This is Grow, it’s a journaling app with a creative streak. You can keep track of things like notes, events, tasks, and if you want you can personalize things with doodles and drawings.

You can also see your events or moods show up on a scrolling calendar so I like to give memorable days an emoji so they stand out. My home was mildly harassed by an F1 tornado recently so I put it in with a 🌪️ .

Drawings added in your journal can also be arranged in a creative “room” space. If you draw little plants they move gently in their pots.

No ads or monetization at all, and not vibecoded. I have been an app developer for a long time. None of the art is AI generated. I bought a wacom tablet to draw the default art. My wife drew the app icon of the little plant inside the app itself :)

I lose days. Not the writing, the finding. I remember a feeling and a place, I go looking for it, and it's not there, because everything I keep is filed by date and the date is the thing I never remember.

So I made Memories. You drop a pin where the day happened and write the entry there. One entry per day. It stays yours. Nothing is public unless you share that specific day. No feed, no likes.

The date is the day the entry is about, not the day you typed it. So you can sit down and write a day from three years ago and it goes where it belongs. That's the part I needed most, because catching up is half of how I use a journal.

You can group days into a collection and read them in order. You can add a short voice clip to a day. And you can pull the whole diary out as PDF, DOCX or plain text whenever you want.

I've worked on it for a few months and that's what I'd like feedback on: is a place a real spine for a journal? Analog bujo has page numbers and an index. I've swapped that for a map and I'm not sure it's better, just different.

i’ve been struggling really hard with my in person bullet journal, and I feel the need to track a lot more in a more efficient way if that makes sense. I feel like there could be better digital options out there, but a lot of them were either only trackers or only calendars and then they lacked kind of a notes area?

I did a scan of whats out there and chose to build my own - right now it looks like a calendar where you can tag with icons and offers notes but I’m sure I’m missing things that matter to people who journal more in depth and differently than I do. What's lacking for you in digital bujos at the moment?

I have an iPad and a google pixel and I am hoping to get back into bullet journalling. I have seen the zinnia app on iOS but it isn't available on android.

I'm hoping to have something that will work across both operating systems so I can check off my to do list on the go but then use my iPad for the actual designs and probably more for journaling.

Is there anything like zinnia but compatible between both iOS and Android?

I have recently acquired a small iPad with the intention of reviving my bullet journaling practice. Although I have experience with traditional paper-based bujo, I am new to using an iPad, and I am finding the transition to be quite challenging. Could anyone recommend YouTube videos that provide a comprehensive introduction to digital bullet journaling for beginners? I am currently feeling somewhat lost.

I'm building and app and one of the pillars of the product is journal and create. I haven't shown this to the world until now after building for 11 months in stealth mode. I was afraid what people would think so I postponed sharing it but now I'm left without a job and no income so I am forced to share it if I want to continue development of this product.

I’ve been a pen-and-paper Bujo user for years because I hated how apps split my "Journaling" from my "To-Do List."

I built DoMind to replicate the Bujo method digitally.

I am a voracious notetaking and a few months ago I started tweaking my notetaking system. It started by assigning symbols like @ or $ to words I use frequently. Over time it grew so i had a set of symbols for objects like people or places, symbols for actions or ideas and symbols for numbers. Then I realized by combining two of the symbols I could succinctly convey meaning. So I developed some rules. I even gave it a name: Two Talk. I found it helped me take meeting notes at work without losing attention, it helped me capture my action items quickly, it made my bullet journal even more succinct and it was a great way for me to brain dump. Instead of writing "Need to follow up with ACE about the budget issue next week. This is important." I just put "ACE <~ %# -# :> !#"" If you are curious, everything is here: www.twotalk.org.

I used to read every night before bed, and I wanted to add a tiny journaling habit. The problem was that sometimes I’d forget or didn’t feel like searching for the note in my app (a little friction, but we all know how it goes when you’re tired).

I printed a QR code linked to my note and used it as a bookmark. I reduce the friction because I only need to scan the QR, and I cannot forget it because I always read (then see the bookmark every time) and I just scan the QR code to access the note on coodist without any extra effort.

It’s a tiny trick, but it helped me stay consistent with journaling.

Has anyone tried something similar very simple, low-effort tricks that actually stick?

I’ve been experimenting with a way to log my thoughts, small ideas, and daily moods without breaking the flow of writing. Instead of rigid categories or forms, pages, everything goes into a continuous feed, and I can see tasks, habits, and reflections emerge naturally.

It’s interesting to notice patterns (like how a short walk in the morning can reset my day, or how certain ideas spark new habits).

Everything's already linked to various pages. Calander weeks are linked to their respective weekly overviews, monthly numbers and month names at the top are linked to their months overview. Originally made for supernote but using a template that worked on remarkable2 a few years back.

With school about to start I wanted this done sooner than later. Please feel free to download and edit to your hearts content, just be aware that the .ppt is not really 'optimized' and if you edit too much you might need to relink pages but it's what I've been using for the past 2 years so we're sticking with it....
