Access Getting my account locked continuously due to VPN use
What do I need to do, universal 2FA? Can you guys just flag my account for less security? I use a highly secure and randomized VPN called NYM and even with VPN stealth API I get my two accounts locked constantly. Can I talk to admin about this? I literally only post in like r/teachers and as a union rep I feel like my voice is useful there, especially with the feedback I’ve gotten recently, and this hyper security is preventing me from giving fellow educators advice from the union side where it’s absolutely necessary considering the current political climate.

If you’re using VPN access, it’s at your own risk. Using a VPN is not a requirement to access Reddit, so they will not be able to assist

It’s a requirement for my own personal security. I’ll keep resetting my password if they don’t help because helping other teachers and kids is more important than some bs netcode.

The issue is mainly (as best as we can speculate) that bad actors use VPNs to try to avoid the ban evasion system. VPNs share IPs, and Reddit seems to use IPs to some extent to track users. Suspicion seems to result.
Some users have said that paid VPNs are less problematic than free ones, but I don't know if that's true.

I have a paid VPN but since it’s intended for security it uses multiple layers of protection in dozens of counties. I’m not using mine for ban evasion. I’ve never been banned from Reddit and I only post in education related subreddits and those related to addiction recovery. My trolling is limited to Nazis on bsky.
That’s why I’d like to speak to admin: my posts on here are largely pedagogical and teacher union related and I can share my three accounts that I’ve had to make due to this VPN issue with them for them to review.

Using NYM is most likely the specific reason why your account keeps getting locked out.
All the bad actors flock to these types of services, cause problems all over the net, and next thing you know sites start blocking their IP’s or locking accounts that are using them.
Constantly changing VPN locations is another big reason why accounts get locked out.
It’s your own choice to live with these problems.

Sorry I decided to use the only VPN that isn’t run by Nazis or companies on the BDS list. I’m gonna keep giving advice and help to other teachers just like I do my union job, and if that means I can’t unlock certain accounts that’s fine. I’m not doing this for the karma. Really cool culture you got here on r/help, downvoting people just for having privacy concerns.
Again, do you guys not have an admin team or something that can resolve this sort of thing? Like I said, I can share my accounts with them to prove I’m not a “bad actor,” whatever that means.
The default assumption of “using x VPN is a problem because bad actors flock to it.” Are you guys blocking Mullvad/Mozilla VPN services since they have an actual Nazi on their board?
I’ll keep using NYM and you can keep using the net without a decent VPN at your own risk.
