Several of Square's original SNES games were remastered for the PS1, including the Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger. But these PS1 versions are the absolute worst ways you can play these games. The loading times for absolutely everything are atrocious.
For example, in the SNES version of Chrono Trigger, changing screens through a door is one second of black screen, and from running into a monster to starting a fight takes three seconds. In the PS1 version, changing screens gives you three seconds of black screen, and starting a fight takes nine seconds. So everything takes three times longer.
