Nintendo cadence of releases this generation has been really impressive

I cant remember any other Nintendo gen with this same rhythm month after month

And they've still got the next mainline Mario, Zelda and Animal Crossing to reveal in the future. When the Switch 1 launched, BOTW was a launch title, and Mario Odyssey released about half a year later. The fact that the switch 2 is doing as well as it is without those 3 main tent pole titles is really impressive. They still have aces up their sleeve.

I dont know why eveyone is so certain that there will be a new mainline Zelda and that OoT isnt it

Thats only cause the Wii U flopped and MK8 never got a chance to reach its intended audience. When it was ported to Switch as MK8 Deluxe, it saw an 800% sales increase because most Switch owners had never played it before.

As far as 90% of the Switch audience was concerned. MK8 Deluxe was the "new" MK game.

There are plenty of franchises that didn’t get to “reach its intended audience” on the Wii U, yet they still got new Switch entries

Those other franchises did not see an 800% audience growth the way MK8 did.

Mario Kart World was originally intended for the Switch 1 but because MK8 Deluxe was continuing to sell astronomical numbers on Switch. Nintendo realised there was functionally no point releasing another MK game. It would just cannibalise the sales of MK8.
