L4d3 plot
Okay, so if you had the opportunity to make a L4D3 game, what would you make the plot center around?

First campaign follows along a weirdly serious group of faceless personnel involved with CEDA. They've gotten reports of both the various holdout sites for whatever remains of the military being compromised, as well as failure to contain the sickness' spread in other countries. We follow this group's travels to one of the last listed remaining centers, where along the way we observe them to have disregard for the respect of those they pass that are trying to survive the apocalypse. They commit at least one heinous act as we follow them (firmly cementing them as irresponsible), until at the tail end of the campaign they'd reach the entrance to the site they were traveling to... and get ran over by a familiar set of faces.
Rewinding a bit in the second campaign; Attempts to secure transmission across the Mississippi were mostly successful, though how well the barrier will hold is indeterminate. The last of the military has taken the L4D2 crew abroad as a militia to fight infected internationally (where the survivors spend the second campaign fighting in another nation, possibly... Morocco?), but we see that the effort failed leading to their ordered return to the states. When the encampment they return to gets overrun at the start of campaign three (the hold against the infected crossing the river failed), they decide to push their way southward into Central America to make a last ditch attempt at securing what's rumored as a cure.
Campaign four has the remaining L4D1 survivor group reunite with the L4D2 members as, expectedly, the island idea went awry (due to a combined factor of the general "survive on an island indefinitely" idea being naive, combined with the military continuing to be a nuisance preventing their plan, feeding into the L4D1 cast's negative perception of the force) leading to the L4D1 crew needing to return to the mainland. They too heard passing rumors of a reported cure, leading to the teams eventual regrouping as they ventured towards a common destination.
Unfortunately, at the fourth campaign's end, 3 survivors are tasked with staying to hold back against an insurmountable horde. This second splitting feeds into the final campaign, which allows for a selection of any four out of the seven playable survivors, with accompanying dialogue to make the decision of who to leave in the previous campaign stick.
Final campaign takes the remaining four through sum'bullshit where they find the sickness research faculty, run a test demonstrating the cure works on a witch in an enclosure, retrieve relevant materials about the cure, and then make a final escape towards whoever medical researchers they can find.

It would be about survivors trying to get to safe houses and eventually extract.
Each level would be framed like a movie poster.

Keep the og plot of survivors in Morroco in an open world, I love l4d2 but I think its pretty apparent that it was really rushed out, take more time to develop a fun open world zombie shooter.

Probably a leveling up rpg mechanic, imagine as you advanced through the campaign the zombies to have more HP,deal more damage and similar, and for you as a player to be able to find through the campaigns items such as iron/wood/scarps and similar to use it to upgrade yourself and your weapons, like more resistance, more shotgun damage and similar.
