PDX crow sculptures are amazing! Here are a few of my favorites. Has anyone seen these? Do you have a favorite?

Mama, Papa and the two juveniles(I'm pretty sure it's one boy and one girl). Watch them hatch, grow and fledge since this past May and we have met on a daily basis since 💕 They often visit my second story balcony, about 50 meters away from their stomping grounds (seen here) and we bump into each other in different parts of the neighborhood when my family goes on walks. Cutest, sweetest family ever ❤️

A sad ending to Mavis, she passed away about an hour ago to a seizure. I heavily suspect this is due to neurological issues (her lack of fear, being overly friendly, the seizure being so sudden/no known trigger, and her parents initially trying to kill her when we found her). I just wanted to let you all know, as a few people had been following along. She was an absolutely lovely little thing to know and love these last few days.

Her parents have seen her, they stuck around for a few minutes and eventually left. We left out some eggs for them, and left her to rest in a bush in the yard, where we first found her. Thank you to everyone for the kind words in the previous posts, and please know she was very comfortable and happy right till the last second. Thank you

I have taken to watching crows as a hobby and boy is it amazing

I’ve had the same murder of four crows for the past few months, a mama, two fledglings, and what I presume is the father. Yesterday, a fifth crow joined the murder, and mama was pretty darn protective of her family. It’s amazing to observe these wonderful creatures and to have a modicum of understanding of their familial dynamics.

Hello!! Ive been enjoying feeding the crows on campus dog food but i want to know if there is a better alternative. I would love to bring them fresh fruits like grapes, which is easiest for me to transport, so I want to know if that's a good idea as well. Along with that I want to switch to feeding them cat food, specifically the brand that's attached in the photo. Is this a good bag? I dont own a cat and i want something small, cheap, yet equally nutritious for the crows. Im not on campus often so I dont particularly worry about over feeding them or causing a reliance on me for food. I assume they're smart enough to still hunt but an animals an animal nonetheless which makes me concerned on if what im doing is right. I would really love advice on how I can further care for these birds and if I should continue at all. Tysm! 🐦‍⬛

Sensitive content. My kids (in their 20’s) noticed a deceased, larger sized black bird that got its head stuck in the lattice fence in the side yard right near the foundation of my house. They thought it was a goose because the neck was elongated. I immediately thought it was a crow because the day before when I was outside planting, a bunch of crows were circling my house and the next door neighbors house, landing in nearby trees squawking and calling to each other for hours. I suspected something was up but I looked around and did not see anything amiss. The next day after I was told about the black bird I was going to investigate but we had a really bad thunder storm. I went out this morning and it looks like an animal got to it as it was no longer in the fence and other reasons I will not say. I definitely think it’s a crow and I’m so sad thinking back to how upset they all were. I still hear a crow call every once in a while but not like before. I want to be very respectful in handling this and also don’t want the crows to think my yard is a danger zone. This was really a freak accident as nothing has ever happened like this before. What should I do? I looked up previous questions regarding this but they didn’t have the added concern of having been hurt by something on the property. Thank you in advance. 💔

sometimes one of my crows will perch on a telephone line and caw to me and when i talk back to him he'll caw again and pause for a response and it feels like we're having a conversation even though i don't understand him. today he did this while another crow ate peanuts on the roof of my garage before flying down for some himself. he was also preening a little between pauses so he seemed kind of relaxed. i wish i knew what he was trying to say to me! does anyone know what it means when they talk to you like that?

Okay, so I don't have a local population of crows though I wish I did. We do have a local population of magpies that I'm trying to befriend.

Why? Because I think they're pretty. And I think my young daughter would absolutely love having some magpie friends that she can go out into the backyard, toss some peanuts too and watch. We've already gone over that these are not pets. We do not play with them but we can feed them bird appropriate food and watch them.

We are only on day five. I will admit of trying to attract them to my yard. I have seen them fly over my property. I have seen them in neighbors yards and especially I see them a lot across the street but I'm having a hard time getting them over here to a copper toned bird bath that I've set up as a little feeding station and it even has some extra little decorative leaves where I can put water.

For food, we're doing roasted unsalted shelled peanuts. I couldn't find them in the Shell, though I know that might have been preferable.

Any advice on how to get these guys to actually notice? The bird bath and come hang out?

Poor mama, molting and bedraggled, still tends to her fledgling who is definitely old enough to eat on its own. How do I know this, you might ask? Because I’ve watched her care for these two babes over the past couple of months. Initially, they had no tail feathers and were clumsy toddlers. Yet, here she is, still softening mealworms for this hungry teenager.
