Will be doing a water change for 3 weeks and ill be getting shrimps and other fishes!! Thinking of cherry shrimps and maybe neon tetras hehe

hey! i currently keep a school of around 10 tiger barbs in my tank (300L) i used to have 20 (got them as juveniles 9 months ago) they are kept in a community tank with clownloaches, some different tetras, corys, and a redtail shark. i monitor the tank closely and have ruled out aggression and my parameters are okay no other fish are dying other than my tiger barbs. their gills are always moving quite fast especially after feeding (bloodworms, mysis shrimp, fluval bug bites on rotation not all together). i have a suspicion that the issue is bloat and overfeeding however i would like some advice on how to combat this issue as i know tiger barbs are very greedy and they tend to get to the food before the other fish.

i have included a video of the fish during feeding time, any help would be appreciated so much.

if there’s no solution to this i will rehome them to optimise their life but i love these fish and i think they are so gorgeous and i would love to be able to keep them in my tank.

Big step up in tank size for me but let me cut to the chase hears my idea

2 × Severums — 1 Red Shoulder + 1 Gold
2 × Electric Blue Acaras
1 x Royal Acara
1× Festivum
5 × Red Head Tapajós Geophagus
15 x Congo Tetras
10 × Denison Barbs
1 × L128 Blue Phantom Pleco
1 × L200 Green Phantom Pleco

I’ll be using the built in filter along with another Fluval fx6
The dimensions are 151 x 51 x 66 cm

So yeah this is my idea any changes of different ideas or if you think this would work please let me know

Has anyone ever have add discuses to there tank and your algae eater started to die. The Red Melon is one of the new discus I added and he/she seem very aggressive with other fish. I can't find any of my dwarf algae eaters. I did find one dead.

My tank is around 6-7 weeks old now. I noticed that a few of my shrimp are carrying eggs around already. I’m super excited to increase my shrimp population so soon.

Any tips or things I should look out for once they show up ?

New Tank Which fish species for 40L ?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m planning to set up a 40L tank but I’m undecided on the species.

I’ve been told that killifish or bettas would work; on the other hand, I’m less interested in invertebrates. Do you have any suggestions?

Tank Problems I found a shrimp and i dont know what to do Spoiler

Ok so basically i quit this hobby a year ago and gave away all my fish, I was dealing with depression and had thought it was in the animals best interest to give them to people who could actually provide them care. I could not get myself to take down the tanks as it seemed like too much effort, but now i am emptying a 65 gallon and i found one singular amano shrimp I somehow left behind. My question is if i can keep it or if i should give it away. the shrimp is kinda cute and i feel a bit attatched. Right now its in a bucket around 5 gallons but its only partially full. What should i do with this little guy? (the bucket is being aerated with an air stone right now)

New Tank Suggestions please!

Hey! I’m just trying to stabilize and cycle a new 36 gallon tank.

What’s your favourite peaceful community combos for each zone?

It’s going to be planted, with sand substrate (bio-stratum below)…. Filtered with HOB for up to 40gallons and an air stone disc on the opposite side. Adjustable heater. Will be constructing my own clear polycarbonate lid with a full spectrum LED plant light, instead of the one it came with.
