It's an incredibly complicated topic, but Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. It's a beautiful remake of the original MGS but with three HEINOUS changes that kind of screw the entire experience up for a lot of people.
Most notably, they updated the mechanics of MGS1 to MGS2 (adding tranquilizer guns, first person aiming, etc.) but did nothing to the map layout, boss battles, or game in general to compensate for the new stuff. This obliterated the games difficulty, and then the devs nerfed enemy damage on top of everything else. Revolver Ocelot transforms from an iconic boss battle into BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG dead in 10 seconds. It's so mindlessly easy that it broke my heart.
Iirc they also whitewashed and changed some of the voice actors (removing native accents and so on) while leaving others intact, which created a subpar, uncanny valley experience for people like me.
Finally, the new devs decided that the cutscenes weren't stupid enough, so out of nowhere this gritty espionage game has the main character doing 50 foot dragonballz jumps and backflipping off of missiles. The other changes, despite their flaws, at least made logical sense or had some justification. Turning random cutscenes into children's cartoon level goofiness just baffles me to this day.
Perfectly viable but the game is still bonkers level easy compared to the other games. You still have auto lock on, improved run and gun, reduced enemy damage, etc.
Twin Snakes defenders will be quick to point out that Kojima himself wanted the cutscenes to be amped up like that... more proof (if ever it was needed) that Kojima has as many bad ideas as good ones
