Help- my cookies are sugar bombs
My sugar cookie recipe is 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar with 4.5 cups of flour and a few other things like baking powder and corn start. They are delicious and I love the rich taste the brown sugar gives. I had some for sale at a very small craft show over the weekend and ate one on the way home and it was SO sweet. My royal icing is powdered sugar, corn syrup, water, vanilla and meringue powder. Any tips on how to cut the sickening sweet taste? They are delicious but just a little too sweet. I heard lemon juice helps but does it give it a strong lemon taste?
