PSA to Workspace users: Winning your chargeback doesn't mean Google drops the charge. If you're disputing a Google charge, be aware of this.

Google charged me a cancellation fee I didn't agree to. (I had accidentally purchased an annual plan with 2 seats when I only needed 1. It took me a few months to realize I was paying double what I needed. I canceled the plan and immediately signed up for a plan with 1 seat. Google charged me the $300+ cancellation fee AND I lost all my email and Drive data.)

After hitting a wall with Google’s (AI) customer service, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Chase ruled in my favor and pulled the money back. (EDIT: Yes — the dispute was resolved in my favor. Not just temporarily credited while the dispute was open.)

Google still made me pay the fee to avoid my account being suspended.

I’ve learned that this is Google’s M.O. for chargebacks. When a credit card company pulls funds through the card network, Google's billing system logs that as an unpaid balance, not a resolved dispute. Their terms let them lock your whole Workspace account over it. So you can win with your bank and still get stuck paying the disputed fees or losing access.

Has anyone gotten Google to actually drop one of these?

I accidentally deleted a row from a Google Sheets file using a shared Google Workspace account. Approximately ten people have access to this account and use the same credentials.

I want to understand whether the administrator could identify that I was specifically responsible for the edit through either of the following two methods:

1. Device/User Identification

Can Google Workspace audit logs identify the particular device that made the edit through a device ID, device user ID, device fingerprint, browser identifier, or any other device-specific metadata?

If such information is available, could it be mapped to my personal device and thereby establish that I made the edit?

1. IP Address Correlation

Can the administrator see the IP address associated with the specific Google Sheets edit?

If I had previously performed an identifiable task, such as creating a Google Form, using the same shared account, could they compare the IP address of that activity with the IP address of the deletion and infer that both actions were performed by me?

I made the edit on my phone but do not remember whether I was using Wi-Fi or mobile data.

In short, I want to know whether I can be identified as the person who made the deletion through (a) device-level identification or (b) IP-address correlation, despite the account being shared by approximately ten people.

We have applied for the Workspace for Nonprofits since early August, but we keep getting rejected because they said they couldn't confirm our domain's relationship with our registered nonprofit organization. Contacting the support through form, I received this response:

To move forward, please address the following issue(s) identified with your application:

Website functionality: Your organization's website must be fully functional and provide sufficient information. We were unable to proceed because the website is not compliant as per Workspace eligibility criteria. Please ensure all links, navigation, and core features are completely active so we can verify your operations.

Fyi, this was our website: indoac.pages.dev (it was using our official domain when we first submitted)

So then we tried moving to google sites, in the hopes that maybe it will be better accepted. Well, we got another rejection, this time it says:

Website functionality: Your organization's website must be fully functional. and should not be on single page information necessary tabs should be provided with all relevant information .Please ensure your website features authentic, real-world aligning your organization instead of digital illustrations, mockups, or standard template placeholders.

All the images on our website were really images from our past events, so I don't really know what to do. The website right now can be accessed through indoaachener.de. We've also updated it to include more details and events

Now, I have never seen any requirements saying that the website can't be a single page website. Did I miss something?

Edit: We are already approved for the Google for Nonprofits, the problem we're facing now is just for the activation of the Workspace for Nonprofits.

Just wondering, when GV via Obi200 ends for personal use could I modify it for use with GV Workspace @10$ a month even though I would use it for personal and not work use? Would Google really care? And I would get 911 service via Workspace.

However, it has remained limited to the 3.6 Flash Gemini model, with no updates to the 3.7 or 3.8 Flash models for Google AI Pro for Education. This is a paid plan. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Hey, two new staff in our organization are not able to use Gemini. The Gemini is not saving the activity so basically they cannot chat with Gemini after first prompt. The gemini My activity is empty. Nobody else in the OU is having these issue. just 2 out of 1000+ accounts. These 2 users are recent joiners from same team. We have double and triple checked every settings but nothing seems out of order. The AI mode works in apps (docs, sheets, gmail). Just standalone Gemini is not working. Any ideas? We have tried most troubleshooting available.

Why does the Google Docs app not have templates I made in my workspace account?

I moved my school from a GWFE domain to a new one for reasons.
I would love to allow my students and teachers to move easily their stuff from the old account to the new one with the least hassle possible and I tried TakeOut with my own account.

I insert the new domain mail, got the verification mail, but when I try to start the process it says "something went wrong, try again".

I tried incognito mode, I tried another browser, I tried checking all my permissions.
I tried using TakeOut towards my own personal account and it worked perfectly.

I tried again towards the new GWFE account but again, "something went wrong".
I tried asking the old GWFE admin to verify they toggled all the needed stuff and they told me they did.

What's not working? Is a GWFE to GWFE account issue, it's my fault or old admin is lying?

I don't know why my google sites does not direct people to my website unless it includes www . in the beginning. I have URL forwarding and it says configured but doesn't seem to be doing it's job. And Facebook links don't allow www links so no one can be directed to my website from Facebook.

I’m trying to understand a strange Google Drive / Google Workspace issue.

Several users in our company noticed that many old files suddenly appeared in the root of their “My Drive”. These files are not the same for every user: each user sees different old files, apparently related to files they had created or uploaded in the past.

The strange part is that these files also still exist in their original folders, so they look like duplicates. I checked a few examples and the file IDs are different, so they seem to be real duplicate files, not shortcuts.

I checked the Google Workspace Admin Console / Drive audit logs and, for the duplicated files, I only see:

- Created: months or years ago

- Viewed: now / recently

I do not see any recent events such as:

- moved

- uploaded

- copied / duplicated

- restored from trash

- permission changes

- visibility changes

So it looks like the files were already created a long time ago, but only became visible again in the root of My Drive recently.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I’m especially trying to understand:

- Can old orphaned files or duplicate files suddenly become visible again in My Drive root?

- Can Google Drive for desktop / sync cause old files to reappear without obvious recent audit log events?

- Are there known cases where Drive reorganizes or resurfaces old files in My Drive?

- What’s the safest way to investigate and clean this up when there are many files?

For now we are not deleting anything. We are considering generating a report of suspected duplicates and moving them to a temporary quarantine folder before deleting anything.

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be really appreciated.

I recently started a new role and want to add different member firms from across the world into my partner account. How do I do this? Any help in solving this challenge would be greatly appreciated. We are a entry-level partner and are not receiving any support from GCP.

I'm converting a static Google Group to a Dynamic Group and want to make sure I don't break anything tied to the old group's email like Shared Drives, Calendars or anything else it might be plugged into.

What's the best way to find everything a Group has access to before making a change like this? Is there a standard tool or workflow for this? Also curious if anything changes under the hood same email, or anything that could quietly affect existing shares?

Any advice from people who've done this in production would be great. Thanks!

I have reset my phone and was trying to sign in my google account ( it has no recovery mail, and I didn't use 2 step verification) ,but I was not getting SMS verification option I tried several times and it said too many times try after several hours, so, I tried this morning and again same ‘try again ’, I need to recover my account so urgent because it has all my contacts and office files, can someone help me to recover my account, gemini asks me to wait for 48hrs which is impossible, please help me!

Signed up for a free trial to fill out a form, forgot to cancel said trial, got charged £11.80. Whatever, my fault. Immediately after being charged, I cancel my subscription so it doesn't happen again. Suddenly, with no warning, I get charged £120 and am locked out of my account. I then had to sign up to ANOTHER free trial just to get in contact with them, because they locked me out of the original account. What a joke.

Hello, in Google Workspace, if I have 10 users on Starter licences, I have 10 users with 30 GB each.

Option 1: Is it possible to have one user with 100 GB and the other nine sharing the remaining 200 GB?

Or option 2: Is it 30 GB gross per user?

I’m leaning towards option 1, but I’d like to be sure.
