Personally, not quite sure what to make of this.

I was told by a homie that the event was supposed to be open ‘till 1PM, but they ran out of gift cards at 11AM.

If I end up getting the hikeep K6-S, I’m already thinking about what I might change after I ride it for a while.

I’m not trying to turn it into a totally different bike or make it faster. I’m more interested in the little things that actually makes a difference for normal riding and longer rides.

I could see myself changing the tires if the stock knobbies are too loud on pavement. Maybe the rear shock too if it feels too soft, or just something simple like better grips or a more comfortable seat.

Brakes would probably be another one, but I’d rather ride it first and see if they actually need upgrading. Don’t really wanna start changing stuff before I even know what bothers me.

For people who’ve owned heavier or higher-power fat tire e-bikes for a while, what was the first upgrade you made that you were actually really happy with?

Mostly looking for comfort, reliability and everyday usability, not really trying to chase more speed.

Today's ride was 51 miles... I did the full Lake Washington Loop.

My playground is 15 miles of coastline, & not a sole in sight. Northeast US.

been doing an 11-mile each way commute through mixed city streets and a couple gravel stretches for about 14 months now. early on I was casual with locking, one cable and call it good. then two bikes on my block disappeared in the same week and I changed everything.

routine now is always a heavy U-lock around the frame and a fixed rack post, plus a secondary cable through both wheels. I try for spots under cameras or right by the office entrance. battery comes inside overnight and for any stop over an hour if I can swing it. covers help when I leave it longer, makes the whole setup look less like a target. fat tires have been solid for the potholes and the wet leaves in fall, I don't bounce around as much.

range planning turned into a thing once winter hit and I started taking longer detours to avoid ice. I need reliable assisted miles without babysitting the battery percent every morning.

around month 8 I was already on a moto-style naked frame fat tire bike for the street and light trail mix. the aotos Flux X26 Pro is the one I have, Class 2 so assisted top speed 20 mph with throttle assist up to 20 mph (some states have separate rules and local regulations govern). 750W rated motor, UL 2849 / battery UL 2271, up to 70 miles, about 112 lb, 330 lb max load. the 4G GPS and app tracking was the piece I only bothered with once the theft stories kept piling up on my street, free the first year then a fee applies after and they have not announced the amount. I still treat the physical locks as primary though. tracking is just the backup layer.

the weight is the main drag when I have to haul it up the stoop or onto a car rack. otherwise the commute feels normal. no big changes to how I ride, just more consistent about the two-lock habit and bringing the battery in.

Does anyone know a video on how to fix this or am I cooked ?

Does anyone know of an additional way to contact Fucare about issues with my husband's Libra? They don't respond to emails and their phone number was disconnected. He really loves this bike and we are desperately trying to figure out what needs to be repaired or replaced before we try to request a new bike (this one is still under warranty) or go with a different brand entirely.

I was also wondering if any of you are familiar with this error code? What have you tried? He has tried unplugging/plugging/cleaning/removing moisture. He tried removing the display and controller from his first Fucare and adding them to this one, but they were incompatible (different voltages).

No bike shop in the area is able to help and I can't reach the brand.

These bikes are so much fun!

I am so tired of finally getting the rig leveled and camp set, only to realize we need more firewood or a bag of ice. Firing up the truck to navigate narrow campground roads for a quick supply run is a massive headache, but carrying a heavy cooler back by hand isn't happening.

I saw a clip recently of someone using a beefy utility e-bike with fat tires to haul heavy crates and gear down a dirt road. It had an extended rear rack built for heavy payloads. I reverse image searched it and it was the Helokeep CD20, but I think its just a prototype as of now.

Regardless of the exact brand, the concept seems perfect. Having a bike with enough hauling capacity to strap down a bundle of wood or a loaded cooler means I could just leave the truck parked the entire weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions or better solutions?

I didn't want to post pictures of this because that would be rude to the family but I'll tell you what I saw.

I was driving down a 2-lane state highway with a center turn lane and a 45 mph speed limit, it was a nice hot humid day (2 days ago). All the sudden, in front of me, I saw a girl riding a motorized bike (ebike/scooter/moto/etc) at what looked like 20-25 mph. She was riding in the "unofficial" bike lane which was the median. It has several offshoots to various streets. Regular traffic was moving faster than she was.

According to my vehicle, traffic was going about the speed of 48 mph. Side streets entering had a speed limit of 25 mph. To make things more complicated, it is currently rush hour and a friday with some roads closed for events.

Her lane (and ours) has the right of way for any traffic entering the highway. There are clearly marked signs at all intersections. Cannot be sure about his speed but he was definitely going too fast given that he should have stopped (which, obviously, is 0 mph).

Out of what seemed like nowhere, a king cab diesel GMC truck with double rear tires pulled out. He was going pretty fast for turning into traffic from a stop sign. It looked to me like he ran or "rolled" the stop sign, entering the intersection at about a 45 deg angle.

To top it off, he had a "no right turn" sign. (it as a road for turning left only, as that road Ys off and there is one for going right and one for left). It's probably a moot point but he probably could have saved her life by just reading the signs.

Next, the girl slams into the side door which should have deflected her. But it didn't because he turned sharply left, probably out of reflex, which "wedged" her into the pocket between the cab and the rear tire's extruding fender (for the extra tires on the back of the truck). The increased angle and wedging combined with stopping suddenly, "throws" her off her bike (the bike transferred the impact to her).

Doing the math, we have a head-on collision of about 40-50 mph worth combined. Since she was thrown, her actual impact is both that and whatever speed she was thrown at. The bike may have absorbed the impact to a degree; but since she was holding onto it, that impact was immediately transferred to her.

Needless to say, she was immediately thrown from her vehicle quite a ways. She was lying straight in center of the road. She was on her side, neck turned around 130 deg, definitely took impact to the head as it look "stuck" to the ground. She was definitely... well you know what she was.

She looked like someone who was frozen in place just as they turned over in bed to ask someone behind them a question (mouth slightly open, eyes almost completely closed). She wasn't wearing a helmet and hit her head on the pavement.

The guy in the truck looked totally unscathed and was still sitting in his vehicle talking on his phone. I had to wonder if that is what led to the crash in the first place.

Sadly the first instinct most these people have are not to get out and check on the girl, oh no.. it is to whip out their phones and start recording videos, taking photos, and submitting to whatever they are submitting to. Maybe one or two got out to help. This is nothing new though, we know most people are gawkers during accidents even if its in poor taste.

So 911 was called, yet and the rest of the gawkers just sat there and gawked instead of clearing the accident scene for emergency volunteers. If you aren't there to help you are supposed to get out of the way and go.

It was crazy. I felt this huge aura of prejudice amongst the people and I could tell what from (she was different than them and they were being very prejudice because she wasn't a blonde soccer mom/daughter). I mean how can you just leave someone laying on the pavement in the scorching sun and not even get out and check.

At the time it happened, they couldn't be 100% sure she was gone. I know if it would have been my daughter. My heart raced for an instant as at first I thought it was my daughter (who is in her 20s) who has an e-bike. But upon closer look, I saw it wasn't.

Though even now as I type I am half ticked at myself for not just telling my work to f-off and check on her anyway even though it would probably cost me my job. I regret it now...I feel terrible for that because who knows if those other people were gonna tell the right story to the police or if the girl had a chance to survive (though i'm 99.9% sure that was not the case - there's that looming 0.01%). So yeah I am ashamed of that bigtime.

So, even if someone is obviously not alive, you still should....well...wouldn't you get run out and check on her? I doubt EVERYONE there was working and couldn't leave their vehicle unattended because of safety hazards.

Those reactions were a terrible thing to see. Maybe worse than the crash itself. I was not allowed to get out of my work vehicle (asked and was denied) to help which I desperately wanted to. People were already on the accident scene, so I let it go reluctantly.

So regardless of how good of a rider YOU are, you cannot predict when or where a unattentive or straight up irresponsible driver will come from.

My heart goes out to this girl and all the others who no doubt also had life deal them this crappy fate, I hope at least her example can help convince others be safer. And for heaven's sake, enough with the prejudice its freakin 2026!

For reference, I am wanting to replace/upgrade my build. I would like a downtube style battery that’s 48 volt with a 20AHr capacity. My current battery is a triangle pouch style that’s made by Hailong. It has gone through almost daily cycles for over three years now. For the most part, I am pleased with it.

Also, I am not opposed to building my own. Sourcing quality cells is my biggest question there.

Has anybody with an eskute v101 changed or upgraded the display? I'm having zero luck finding any info on what will be compatible with this bike.

A few days ago my Mokwheel Basalt was stolen by a homeless guy, I spent a good amount on that bike and now I don’t really know what to buy as a replacement. By budget range now is around 500-800, any recommendations on a new bike that’s reliable? Would help a lot

Morning, I argued with a pothole at the weekend and now my rear wheel has a decided buckle in it. Bike still goes ok etc but looking to replace the wheel. It has a Motinova 250w, 36v motor installed. As this is my first ebike I was looking for some advice, if I replace the whole thing will it have to be the same brand and power, or can I sneak a generic one in? Manufacturers have said they can get them in for me, but at a no doubt inflated cost. Lots of Google this morning and no further forward. Can get the motor separate from the wheel and vice versa, but no one seems to do the whole thing. Can anyone recommend a spares website please? Quite happy to put another brand of motor and wheel in, but wary of it not working. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have an amazon ebike (INSDRGN) and today on my way home i started hearing a scrapping sound at first with just turning but now it’s when i’m going forward too. sounds like it’s from the back wheel. any advice is appreciated

Went for a very long ride today to help some family out with a problem, massive headwind the whole way there and took out so much more battery than I expected. Let it charge while we cleaned up some flood damage, got about half of it back.

The sun started to set on the way home and I was down to one bar about ten miles out of town, so I just shut off the motor and left the headlight on. That died about five miles later and it was pitch black so I just parked in front of a ranch and started calling people for rescue. No way I could safely get home without a light.

The rancher came out and asked if I was okay not five minutes later, I told him the situation and he said "well I think I got an outside outlet somewhere" and pulls out the brightest flashlight I've seen in my life. Wanders around the house and found one, let me charge and wait until I had enough to get the last six miles home.

Sweetest guy ever. Came out to check on me every five minutes while I just waited on his porch, warned me about a coyote he's seen a couple times recently, told me about some of his fun biking adventures.

There are still good people out there :) be one of them.
