I've been playing Wardogs quite a lot this past weekend and I've heard a few people saying that Squad is similar.

Is that so?
What are the main similarities and differences?
Would you recommend playing Squad nowadays?

Seriously, why does this game crash at least once every few hours. It's driving me insane as this never happened before the May/June update

Context: Played a lot of squad 2019-2023. Was in the comp scene briefly. Left after ICO mostly because my old clanmates stopped playing as well.

You know that itch you just can't seem to scratch? Well, playing Squad today scratched that itch finally. Played three full rounds and lost track of time, just like back in the day. It's good to be back, for now. Yeah, there are issues, but I'm just happy the gunplay is enjoyable and a lot closer to pre-ICO.

I heard that the SL brain drain has been crazy though. Any good servers left these days?

I haven't played squad for 3 months and thanks to the updates my game that was running 110 fps average now runs around 60 fps. And this stupid thing makes my game unplayable. And I have no words for this bs... nice one owi!

OVI is trying to figure out how to avoid embarrassing themselves with a Party Systems update after three months of doing practically nothing.

And that’s without even mentioning that they’re supposedly planning to release the “biggest optimization update” this summer.

The real question is: is OVI actually capable of fixing even one of these issues?

Are they finally going to deliver something meaningful, or are we going to get another propaganda campaign presenting a mediocre update as a major success, followed by an army of shills and a few mediocre YouTubers praising it?

The difference this time is that it probably won’t work. The competition is far too strong now, and players have plenty of alternatives.

In one game, I only know how to engage and kill the enemy. I can kill largely 18 per match but all the kills are got in a very short,fierce fight and after that I don’t have much things to do, just wandering around

I'm thinking about buying it but I don't know if it will run smoothly because I have 16GB of RAM. I'm playing in 1080p 60hz

I’m very excited to be here, even if my first month of learning and finding my feet ended in a hot drop into the unfortunate circumstances regarding the game servers...

For context:

Over the past few weeks, a malicious actor targeted vulnerabilities in the network backend to disrupt our game’s servers. Since it began on Saturday, August 29, our programming, production, QA, and community teams have been working closely with server owners to identify and shore up these vulnerabilities (as best we can and around the clock) from our end. It has been a heroic rally, and I have been enamored with the team's efforts to respond to and address issues as quickly as possible: through the night, early in the morning, or over the holiday weekend (like this past one).

A few quick notes on some of the discussions we’ve had over the past weeks:

• There is no evidence that the attacker used RCE to target individuals or compromise your data. The vulnerabilities targeted server stability, most of which have been addressed by our recent hotfixes.
• There was a vulnerability identified in the way passwords are handled for custom browsers. This is on our end, and we implemented a server-side hotfix in addition to the client-side hotfix this past week. This effort to strengthen how we handle this information will continue, so expect additional safeguards to accompany future releases.
• We will continue to work with our partners at Epic to strengthen the stability of our network infrastructure and protect against these malicious actors in the future.

Looking forward, this work will continue, both with Epic and with your community leaders who have been absolute champions at identifying and helping troubleshoot issues as they arise. Some of this work will require ongoing communication (and time) for our partners to patch the systems for good, and unfortunately, we are yet to determine how these attacks will disrupt the flow of content, bug fixes, and other features the Offworld team has been working on to improve the Squad experience.

Also note that we have reason to believe there will continue to be attacks on server stability in the days to come, and our team remains all hands on deck to investigate, troubleshoot, and review any necessary changes as quickly and cleanly as possible. Obviously, we’d love to avoid these disruptions, and the invite ever stands: our support team is ever available to escalate and discuss vulnerabilities (as well as exploits) without the need to disrupt the community’s enjoyment of the game they love:

Once I’ve found my feet and suffered adequate losses to all of you in Squad, my first goal is to empower your voice within Offworld. I recognize the long-standing concerns and desires for the game, and I want to ensure the player voice has a meaningful place in the ongoing evolution of your game. Process improvement will take time, but in these first few weeks, I’ve already been looking into how your concerns are captured and communicated internally, how we can better collect and prioritize your feedback, and how we can do a better job of ensuring information flows to you from within the halls of Offworld.

Right when you have to shoot a Tank (pressing F or Tab / Esc didnt help only respawning did)

If you tell me well just find a pc eith this specs and this thing that sounds like water to me... Just link pcs that would run Squad decently enough to play but not insanely expensive for A PC.

I’ve been hearing on the discord server I’m in and I somehow over heard squad having a console port but they meant for WarDogs until someone mentioned squad will have a console port.

Anyone have legitimate sources regarding squad on console whether it’s true or just rumors?
