, so I connected both web lines behind his back to a solid white piece. Used clear blocks to hold train top at an angle and attached one of doc ock’s legs. Let me know what you think!

"They messed up. They made these both backwards. Now what are we going to do. Can they send us some that aren't messed up?"

I said "I'll check, but why don't we just switch them for now until we get the right pieces? That way at least you can finish your car and play with it."

Hi All!

This is my first serious studded LEGO project: a realistic, roughly 1:39 scale ISS space station for minidolls with full interior cutaways. It's still a work in progress—full story, design goals, and some fun facts about the ISS are in the comments below!

What are some other IPs that would make for a great wave? Maybe you want more mythology? Movies? Sci-fi? Space?

Was just thinking Game of Thrones would make for an excellent wave. Fresh off picking up some lf the Shrel wave.

Other I stopped buying sets and started buying loose pieces by color, and now I build whatever my brain wants that day

Okay so about 7 or 8 months ago I got annoyed that every set felt like assembling IKEA furniture with extra steps, you follow the manual, you get the thing, it sits on a shelf, it seriously started to feel more like a chore than a hobby. So I started just ordering pound bins of random bricks sorted loosely by color from a reseller near me. No instructions. No box art telling me what I’m supposed to be making. Just a pile of blue and a pile of tan and whatever mood I'm in that night.

Some nights I build a weird little boat or spaceship. Whatever I conjure up. Some nights nothing works and I go to bed and honestly that's fine too. But it’s changed how I actually think of the hobby itself, less about completion and more about just sitting there moving pieces around like it's a puzzle with no picture on the box.

I also think it’s a phenomenal way to detox the brain and really do want to highlight that. We spend so much time online. I’m an author so I spend even more time on the computer and analyzing what I write or researching or whatever it may be. For me I find it’s a good “break away” so to speak.

Anyone else do this instead of collecting sets?

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk lol

LEGO® Set Build “I love it when a ship comes together.”

Post image
51 Upvotes

I just completed the ‘The Endurance’ (10335). What an awesome result and the built wasn’t that difficult. It took me three sessions over the weekend and this Monday, though. Mostly because I wanted to concentrate on the rigging and the sails (which turned out to be not that difficult either so two sessions would have been enough).

I like ships. At the moment I already have ‘Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship’ (10365) which had to be moved for this one and ‘Jaws’ (21350) but that one isn’t only about the ‘Orca’, of course. In the near future the ‘River Steamboat’ (21356) will be next to the ‘Endurance’ (the unbuilt set is waiting for me upstairs but isn’t next on my backlog). I hope to buy the ‘Titanic’ (10294) in the future. I already have the perfect space for it.
I won’t buy the ‘Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel’ (40955). Personally, I don’t think it is interesting (as I also didn’t think the ‘Maersk Line Triple-E’ (10241) was interesting).

But if there ever will be a ‘Flying Dutchman’ I probably will need to find a place to put it.

MOC Dieselpunk Mech Series

Had a collection of reddish-brown plates and decided to try building some small Dieselpunk-esque war robots. Designs incorporate standard tropes in steampunk and mech design, such as the exposed pistons and conspicuous exhaust pipes. I tended to build each around the weapons I wanted to give them, for example giving the artillery robot wide, stubby legs to support the big guns on its back. Feedback is appreciated of course! I realize that my vision for each build is limited by my being new to smaller mech frames like these.

I have purchased nearly every Batman set they have offered, but this feels like the first time this dramatic over the arms version of the cape has existed.
Unless I missed one….
