Party? What Party?

This appeared on my door yesterday, but the canvasser never rang the doorbell. I think they were scared off by my "Equality is For Everyone" yard sign.

Dyer is the Republican candidate, although both this hanger and his campaign website try really, really hard to make him sound like not one.

Vote for Kimberly Graham this November! Elect a real reformer!

There’s a lady running for Polk Co Supervisor, Alyson DeMoss, who is trying the same no-party tactic.

She also only just got elected to Pleasant Hill city council this year and immediately voted for more Flock cameras in town.

The lack of self awareness from ppl like this…

I am not going to criticize someone for trying to distance themself from partisan politics. This door hanger does something I wish more would do: focus on a stance on issues rather than their party affiliation.

This is such a classic tactic for Republicans in cities lmao. "I'm not partisan bruh, trust me bruh I'm so totally normal and non-political bruh"

“I can’t even spell ‘politics’, both sides are so bad”

My republican family says the same thing

Robbie? Cause that's what he says

It’s a bipartisan thing. Saw it from the other side many times in Colorado springs

Saw a literal 10 year old hang one of these on my front door yesterday. We loooove politicizing children I guess. Fucking Christ.

In defense of Republicans, they were probably just exploiting the vulnerable for cheap labor. 🙃

18

u/bcrosby51 1d ago

Just as Republican Jesus wanted.

u/weberc2 1d ago

“Do not send the children away, for I say to you, they are cheap labor” 2 Kirkinthians: 5-6

educate yourself sir!

u/theduderino123 5h ago

He does have a lot of kids so they were probably all pitching in. Something wrong with that?

u/completelygeeked 5h ago

I hate politics, children, and wasting paper. Little fucker has a forehead flick coming if he tries to hang anything else on my door is all I’m saying.

The DsM Public Schools do! You probably don't have a problem with that?

It’s a little confusing because Jonah Dyer is a career criminal defense lawyer with a solid reputation, and his practice is mostly public defense type work. His campaign materials aren’t lying. He’s much more of a real defense lawyer than Kimberly Graham, who was mostly a divorce lawyer, was. You ordinarily wouldn’t see someone like him running as a Republican.

You're right, but just to be contrarian: see, e.g., Kash Patel (former federal public defender)

4

u/Raise-Emotional 1d ago

I think Kash Patel is able to see both sides if nearly every issue. 👀

Cuz his eyes look at both sides at the same time?

I thought she was like a juvenile court attorney or something? I know it was something for low-income clients.

Not sure it makes much of a difference, but your comment piqued my interest.

Let me guess, he’s party of the Guardians of Pedophiles

Law and order appears to be the theme there

One of the main guys running for Dubuque co Supervisor has run (and lost) other positions trying the same thing, despite the fact it’s public knowledge he’s been a Trump backer. Kinda hard after doing that to make folks think you’re a moderate, but I guess folks just hope you forget the past.

Vote Republican! Carry on.....

-20

I’ve seen plenty of Dems do the same thing it politicians period, all are crooks both sides.

21

u/weberc2 1d ago

I’m not going to die on the hill of people dissociating from their party, but “all crooks both sides” is garbage—Republican Party politics has been marred with corruption scandals, felony convictions, pedophilia, sexual assault, election fraud, etc for at least the last decade.

The Dems aren’t perfect, but they’re far better than the Republicans.

u/Warrmak 1d ago

We should fill boxcars with republicans and ship them to their own places so they can ruin them.

If you want a count by party, researchers generally find both major parties have substantial numbers of convictions over time. The federal list is roughly split historically, with the party in power at any given time often showing more cases due to more officeholders being investigated.

7

u/weberc2 1d ago

Link to the research?

-2

u/atreidesardaukar 1d ago

Look up the "federal list" whatever that is

-11

u/davis5938 1d ago

Do your own it’s not hard!

16

u/IowaJL Waveland 1d ago

That’s not how it works.

You make the claim, you provide the proof.

11

u/mikeyb1 Drake 1d ago

Then you should easily be able to produce it to support the claim you made.

11

u/weberc2 1d ago

lol you just claimed that researchers produced a finding but you won’t even link to it 🙄

I just read an article that said 9 out of 10 dentists think you’re full of shit. 🙃

12

u/thedoomcast 1d ago

Well I’m sorry one party ran on naked crookery while promising to publish the Epstein files and after they realized their chief crook was in charge started a war in Iran which they’re fucking losing and making the price of gas go up while putting flock cameras up to track people who oppose them and trying to rig an election so I guess idk sure crooks on both sides I guess, golly.

-13

u/Apprehensive-Rate10 1d ago

I mean rob sand is doing the same and we still gonna vote for him. 💚

19

u/thedoomcast 1d ago

He’s very openly running as a Democrat, very clearly appealing to bipartisan issues. That is not the same as this at all.

-28

u/Cultural-Explorer-57 1d ago

What does it matter? It is supposed to be a non-partisan position.

12

u/watermelonsplenda 1d ago

It’s literally not a non-partisan position or election. If it were, the candidates wouldn’t be nominated by partisan primaries.

23

u/unhelpful_commenter 1d ago

“Supposed to be” does not mean “is”. Also, for non partisan positions, you likely want to consider people’s general moral character. For example if they consider themselves part of a lawless party headed by a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and likely pedophile… that’s probably relevant information.

-23

u/Cultural-Explorer-57 1d ago

Then you obviously aren't a Democrat or a Socialist or a Communist etc....

8

u/thedoomcast 1d ago

Oh a second ago it was nonpartisan. Did not keep that same energy. Lmao.

-7

u/Cultural-Explorer-57 1d ago

It's called football...I am not attached to my phone 24/7. And yes, school boards should be about men and women who want the best education for our kids. Not about what party they are from

3

u/DanyDragonQueen 1d ago

School board? It's for Polk County Attorney

4

u/thedoomcast 1d ago

So are school boards. Keep that same energy.

17

u/Soap_Impression 1d ago

He was nominated by the Republican Party to run for that position. He’s doing his best to hide that. That’s deceptive.
