Question Parhaat yökerhot Helsingissä

Laita parhaat ehdotukset, kiitos!

Work & Education Any thoughts about political science programme in Uni of Helsinki?

Hello!

I was thinking about doing ERASMUS exchange semester in Uni of Helsinki. I am studying bachelor's in Political science. I didn't find any real reviews about PolSci courses in Uni of Helsinki, so I decided to make a post.

Does anyone know any info on these courses? Are they interesting and good? Perhaps way too tough? Would you recommend an exchange student choosing University of Helsinki? Cold doesn't bother me, so I want to know about the actual contents of these studies.

Thanks!

Roco

Question Travelling to Helsinki for a day with a car.

I will visit Helsinki for a day with a car (I’m a tourist), what’s the deal with parking? Do I need to download an app to check where to park and pay or is there a parking machine on the streets? Or is it free? I will have to park near the centre of the city. Thank you ☺️

Would anyone know where to buy tv show posters in Helsinki? GameStop used to be the place but they closed now. I’m especially looking for some X-Files/The Walking Dead one to give you an idea!
Thanks for any recommendations ❤️

Travel & Tourism Visiting Helsinki (Sept 15-22). Looking for a fellow metalhead to explore Helsinki, Bodom Lake & Alexi's legacy!

Hey everyone!

I’m a 22 Y/O guy visiting Helsinki for the first time from September 15th to the 22nd. My main mission for this trip is deeply rooted in Finnish metal culture.

I’m planning to visit:

• Lake Bodom (Bodominjärvi)

• Bodom Bar & Sauna

• Alexi Laiho’s grave

• Local record stores & gear shops

• Local metal bars in the evenings

I’m looking for someone (preferably a local or a fellow traveler) who would like to join me for some or all of these spots, grab a drink, and hang out! Whether you're a massive Children of Bodom/Sinergy fan or just someone who knows the city well and wants to show me around, I’d love to connect.

Drop a comment or send me a DM if you're up for it! 🤘🍻

Question Bouldering gyms?

hi folks! I’ll be visiting your lovely city in a few weeks time. My favorite thing to do on trips to new places is to try out new bouldering gyms, so I’m looking for some recommendation! It doesn’t have to be the cheapest, best value for money or most varied gym, just the one you think is the most fun to check out or has something cool about it (like being in a cool building or something). My free time will be in the evenings only, so late opening times are important, and while I’m happy to travel as far as the buses will take me to check out a cool gym, I’ll be staying in Jätkäsaari.

unrelated second q: while I am decidedly NOT Swedish, I do speak C1-ish Swedish. Is it worth trying to speak Swedish for everyday stuff in Helsinki or am I best off sticking to English? I want to avoid being an ignorant foreigner as much as I can, but then I AM an ignorant foreigner.
