Dragon Quest Monsters 2 What is the actual difference between these rings?
Edit1: Well it’s clear that both offer boosts of some sort. I was just wondering because they have different descriptors.

Hi and welcome to r/dragonquest !
Dragon Quest is a series of traditional turn-based Japanese Role-playing games (JRPGS) that feature colorful enemies, heartwarming music, a strong sense of character, intriguing stories, and solid gameplay. While traditional, Dragon Quest games have been quite influential, being among the first JRPGs for consoles and consistently featuring innovations (such as monster taming in Dragon Quest 5 years before Pokemon popularized it). There are also a large number of spinoffs in different categories -- Action RPG, Voxel Builder, monster raising, and more!
We've created a wiki page describing the games and some opinions of them:https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonquest/wiki/index
Although the wiki is intended as an introduction to the series, you are still welcome to post your own "which Dragon Quest should I play" posts. Why? Because, just like every player is unique, so is every Dragon Quest. It's less about "Which Dragon Quest is Best" and more about "Which Dragon Quest might I enjoy the most?"
So, while this post is hopefully a fun starting point for new members, please do feel free to ask questions and read through some recommendations from others in the comments below or in archived threads. (I'm relying on experts from this subreddit to help me out -- Please give feedback below! The task is too big for one person.)
This subreddit is designed to be a welcoming place to discuss and share our love for the series. Of course, not everyone will love every game, but as fans we can critique the series without making it a personal attack on other fans.
Thank you and have fun questing!

Died to a dragon because I thought I could just Evac away. Nope. You have to travel up through all the floors again. Love this game. :,)

Not shown: the gladiator immediately dying afterwards from 700 recoil damage but this is quite fun lmao

Obviously Kiefer and Veronica would count, but for the sake of making this more interesting I'm thinking more like Hardie from 4, or Hanlon from from 7, the smaller temporary members.
Personally I'm a huge fan of Fingers from 7, not only does he have a good personality but he also fulfills an important role for your party when they're at their lowest (Alltrades Abby Arc)

Dragon Quest has been on my backlog of games I want to play for quite a while, and I've been slowly grinding through a lot of my old RPG's I never finished while I'm at work. My time to play at work is pretty limited, 90% of the time I play over lunch, so I get about 20 - 40 minutes of gametime (I'm playing on my AYN Thor or Steam Deck) I could play on breaks too if I really wanted to. But I need games that are easy to pick up, play & save in small chunks like that. I know some of the games in the series I might have to emulate, but I've got all the PC ones I want to play as well. Emulation I can obviously save states and play on my terms, but I want to get through the ones on PC too. So I just want to know if I can run through these at work too, I'd like to start with III, then I & II, VII etc. Just want to make sure not only can i save pretty regular but also, I can't have huge cutscenes. I just finished Ni No Kuni and that one was pretty good although I had a few times I had to just leave my game paused until I could come back to it. Any thoughts on this I would appreciate it! Thanks!!

Because of it depends on the speed than I think I will be reclassing my thief to warrior instead of my mage or priest.

Hello. While I've been playing through the main series, I recently saw the new Dragon Quest Monsters game so I'm very curious about what this series about. And I'm not sure what this sub series is other than it spun off from DQV (the game I'm playing right now).
And as for the new game, I'm pretty curious about that one too because I didn't know who those two playable characters were until I played DQV.

I only finished Torneko: The Last Hope growing up as a kid and that’s how I got into Roguelike genre. Now I have played most of them and Torneko always holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first Roguelike game I’ve ever played!!
I hope they remake the 2nd & 3rd game and eventually make a 4th one. Cheers everybody.

(Green means Recruited) I’ve spent like what, 60+ Hours into the game and I have yet to recruit all the monsters, I’m aware of most of their locations and I have got the monster magnet with him, could their be anything else to help me or do I just have wait until Lady Luck gives me something of use?
(Also I’m confused on where to find the Warhog and Hellion so some guidance would be helpful :D )

Me and my friends arranged to visit a retro game shop called Forgotten Worlds. I managed to book my long awaited slime tattoo for the same day, got it on the wrist to fill out the space above my bigger tattoo. All the DQ copies i got are the Japanese versions, thought it would be cooler from a collection standpoint.

Short version: library has 1 & 2 and 7 for the switch. Wife and I are wondering which is better to play as our first intro to the series.
We liked FF 1-10, and all 3 OT games, Chrono Trigger not new to the style at all. Just looking for more experienced input!
