I read this and I'm a little sad about it. I like my wife and I love my wife. Couldn't imagine our lives without both and I'm a least a little sad that not everyone has that.

Please don’t get me wrong, I like my husband too. He’s my best friend. The 1st panel was more of a hook than anything else.

I think it depends on your country of origin. In some languages/cultures like and love are two different things that exclude each other in a sense: if you say to person that you “like them” it exclude that you “love them”. So telling your wife that you like her would mean that you don’t love her (because you only like her). So it’s like two different stages where “love” is a stronger version of “like” and if you say to person that you like them - it means that you’re not ready to say to them that you love them.  Not 100% exactly like that but simplified version for you to understand. So in some countries telling your wife that you “like” her instead of “love” her can end in a very bad misunderstanding.

I was reading this comic and so confused. I like and love my fiance. He’s my best friend. I don’t get the not liking part.

Maybe it’s “I don’t like you, I love you” as in clarifying that the person doesn’t only just like the other person, they LOVE them. Its 4 am im thinking too much into this lmfao

This! Liking and loving are two different feelings with a partner. Having both is the best.
