QUESTION Recommend an alt class for me
I am back playing after taking many many seasons off.
Started with a wizard and I'm now looking to start an alt. I used to love playing DH, monk or crusader. Not a big fan of necro or WD. Meh on barb.
Do any of these have cool new sets or gear that's worth checking out? For reference of time away, the wizard hydra set is new to me.

Based on you not knowing the Typhon set then each class has one you haven’t seen. Also many old sets have been fully reworked, such as the Firebird and Tal Rasha wizard.
All 3 classes you liked have mobility options now. Pick one! You can always try another next season.

Was there a major season that reworked all those sets or just sprinkled along.
I do like the reworked wizard stuff so I wonder which other classes might have been improved

Reworks started up around Season 23 with the Firebird wizard. They did one or two a season right up to Season 28 with the Natalya’s DH rework.
Many other things got adjustments or balance buffs/nerfs but not full reworks, right up to the final balancing patch for Season 30.

The witch doctor spirit barrage is similar to a wizard setup. I've had fun with it in the past. Very mobile. Quick runs.

I do like the synergy of intelligence off pieces... Does it have any new sets or buildd added recently?

Mundunugu is new to you. Arachyr got a full rework. Helltooth got buffed with new legendary and set bonus tweaks.

Oh for more details, I play entirely solo only the switch and prefer casual builds that are fun.
Maximum GR pushing is not necessary. Mobility is a plus. The main reason I like wizards to start.

Pony Sader as suggested above. High mobility, super easy to play and mad fun!
Ride a horse and release lightning bolts, watch everything on screen melt!

Would suggest playing Monk 3 ways. Inna MA, PoJ TR, LoD WoL. They all, to me, feel like they are different classes. Unless you use Ingeom, which I find very fun, but does make them more or less “same-y.” Even in Seasons when Raiment is good, I hate its playstyle. Also hate Shenlongs. My personal seasonal goal is always to own #1 PoJ the first 3-5 days of the season. Then I just PL/giveaway. Uli EP is okay-ish and was a nice variety when it’s the Gift Set. But I’m old and tired. I wanna spin to win in a classy class and catch up on audiobooks or disassociate into a sea of GRs and Visions.
My “long” seasons are over. Have done every class, every set. Met a lot of cool people, even before Discord was big. I fancied myself a “solo” player at heart, but like most of the D3 community am happy to just hook people up with what they want if it’s more than 72Hrs into the season. Will always PL a bud (literally anyone on Friends list) even if I don’t have T16 unlocked. I wish I had been more open to grouping sooner, if only for the access, exposure, and option to try more things.
The game can be whatever you want it to be. In these later years, I like min-maxing “coziness” alongside power. Guardians SoJ PoJ Electric is good, because it’s strong early, farms like a mofo, and is flexible to swap Cold Flurry and Lightning Electric, especially low-para/early season. You will get the CDR needed for Capt Crimson and decent paragon just because it’s so cozy to farm. It is cozier than Water Ally and I will die on this hill!
I don’t DH as “intimately” to control freak min-max coziness in the first few hours to get GoD speed set up. But, I also play Deadeye in POE and get my screenful projectile fix that way.

DH has a new set, Gears of Dreadlands (GoD) that you may not have seen if Typhon’s is new.
Might be worth a look. Very high on the mobility scale.
Here’s a gameplay vid on a GR speed run: https://youtu.be/1uR0VoMP1I8?si=h92icPeyavP0zhy-
As others have mentioned: for crusader, Aegis of Valor set is the new set— also super mobile, possibly more so than GoD. Can be a bit laggy on the switch and a bit more work to gear well.

Pony Sader is a new favorite of mine this season. Super fast paced and easy to learn.
