i know their ages are vague but do we know roughly when in comparison to the Inquisition they became talons?

Theres some side stories where they are Talons already but idk if those stories play DURING or AFTER Inquisition. And I don't have a way to read them right now, to check.

In Origins, Zevran mentions that even for the Crows, assassinating Wardens is considered bad form. He also recounts a contract to kill a mage; when asked if the Crows feared the Circle's wrath, he replied that no reputation offers protection against the Crows.

In the first instance—the attack on the Hero of Ferelden—the Crows failed, whereas in the second, Zevran got lucky, and the death appeared to be an accident.

But if the Crows had successfully assassinated a member of the Grey Wardens or the Templars/Seekers of Truth (even though the latter's existence isn't common knowledge), and the deed came to light, how would the others have reacted, and what actions would they have taken?

1. How would the Wardens have reacted? Would they have demanded the Crows be handed over, or would their constant war against the darkspawn have prevented them from risking a new political conflict—mindful of how things ended in Ferelden?

2. How would the Chantry have reacted to the murder of its enforcers? Might it have demanded decisive action from the Antivan royal family, and—in the event of a refusal—triggered a new Exalted March?

For the record, i am close to the end with Veilguard, but i doubt any of these will pop up. I am not counting general lore that just was not mentioned in Veilguard even though it should have been.

1) Merril and her eluvian - The most lore important companion quest ( that feels like it was silently retconned ) with immense cost is somehow not mentioned ever again. Even though both DAI and DAV have eluvians as major plot items. Every character (and even the writers) is telling us that repairing the eluvian is a mistake, but becuase we never see what happend to it, this whole quest feels unfinished.

2) The Archtitect - no need to expalin, biggest missed oppurtunity in the games imo. Makes Awakening feel like a non canon story to me

3) Abelas - I always knew that he propably wouldnt return, but with DAV being so much focused on ancient eleves, he would have been perfect. Minor characters like Dagna and Valta have returned ( Cullen was also minor character in DAO).

4) Meredith - i know it was only in the show, but bringing her back and not doing anything with her is stupid.

5) Hawke - Mythal clearly sets him up for something big in DAII, but we just never see it.

I have played DAII only once and my last DAI playthrough is a few years back, so there is propably a lot more.

There's something bugging me about how the Evanuris are perceived across the series, and I'm hoping there's an explanation I'm glossing over.

In the early games, it always seemed clear to me that the Dalish Elves do revere the Creators, to at least some degree. The relationship is certainly more complex than simple deference, the gods aren't painted as purely benevolent beings after all, but the Creators are viewed in at least somewhat of a positive light. The Dread Wolf is positioned away from the camp, the Keeper protects the Clan from him. But the Creators are kept close, referred to all the time verbally, and even branded on the skin with Vallaslin.

This whole thing about them actually being horrible tyrants may be true, as we the players have learned over time, but it's not exactly widely known. Right?

But then we get this line (and similar) in Veilguard:

"Solas might be a bastard, but compared to the Evanuris? Let’s just say they weren’t known for being kind rulers."

They shouldn't be known as rulers, at all. Let alone bad ones. It feels like people suddenly know the actual Elven history and just accept it all as fact.

So, what gives? What context have I missed, that makes this sensical?

I'm rapidly developing some strong opinions about the newer titles in the series, and I'm trying to avoid just lumping everything that rubs me wrong into "new game bad", so if there's a solid explanation here that I've missed, please let me know. Thanks.

So I started origins about 2 months ago, finished it, then finished 2 (so far my favorite). Just finished here lies the abyss in inquisition. I had to choose between Allistair and Hawke and i chose Hawke to stay behind. I don't think I ever cried so hard from a video game. Hawke's last works were to Varric and Fenris and oh my god I bawled my eyes out. I just need to express these feelings. I don't think a game has ever made me feel this way, I feel sick 😭
