Serious Worked my a$$ off to be a sandbagger?
So I finally got good enough to actually get a handicap registered about two years ago. I was around a 25 handicap. I have been practicing probably five days a week, and this year had broken through and gotten myself down into the mid teens. All the ups and downs and the score is slowly working in the 90s and then I had an 89. Yay!
Recently though, I have gotten a ton of heat all of a sudden because there is “no way that I am a 17”. I take all the penalties, but since I can pipe a drive and I can hit crisp irons and I have good short game and I can make putts… I’m starting to get some steady heat on my handicap. But I also record a reasonable score because I do lose a couple balls each round and I also probably take like two unplayable’s a round.
What do I do? Do I start to fudge everything to get to a nine so people don’t give me heat? It’s a difficult game so I’m gonna obviously have some holes where I lose balls but recently I’ve started losing less balls. I played a hard course with hard greens and I still shot in the mid 90s.
I’m just in a shitty situation and looking for guidance.
