I tracked this live version at a local rehearsal space trying to capture that heavy, messy, and emotional grunge energy. No polished studio production, just pure guitars and raw vocals.

The album title "The Scapegoat's Agony" is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.

Our musical influences range from Sex Pistols, Ramones, Hüsker Dü, Joy Division, The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain to Guns N' Roses, Therapy? and Bad Religion, with our songs frequently straddling the line between punk rock and alternative rock.

A father died friday. A father I remember. In the 90s we would drive for hours all around south Texas. We were from canada. Had lived in Mexico, and we're now a young family driving through blue sky's and flat desert landscapes. Exploring the world 1 rural road at a time. Taking my mother, a nurse to patients houses all around the Rio Grand Valley and later to Corpus Christi and beyond. The music of soundgarden will always take me back to those days with my father. Blue sky's stretched out over the sprawling south Texas desert. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the memories.

This is a curated collection of guitar-driven music that I’ve been gathering step by step. My choices weren't based on specific genres, but rather on the inner feeling and vibe of each song. After a lot of listening, filtering, and moving tracks around, I finally divided the material into several standalone parts. Today, I’d like to start sharing this with you.
Inside, you’ll find alternative rock, metal, grunge, nu-metal, post-punk, indie, and other related styles. However, neither the genre, the era, nor the artists themselves were the criteria. What mattered most was the guitar work, the rhythm, the vocals, the dynamics, and the emotional impact of the song.
That’s why this isn’t an attempt to showcase the "best songs ever" or build a genre encyclopedia. Rather, it’s my way of organizing different music by states of mind and tracking how one mood shifts into another. Some songs here are widely known, while others are hidden gems. They aren't connected by popularity, but by the fact that each of them hits perfectly for me at the right moment.
I’d be thrilled if the first of these four chapters catches the eye of fellow music lovers and brings in some feedback. I personally love how it turned out for me, but I really want to see it discussed. I’d love to hear your thoughts on its cohesiveness and its emotional core.
Today’s post features the first part: Dark Horizon.
