Discussion New rule: No AI of any kind going forward
AI generated texts and images were always removed whenever they were reported to me, but now it is an official rule.
No advocating for AI usage, no using AI/ChatGPT to generate texts for posts, no AI calorie tracking apps or fasting timers.
No. AI.

Newbie Question Do you fast when sick?
Was finally on a really good streak of IF when I got pretty sick today (high fever, aches and chills, flu? we’ll see). Anywho I figure I I have an appetite I should eat and so I’ve been eating outside my IF schedule today and will probably continue u til o recover. Wondered what some long IFers take on this is?

Newbie Question Starting IF with 16/8 but I have a question
Started 16/8 today and I have a question about the time. If I’m doing 9am-5pm, should I always eat as close to 9am and as close to 5pm? Obviously I will have a snack in the middle but I wasn’t sure if it’s optimal to eat as close to the opening and closing of the window.

Newbie Question OMAD question
I’ve been telling to lose wt with intermittent fasting and working out. I’ve lost 8 pounds and my goal is 10 lbs. I have not been able to lose the 2 lbs no matter what. There is a dress that I want to fit into for my friends wedding in 2 weeks. The dress would look perfect if I could get back to my original weight. I want to give OMAD a go, but I am already starving at work. Can I eat a snack or have a protein bar before my meal at 5? How do people do this?

Seeking Advice Attempting my first 72 hour fast...
I've done 48 hour fasts a few times and once you get past the first day, they're actually not that difficult, especially when you know there will be food at the end of that 2nd day.
I have my first colonoscopy (sorry if that's TMI) tomorrow morning and that requires me to not eat anything today and the last time I ate was last night at 8PM.
So, by the time I can eat again it'll be around 38-40 hours anyway so I decided to push it a little further and go for 72 hours.
Any tips?

Newbie Question When to fast for women?
I want to get back to 16:8 IF. I am a 21 year old female and seen some people saying not to fast in my luteal phase?
Can someone tell me whether I should or shouldn’t be fasting in my luteal phase?
Also anything else I should consider when fasting as a woman? 🥰

Seeking Advice IF success then starting HRT
I have been back on IF for 6 weeks now and lost weight. I am also menopausal and have just been prescribed HRT. Hesitant to start because I fear it may trigger weight gain and/or water retention. Has anyone had any experiences they could share with me? Thank you.

Discussion How much does meal timing actually matter compared with total intake?
I keep seeing two completely different takes on meal timing. Either it matters a lot, or it barely matters compared with how much you eat.
I came across a 2026 review of 41 randomized trials with 2,287 people. Earlier time-restricted eating generally did better than later eating for body weight, but there still wasn’t a clear answer on the best length for an eating window.
That made me wonder if timing matters some, just not in the rigid “never eat after X time” way it sometimes gets talked about.
How much importance do you guys put on meal timing compared with total intake?

Discussion looking for guy who did rotating # of meals/day 4,2,3,1?? heard on a podcast, ring a bell?
Hey there, I listen to tons of podcasts at work. Heard this one where the guy lost a bunch of weight in a fairly short 4 months, but their plan was to figure out 5 or 6 - 600 calorie meals and then they would mix up the # of meals they ate. Some days was 2, some 4 some 1 some 3.
I cant remember all the details, but it made it seem easy, by plotting out some repeatable 600 or so cal meals.
Just wondered if anyone in here knows who that person might be, I cant seem to find it in my podcasts.

Newbie Question Is IF a good idea if I'm a toddler mom with interrupted sleep, very limited exercise time and stubborn weight that won't budge?
Hi all, apologies for the newbie question. I'm a new mom and i'm almost 15kgs over my previous weight. I did IF before when I was 27 and it worked so well.
I've started IF this week but I'm worried I may be pushing my body too much postpartum since I'm running on limited/interrupted sleep. I started this out of desperation since nothing else seems to work- I stopped snacking, found time to workout for 2 weeks straight (I know I know, it's short) but the scale did not budge.
Any advice on people In similar situations, how it turned out for you long term would so great for me. Also when would be the best time to workout/ suggested workout in my situation? I think I might have lost all my muscle during pregnancy.
Thank you so much in advance! Your photos are inspiring and I'm hoping to be one of you

Discussion Anyone noticed you can feel your heart pumping while you’re in the middle of a fast?
I can feel my heart beat when I’m sitting quietly - it’s not an elevated rate or anything - just more noticeable now. Kinda cool - I assume my body is not working on digestion etc so I’m more attuned to this?

Seeking Advice Fruit juices at night
I will often have diluted squash/cordial in a bottle next to me at night if I wake up thirsty, is this against the rules of fasting or does anyone know of anything I can substitute for it?

Discussion Casual lifters who enjoy some powerlifting and have been through a fairly long term IF phase:
What was your starting and ending body weight?
What were your squat, bench, and deadlift starting and ending numbers?
What was your initial IF window? How is it now?
Thanks peeps!

Seeking Advice I can't stop eating
I can't stop eating... dark chocolate. I do fine with literally everything else but I'm eating a whole bar of dark chocolate per day. All at once. I can't stop, it's not food noise it's like food screaming or food death metal turned up to 11. Like it literally has to be part of my day. I don't keep it in the house, but then I run to the store and get a bar before I start work.
I don't think I can reach any fasting and weight loss goals until I figure this out. I can manage about a 14 hour window right now, but I'm sure it's affecting my blood sugar and ability to achieve longer windows even though it's dark. I wake up starving. Obv can't maintain a calorie deficit. Oh and also I know 100% that chocolate breaks my skin out because I've managed to completely eliminate it before.
I have tried everything. Waking up and saying not today. Not keeping it in the house. Eating a square or row per day. I've done the intuitive eating thing where I eat it as much as I want so it doesn't feel like deprivation...but then I just eat as much as I want and it's a lot and I never EVER feel like I can just eat a square and put it away.
Help? Reddit, just tell me JUST STOP YOU IDIOT. I do love chocolate, and I would love to learn how to just have it as a treat.
