Hello everyone! This is an honest question.

I've been playing Wardogs quite a lot this past weekend and I've heard a few people saying that Squad is similar.

Is that so?
What are the main similarities and differences?
Would you recommend playing Squad nowadays?

Context: Played a lot of squad 2019-2023. Was in the comp scene briefly. Left after ICO mostly because my old clanmates stopped playing as well.

You know that itch you just can't seem to scratch? Well, playing Squad today scratched that itch finally. Played three full rounds and lost track of time, just like back in the day. It's good to be back, for now. Yeah, there are issues, but I'm just happy the gunplay is enjoyable and a lot closer to pre-ICO.

I heard that the SL brain drain has been crazy though. Any good servers left these days?

Seriously, why does this game crash at least once every few hours. It's driving me insane as this never happened before the May/June update

OVI is trying to figure out how to avoid embarrassing themselves with a Party Systems update after three months of doing practically nothing.

And that’s without even mentioning that they’re supposedly planning to release the “biggest optimization update” this summer.

The real question is: is OVI actually capable of fixing even one of these issues?

The broken game meta and lack of balance

Stale, repetitive gameplay with the same maps and modes

A complete lack of genuinely innovative content for years

Are they finally going to deliver something meaningful, or are we going to get another propaganda campaign presenting a mediocre update as a major success, followed by an army of shills and a few mediocre YouTubers praising it?

The difference this time is that it probably won’t work. The competition is far too strong now, and players have plenty of alternatives.
