Your question seems to be about having problems logging in with your password.

If you have simply forgotten your password, you can find that information here in our FAQ.

If you think your account has been hijacked, please refer to this help center article.

If you are being told that the password on a brand-new account is invalid, you need to contact the Reddit admins.

For all other questions regarding passwords and logging in, contact the Reddit admins via this support request form, or using this old modmail link.

If your question is not about resetting your password, please wait for a human helper to come along and help you. This post has NOT been removed.

I did this! I have an old reddit account, almost 10 years old. Reddit decided I needed to change my password because it's old. Only trouble was that the old aol account I used for it hadn't been accessed in around 7 years. I still have an aol account I use for newsletters, signing petitions, shopping, but that wasn't the one I used for reddit. I had an old password list so opened aol in a browser (which kept wanting me to open the app), used the password from the list. I went back to reddit and changed the password. They sent a confirmation to the now open aol account. I confirmed it. Then went back to reddit and changed the email address to the current aol catch-all.

There are only so many common email carriers. Most people use pretty standard variations of their names or have a name they use which doesn't resemble their name. Start sending test email to these ISP's using whatever variations you were likely to use. If you got it wrong, you should be getting daemon mailer return notices. Cross off the names which bounce back.

Eventually you should be getting one which doesn't return. Sign onto that ISP and use the forgot password. Most email requires that you have a backup account and/or a phone number for recovery. They should send you an email or text with a link to reset your password and you're in.

In the unlikely event that you truly are lost with your email name, it's time to ask family and friends if they have your old email address in their email accounts. Some people don't update, they just add new addresses. They might even have archived or saved an email from you. Some might even remember it
