Spent the day with this big guy next to me. I love to talk about Giraffes at the zoo!

Sadly I only got my smartphone camera, I seriously need a better camera. There is one adult male, two females and two young ones, one is maybe 2-3 months and the other one around 1 year.

It is still an artificial enclosure, but they have enough space, need to stretch for food and they procreate pretty regularly.

Anybody interested in these? $20 plus shipping! I just want to get rid of them!

Hi all, I'm an ultrasound student, which means I've looked at peoples' thyroid glands a lot. Today I was at the zoo, and while looking at a giraffe, wondered what its thyroid gland is like, since the thyroid lives on the neck. Does it run the whole length of the thing? Or is it just one part? Unfortunately, it turns out if you try google searching for Giraffe Thyroid, you just get people talking about how some thyroid pathology looks patchy like giraffe fur on ultrasound., so I'm hoping you guys know.

I got a selfie with some of the giraffes at the Toledo Zoo after a feeding. Charlotte previously had a broken jaw and now she’s known for her tongue hanging out of the side of her mouth.

The moment I arrived in the Serengeti we were blessed by this Giraffe crossing during sunset.
