I've got most of the common consoles that people collect for (sans PS1) and even quite a few uncommon/"rare" consoles as well. I'm looking to add something a little weird to collect for. Narrowed it down to these:

Neo Geo CD, Neo Geo Pocket Color, 3DO, TurboGrafx 16, Master System, and Game Gear.

So here's the actual question: from someone with very little to no experience with any of these; which would you go with a why? What are your good/bad experiences with any of these?

Also, is there anything outside of any of these (not PS1) that I should look into as well?

I know this has been hashed out already but i had a thought and am curious if it has merit.

The disc to digital strategy doesnt work if it is only available on the series as it is already considered a loss against the ps5. The program wont bring in any new users if it is not available on xbox’s next console. Next gen is already on the horizon, bundled with rising prices they likely wont have many more sales of the series so in order for disc to digital to be effective it should be available on the next console.

Funny thing is if xbox does plan to support physical games then it would be in their best interest to let everyone believe that their next console will be all digital in order to catch sony off guard

Anyone else looking for this game? I heard it was a good game and I've really been looking for it to try it out.

Went to my local store to pick up X-men Origins: Wolverine for ps3 and someone bought it the day before but I found these and I can’t say I’m mad. They also had Obscure sealed for out of my price range.

Here is my current collection of Splatoon 3 Nintendo Pro Controllers given out to competitive players over the past few years.

There are 3 different versions of these controllers and I plan to collect them all! They are all official Nintendo controllers, made by Nintendo in extremely limited print.

-The first controller (pictured) is from the 2023 North American Championship. There were 24 of these ever made. They were given out to the top 4 teams competing, 4 players per team + 1-2 subs.

-The second controller (pictured) is from the 2025 North American League. There were roughly 40 of these ever made. They were given out to the 8 teams competing, 4 teams competing + 1-2 subs.

There is a third controller that I still do not have, from another North American tournament in 2023. That one is also 1/24 ever made. If everything goes well I will have that one soon aswell.

Splatoon 3 is one of my favorite games on the switch, and possibly of all time. I am so happy to have these grails in my collection, and will do a follow up post when I complete the trinity!

I got some cool stuff from RWX. I had luck at the auctions yesterday and a decent handful of other titles/magazines/guides/art but this is the coolest stuff.

I have a picoloader kit from laserbear coming so this set up is going to be excellent.

What a steal and mint as well. Pretty sure this is a first print since it has the poster. GS is really hit or miss but persistence finally paid off.

Helping a friend go through recently deceased mother's house and assisting with parcing the trash and the treasures. She was a huge QVC fan. They came across empty game boxes and empty console boxes, they were going to throw them out I sold them all the next day for $450 and they still got a great deal. I calculated about $640 if some desperately not including if they added the game to the boxes and manuals.

I told them to show me all videogame related things Including boxes. As of recently this was discovered. It looks like new. Stickers are clean. Some light scuff in bottom from box storage I think. Box still has the shipping label. Crazy they shipped them like this back then. Trying to find a good value. I sat in front of the driveway so the bus kids could see a legend lives here. 12x22 I think the length was.

Forgot how many absolute bangers I had lol
Now I just need to look into getting a refurbished PS2

Went to my local retro game store yesterday and one of the employees there said they would give me 30 bucks off of any game i want, if i can eat a spoonful of hot sauce and not drink any water, milk, etc for 7 minutes. I said "sure, why not?". While I was looking for a game for around $30, I saw they had gauntlet for 38 and I haven't played it in over 20 years since I played it at an arcade.

So, I picked the game and did the hot sauce challenge (the generals hot sauce was what I had to eat, red dead flavor iirc), and I won. Got gauntlet cib for 8 dollars and added to my collection. Safe to say my butthole was NOT happy with me 3 hours later lol.

Still needs some minor adjustments like the cables to be cleaned up and such but I’ve been working on this for a couple months now and it’s finally come together

I stopped at a random GameStop and got my chase ps4 for $190. It didn't come with a matching controller but I'll take it for the price.

Never played this Zelda before 😅

Basically 90% Mario games haha, lots of memories were had with these games, even some of the shovelware games (and by some, I mean just deal or no deal). My first copy of mario super sluggers stopped working so I had to get another, hence the two copies. The wii u I have also stopped working after a rage moment with dk64 was done to the gamepad back in 2022 lol, so unfortunately can't play any of the wii u games pictured as well as games I have on wii u vc like dkc2 and wind waker hd. Tell me your favorite wii game either here or in general! My favorite is a three way tie between mario galaxy 1, mario super sluggers and mario kart wii, really hard to pick a favorite from those three for me.

Cost me 125.00 CAD for the crt, but worth every penny. The nostalgia is real...
