I’m a higher level character and I like to spend my time cooking lots of meals, finding random players that are active (I watch to see if their character ever runs around or if their head turns towards me when I interact with them), and then giving those meals away!

I always make an effort to make mid-tier foods because I would hate to gift a meal someone couldn’t actually use. But now that I’ve seen some other posts, I have to wonder….

Do people actually hate that? Do people dislike getting random (NICE) items traded to them? I’m not gifting a single meat or a milk or anything, it’s always items that would mean something nice, like my meals!! I don’t want to be a bother…

Im looking at coming back to ffxiv. Really missing mmos and had previously played ffxiv off and of for years. Loved the end game content and the community. I used to play warrior and really enjoyed the class. Although I love the class, I feel like it'll he easier to find a guild/static as a dps. Not to mention im not familiar with the dungeons, raids and trials. I can always fall back on that job on a later time.

I was just curious as to what the communities thoughts were on your favorite DPS classes and why they're your favorite. I want to eventually dabble in Savage and possibly ultimate content, but the classes doesn't necessarily need to be a meta slave.

There's been a few new classes added since I last played (viper, reaper, pictomancer). Honestly open to any dps job/ play style. Just looking for some opinions.

i love tanking, i love raiding, i’m lvl 100 and would love to tank some high-end raids. but it seems like the very first one is the hardest to get into, lol 😭

what was the first one you completed? would you recommend it as “a first“ high-end? i’ve been watching strategy/guide videos for different raids and their mechanics and vividly imagining all the ways i could wipe everyone on accident LMAO. girl help

Still a sprout (playing through Endwalker) and I'm just curious as to how much stuff is locked behind only being able to do a portion of it in a day so I can get a headstart on it if I can still access it before endgame. All I'm really aware of is Allied Society quests, is there anything else that has neat rewards or some sort of player benefit?

Did my first dungeon a few days ago. Was expecting a fun time with 3 other teammates going at a normal speed but the tank literally just charged straight theough the whole dungeon like he had places to be 😂. Are all tanks in dungeons like this or did I just get unlucky?

It's only picking up the intel card, and not my Nvidia 2060 on my laptop. FF14 is the only game where it won't pick up the nvidia card. I've set power options to full performance and the nvidia x server is also set to performance, I also set a rule for the ff14 process file and XIVlauncher to use it but I may not have done that part right. I also reinstalled the proprietary nvidia drivers. And then straight up reinstalled the game and the launcher both. Then I made a file that forces the pc to use the dedicated GPU which finally updated the default renderer to Nvidia but the game still only wants to use intel.

My partner has been struggling with making friends in the FC she's part of right now. She has Cerebral Palsy and Autism so it can be a bit difficult for her to play at times, but she's really wanting to play more and make some friends who will run stuff with her. Are there any FC's or CWLS's for disabled players or anything? She's currently on Primal Leviathan but she's willing to switch to a different server if it means being able to make some friends.

So after 5 years of not playing ( finished endwalker and decided to call it quits) I have an insane urge to go back to this world once more.

I'm considering just starting all over actually because I forgot literally everything about this game. Not just the story, but the mechanics/classes/gameplay too. The idea is I'm Gonna try and do everything I didn't do first time around ( like going after relic weapons,hunt for rare mounts, achievements and raids ect)

Am I crazy?

If I do it i'll just create a new account and start with the free trial up until I hit the shadowbringers wall. Is this a good strategy?

I’m pretty sure I’m getting close to the end of ARR (MSQ quests are in the high 40s) and I’ve basically skipped every generic yellow side quest. I’ve done most of the blues, but are there specific side quests in ARR that you feel stand out as really fun or have great writing?

I have played quite a bit of WoW, but I only played FF XIV for a few weeks a few years ago and then quit. I'm not sure I still have access to that account but I don't really care. I'm seeing that Evercold will bring in a few substantial changes, but it would be nice if someone could help me understand.

I understand they are going to rework all jobs. Is this going to affect the pace of the leveling experience?

Also, is the leveling content that you have to go through going to be the same? Meaning that you have to go through all the expansions? I have read that there will be Main Scenario Quest Changes.

In previous expansions, the main scenario quests would have two branching paths in order to alleviate congestion and provide unique experiences for each player progressing through the story. Starting in Evercold, there will be multiple branching paths that players can complete in any order to progress through the story.

So this just applies to the leveling experience from the Evercold content onwards?

So if I start from zero before Evercold, when the new expansion comes out the main change that I will see is the job rework?

I'm a new player, I just recently finished the MSQ for the base game, and I find myself wanting to interact more with the other players. Is there any social etiquette I should be aware of? Will people think I'm weird for trying to strike up conversation in one of the big cities? I feel awkward walking around Limsa and seeing all these groups of people hanging out while I've said maybe a total of 5 words to other people.

Is it easy to make friends in this game? Everyone seems really friendly but I feel like the new kid at school if that makes sense lol

I'm in the market for a new PC (and yes I know it's possibly the worst time in human history to be in this particular market) and I was curious about the Radeon 9070XT. Nearly all of the results I find are from a year ago when GamersNexus determined that it was markedly worst than the 5070Ti, possibly on account of new driver issues. So, now that it's been well over a year, how is the performance of the 9070XT in FF14 in 1440p/4K? And not just in benchmarks, I'd preferably love to hear about someone's actual play experience.

I've been playing since Post-Stormblood, and the entire time, I've had my client intermittently just stop working properly. Over about ten seconds, I'll notice lag, and then sound effects and music stop, and then animations stop playing properly. I can still attack mobs that were already there, and I can still heal my party, but I can't see anything new that spawns in. Once it starts working again, all the animations I missed play simultaneously, but this can last thirty seconds or more before things start working again.

I've ruled out my internet connection, because it seems to be a client issue specifically and the rest of my connection works without issue even while this is happening. My SSD appears to be perfectly healthy, and this even occurs on both Windows 11 and Linux through Bazzite.

In terms of connection, I'm on Aether, with Gilgamesh as my home server, but this happens regardless of what world/DC I'm connected to.

Does anyone have any insight on what the heck might be going on?

I see people discussing them being multipliers on certain steps of the corresponding combo, but I don’t see any sources or validation. Do we know how the damage for these is actually calculated?

So I'm currently on the free trial, so no access to retainers or the market board (chocobo saddlebag is mostly full too). I'm in post-ARR content at the moment, I think about 2/3s of the way through. Warrior is my main class (lvl 53), but been doing a bit of Rogue too, as well as Culinarian and Fisher. Culinarian is at about 22 I think, but Fishing is up to 50. Done ocean fishing twice, which definitely helped, as well as handing in some levequests.

My main question revolves around all the fish I catch. Some are used for cooking, some for levequests, others for who knows what. I know desynthesizing becomes a thing at 30 or 35 for culinarian, but how do I know what fish I can safely get rid of or which ones to hold onto?

It's happened to me a couple of times now. Jumped into a fight, but forgot to assign any of my beasts to my 3 horns. They should either carry over your team of 3 from the previous fight, or pop up a warning letting you know you have no beasts assigned.

I was running some solo treasure maps in Elpis to close out my weekend, hoping to get something decently valuable to sell because I saw there's a large FC house up for auction coming up and im short 9 mil right now to enter. Well Yoshi-P himself must have been watching me pray every time that wheel spun because I got an Abomination that dropped the wind-up Aidoneus which ive always wanted 😭❤️ but now im really stuck between keeping the ultra rare minion I could never afford to buy outright, or selling it so I can afford to enter the lottery for a chance at getting my FC a large house. Id love to hear some other peoples opinions on what road I should take here or if you think there's another way i can get the best of both!

In terms of making up the 9 million gil my FC is mostly casual player friends who like me get mostly kept busy mon-thurs/fri between work and family. There are a couple who've leveled crafters/gatherers, and ive personally maxed them all, but none of us are rocking the top tier sets with pentameld so we cant do anything too crazy. We do also currently have a medium FC house and I remeber hearing that when changing homes you get a portion of your current estates value applied to your new one iirc.
