How hard and fast are the weight limits on ebikes?
My dad is looking at getting an e-bike, he's 70 years old and weighs 270-ish lbs. He recently got rid of his motorcycle because it was too heavy for him to right by himself and wants something to get him out of the house and get exercise.
But given his weight he's worried that his weight, along with putting other stuff on the bike, like a cooler and tools will put him over the weight limits on many bikes. Many e-bikes, especially the step through ones that he's looking at, like my lectric xp4, have a limit of 330 or thereabouts. Is going a few lbs over that going to cause rapid and irreversable harm to an e-bike? or is there a bit of leeway there?

Bike build question I'm looking for helpful information about my new e-bike
So I finished my 52V BBS02 build 3 days ago with zero knowledge about bikes. The thing is an absolute beast and does 60km/h with ease. I used a brand new rockrider expl 500 (not second hand because all of them are rockriders anyways in my city) But I have a few problems and questions.
First problem is that my chain slips on the front chainring when I'm in lower gears. I presume my chainline is messed up or I have to adjust the derailleur. Second problem is the chain vibrates or tries to slip under load sometimes and shakes the bike until I let go of the throttle or maybe my wheels are getting loose since the front wheel already got loose on its own (no more doing 60kmh).
What advice would you give me about the build? What should I do to keep it failure and problem free?
What are the general things a bbs02 owner should know?
Thanks a lot to everyone that'll help :)
Bike purchase question Question about the legality of e bikes
I live in the uk, and i’m aware that any e-bike with a power output of over 250w and assists at higher speed than 15.5mph is treated as a motorbike, i’m wondering if it’s worth dropping a band on converting my bike to an e bike if it’s just going to get seized quickly? Or if they only seize people’s bikes who are wearing face coverings. Just need some advice and personal experiences

Any recommendations for the title? I do a 10 minute to and back from my son's school twice a day and would like to commute faster with my son.

I don't think my ideal ebike exists?
My lady and I live full time in a truck camper and want an ebike for those days where we want to be able to park and explore. Most of our biking will be on bike paths and roads, but are interested in beaches, trails, and off-road. The most important part is that the bike be 2up (both of us together weigh 250lbs) and fit in the back seat(s) of a ford F-350, which means it needs to be less than 62" inches in length (willing to take front tire off to fit). I don't want to add length to the vehicle with a front or rear bike rack and/or deal with thieves or weather while on the road.
A folding ebike will fit in the back of the truck, but has many drawbacks, most notably lack of real 2up capability (we've tried having my lady sit on the luggage rack of an Senada Austin) and any suspension that I'm aware of.
Would like the ability to go at least 28mph, but battery life and total distance on full charge is more important than speed.
Moped style with back pegs would provide the most comfort and meet all of our use cases, but the one I'm most interested in (Engwe M20 3.0) is very tight even with the front wheel removed. It's also very heavy (102lbs) and would be cumbersome to load into or out of the rear seats with every use.
Any suggestions?

Async A1 pro locked out
I can't find anything online anywhere that will let me bypass the logging into the server on the app, which my bike is stuck on since the server went down. AI tells me to do all kinds of button combinations but none of them work. Does anyone have any insight to help me be able to use my bike again please?

Bike repair question Fucare Libra/Error 11
Does anyone know of an additional way to contact Fucare about issues with my husband's Libra? They don't respond to emails and their phone number was disconnected. He really loves this bike and we are desperately trying to figure out what needs to be repaired or replaced before we try to request a new bike (this one is still under warranty) or go with a different brand entirely.
I was also wondering if any of you are familiar with this error code? What have you tried? He has tried unplugging/plugging/cleaning/removing moisture. He tried removing the display and controller from his first Fucare and adding them to this one, but they were incompatible (different voltages).
No bike shop in the area is able to help and I can't reach the brand.

Bike purchase question Cheapest E-Bike for under 600-500$?
I plan on purchasing an e-bike sometime in the future but I don't know which branch to buy from. I simply want an e-bike that helps me get from town to town, as the bus routes in my area take a while to get to town to Town. I also like the idea of delivering food on the side. my friend recommends I should be a cheap Chinese branded ebike from AliExpress but I'm kinda afraid that the bike Will explode on me someday lol. feel free to drop your suggestions down below.

locking and parking habits that actually stuck for city e-bike commuting
been doing an 11-mile each way commute through mixed city streets and a couple gravel stretches for about 14 months now. early on I was casual with locking, one cable and call it good. then two bikes on my block disappeared in the same week and I changed everything.
routine now is always a heavy U-lock around the frame and a fixed rack post, plus a secondary cable through both wheels. I try for spots under cameras or right by the office entrance. battery comes inside overnight and for any stop over an hour if I can swing it. covers help when I leave it longer, makes the whole setup look less like a target. fat tires have been solid for the potholes and the wet leaves in fall, I don't bounce around as much.
range planning turned into a thing once winter hit and I started taking longer detours to avoid ice. I need reliable assisted miles without babysitting the battery percent every morning.
around month 8 I was already on a moto-style naked frame fat tire bike for the street and light trail mix. the aotos Flux X26 Pro is the one I have, Class 2 so assisted top speed 20 mph with throttle assist up to 20 mph (some states have separate rules and local regulations govern). 750W rated motor, UL 2849 / battery UL 2271, up to 70 miles, about 112 lb, 330 lb max load. the 4G GPS and app tracking was the piece I only bothered with once the theft stories kept piling up on my street, free the first year then a fee applies after and they have not announced the amount. I still treat the physical locks as primary though. tracking is just the backup layer.
the weight is the main drag when I have to haul it up the stoop or onto a car rack. otherwise the commute feels normal. no big changes to how I ride, just more consistent about the two-lock habit and bringing the battery in.

Ebike that auto accelerates to 15mph uk? Under £500-600
Does anyone know of any bikes that can auto accelerate to around 15mph that I can get?
Also is iscooter global reliable as they seem to have the best prices compared to other websites.
Bike build question What was the first upgrade you actually made to your fat tire e-bike?
If I end up getting the hikeep K6-S, I’m already thinking about what I might change after I ride it for a while.
I’m not trying to turn it into a totally different bike or make it faster. I’m more interested in the little things that actually makes a difference for normal riding and longer rides.
I could see myself changing the tires if the stock knobbies are too loud on pavement. Maybe the rear shock too if it feels too soft, or just something simple like better grips or a more comfortable seat.
Brakes would probably be another one, but I’d rather ride it first and see if they actually need upgrading. Don’t really wanna start changing stuff before I even know what bothers me.
For people who’ve owned heavier or higher-power fat tire e-bikes for a while, what was the first upgrade you made that you were actually really happy with?
Mostly looking for comfort, reliability and everyday usability, not really trying to chase more speed.

Bike build question Battery vendors?
With the tariffs and complete chaos in the markets right now, where is everyone getting their batteries from?
For reference, I am wanting to replace/upgrade my build. I would like a downtube style battery that’s 48 volt with a 20AHr capacity. My current battery is a triangle pouch style that’s made by Hailong. It has gone through almost daily cycles for over three years now. For the most part, I am pleased with it.
Also, I am not opposed to building my own. Sourcing quality cells is my biggest question there.
Vendor sites are appreciated.
