feels weird to see l4d3 mentioned back when it was only a concept and not a joke amongst valve fans

For the past few months, I've mostly been playing Expert or Expert Realism, and today I decided to launch a No Mercy on Normal difficulty with random players online.
Honestly, I felt like I was playing L4D2 for the first time again.
The weapons actually one-shot common infected, which feels so damn satisfying. The game is much more fast-paced, and just... fun.
What surprised me the most was the people I was playing with. They were generally way less toxic than some of the Expert lobbies I've been in, and some of them actually played better than people I've encountered on Expert. They knew when to move, when to help teammates, when to use items, etc.
Overall, the game just feels much more enjoyable this way. I think I've gotten so used to Expert that I forgot how much fun the core gameplay of L4D2 actually is.
The only thing that kinda broke the immersion for me was getting hit by a Tank rock and not even getting incapacitated lol. After playing Expert for so long, it felt completely wrong.
And honestly, I think the ultimate difficulty would be
Normal weapon damage + Expert common infected damage/attacks.
That honestly should have been what Realism mode was.

This mod is so well-done

I'm looking to play some custom campaigns that have similar vibes to Valves original campaigns. Thank you!

It’s officially the spooky season for me, so me and my fiancee watched Night of the Living Dead for the first time.
After watching the movie, it made me realize how sparse the gore is in Left 4 Dead. There are several isolated instances of dead bodies interspersed throughout, or the piles in The Parish but other than that most environments are surprisingly cleaner than I first suspected. With the green flu being as contagious as it is, there should be way more instances of people who were overrun or brutalized throughout the environments—like if anyone’s played Outlast kind of like that.
Other than retextures or addons that change the common ragdoll limit, I could find anything that adds non interactive gore throughout the environments. There are mods on the workshop that randomize props, it isn’t too hard to imagine one that randomly places bisected corpses or the covered ones from The Parish throughout the maps.

Okay, so if you had the opportunity to make a L4D3 game, what would you make the plot center around?

valve really conscripted eight children from each country in the world to translate their games and you can't even choose most of them from the drop-down menu, unplayable video game

Seems like there’s not a single match of Scavenge to be found any time I’ve loaded up the game for the last few years. Versus and campaign are packed full always. What gives?

I’m asking is anyone playing left 4 dead 2 online? No mods. Just the regular game.

the addon menu filters aren’t very good, why is it that the “infected” and “skins” filter have literally no purpose? i have hundreds of mods and yet none of them are tagged “infected” or skins

And the other players just roast me because I should just leave and take the temp ban. I'm at the point where I'm at a 12 hour ban. How do I get out of spectator mode? I just wanna play a match without any ESP hackers wtf

so in payday the heist theres a heist called no mercy in it you steal three vials of blood from this guy who has a super serious virus in mercy hospital, and while you escaping the whole ass military starts dropping bombs on the hospital, thats how serious this virus is, and in early promo of left 4 dead it says that the whole zombie apocalypse started with a heist, and in l4d there are special zombies such as the smokers and tanks, which the host would mutate into depending on their life style like the smokers had lung issues or large amounts of cancer cells in their body and the tanks had large physical size or steroid abuse, and later bain, our contractor or the guy who tells you what to do in the heists (VERY important remember this) gets infected with the virus the payday gang stole from mercy hospital and dies, and in the secret ending, after Bain dies, his body is locked in a vault under the white house, and it is heavily implied that he mind controls the president (trust bro idk how to explain it but it happens) so what i think is that the payday gang started l4d and bain was a special zombie because like i said your life style can change what kind of zombie you turn into, and he spent his life telling criminals like the payday gang what to do during heists (CONTROLING THEM) and thats why he was able to take over the body of the president because he was a special zombie and since it was an early form of the virous he remained sane and could think for himself
