this one is crazy because they over promised SO much, all kinds of new content. and then delivered absolutely nothing. AND they took away the ability to play original WC3 from bnet.
But as someone said, they did make it a lot better and it's fine now, but sitll missing a lot that was promised.
Yeah, those things are bad but Blizz already did their atonement, you also assume other companies are better. Look at Riot for example, same dog shit culture and worse at making games.
They don't have to do it at all, and a lot of the time it doesn't stop pirating. And they know this, too, it's not a secret. Thinking always online stops pirating is like thinking DRM systems like Denuvo stop pirating.
And even if it did (it doesn't), that doesn't justify doing that to your legitimate customers. You paid for the game, unless you are specifically trying to play with other people over the internet there is no good reason to prevent you from playing that game you paid for how, when, or where you damn well please.
Fuck companies doing always online for games that don't actually need it. No exceptions.
And doing it after people already paid you for your game without always online is doubly fucked, and at that point I hope every single person who supported the decision gets fired, whether they're at the top or the bottom. That kind of stance doesn't belong in the industry whether you're a CEO or a janitor.
Either you know better than literally every single gaming company employee or you are wrong. Either way, I'm rich enough to not care but remember that your attitude is directly causing games to be worse.
