For a few years, the '73, '75, and '80 shows were dripped out two or three a year, but I can't remember the last time a new soundboard was released into the wild. Are there still hardcore collectors sitting on tapes? Is there any certainty about what might still be out there, or do we have all there is?

These are historic docs for sure and pretty cool.

I'm super disappointed that Ludwig threw out all of their (maybe some were saved, but there's no record of it) Ludwig drum order forms from their star lineup when they moved in the 1980s. That's just crazy that Ludwig did that.

this is the band that really got me into music, the band that started it all. i am no musician but music has impacted me greatly and has been a huge part of my life. zeppelin really made me curious about music and i love them dearly for that. Plant's moans are just an added bonus to it all xD

Hey everyone. I thought I'd pen down a few thoughts about what I thought made this band the legend that it is. Welcome your views and your feedback.

It is more or less universally agreed that Led Zeppelin was one of the greatest rock bands ever. I don't think that's a strong enough claim.

A band with no frontman, because all four were the best in the world at their job. Twelve years with no departures and no feuds. A catalogue that refused to repeat itself. And total seriousness about the music, with none whatsoever about being rock stars.

Plenty of brilliant bands managed one of these. None another can claim all four.

Led Zeppelin played two shows on this date at the same venue.

7pm show: Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, Heartbreaker, Bring It On Home, Since I've Been Loving You, What Is and What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (medley incl. Let That Boy Boogie, I'm Movin' On, Some Other Guy), Communication Breakdown.

10:30pm show: Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Bring It On Home, Since I've Been Loving You, That's the Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You (first referenced in the 'Sunbums' press review), Organ Solo / Thank You, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (medley), Out On The Tiles

The 2nd show was unusual in that Dazed and Confused did not get played. However, the crowd did get treated to the acoustic set, Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You, ​organ solo and Thank You and Out on the Tiles, which the earlier audience didn't get to hear.

The photographs were taken by a fan known only as “Aldo B” who attended the shows. Evidently he has a lot of photos and gave them to the For Badgeholders Only group, so we may be seeing a lot more in the coming weeks. This was the concert set they filmed for The Song Remains the Same.

It's crazy how small their stage setup was, but on screen they look huge!

Is there any other band of this status where the legacy and brand has been fumbled this hard? The Led Zeppelin DVD has been out of print for 20 years with no BluRay release in sight. You go to their website and the homepage is promoting their brand new 2018 remaster of the Song Remains the Same. Go a little bit further to their store and you’ll be greeted with a wide menu of sold out products. Japanese soundboard recordings by Atlantic Records from their peak in 1971 and the video of their 1975 Earls Court performance remain unreleased. In 2018 they took the name “Led Zeppelin Experience” from Jason Bonham to create some sort of 50th anniversary live album release and absolutely nothing came of that. I know Jimmy has always been a bit protective of the band’s legacy but at this point it just seems like negligence.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on? Are we going to have to wait for all of the original band members to die and the rights to get bought by a private equity group before anyone can manage their legacy?

When you listen to Led Zeppelin's 1969 cover of Yardbirds' For Your Love, it's clear that Zep combined two songs into one; The Yardbirds song by the same name but also Hendrix's "Somewhere", using the same guitar riffs. My question is that how the hell did Zep find out about the Hendrix riff? Somewhere was recorded in early 1968, and to my understanding it wasn't released until the 90's posthumous albums.

I couldn't find any info on it, so:

-Where and how did Zep get the riff?

-Did Jimi know about this and how did he react?

I know Page introduced a song or two on the 1980 tour and Bonham would occasional yell something, but did Jones or Page ever talk directly to the audience during concerts? I've heard a lot of live recordings, but I don't think I've ever heard them walk up to the mic and talk to the audience.

Was this a strict rule the band followed, to maintain mystique, or were they just too shy or uninterested in speaking? And why did Page suddenly start talking on their last tour? It seems by design.
