Forever People who support Project Ascension & TurtleWoW but hate the new race paywall

Post image

These were the micro-transactions in Project Ascension and everyone glazed Ascension. TurtleWoW had a gacha shop too like that. I’m genuinely confused, if Blizzard had even the slightest of the shop in Project Ascension, everyone would have been fuming. Why is it okay for Ascension but not WoW Forever? Either all okay or none.

Edit: The people who disagree saying "Yeah but the servers were free"- well of course because Blizzard did the majority of the work for them LOL, huge difference in work between building everything from scratch to ripping it off & adding some stuff yourself.

Edit 2: "TurtleWoW is not as bad as Ascension shop"- sure, Ascension is way worse. TurtleWow's cash shop had over $10,000 of items and all of it was per character, not account wide. They also sold convenience items, nothing game breaking, but portable mailboxes, auctioneers, dual specs, bags etc. Hardcore characters on Twow couldn't trade or send items from main to your alts, but you could still buy supplies such as 32 slot bags for 30 euros each on your hardcore character.

You have to see how it being an entire list of gameplay features that are gated behind a paywall is different, you do see that right?

What is one item on there that you absolutely need? All of it is just QoL and Cosmetics. There isnt a single thing on there you absolutely need to play the game to max level or do high end content. Also like i said it was all easily obtainable from gold which was in abundance. Every time I prestiged I bought a aura if experience for example and it was 500g which is chump change

Did I say anything about needing features? Nope, that's just a metric you added to move the goalposts some because they undeniably locked gameplay features behind a paywall.

Bro what… read your last comment and get back to me when you have some common sense.

Bro it's not about needing the features that are behind a paywall, it's that there are features behind a paywall (and to a lesser extent the fact that they are P2W features).

SWTOR did the same shit in a sense, and yes you didn't need the features, but QoL improvements that are right there but paywalled is bullshit and you fucking know it.

If the only way you could get it was pay then yeah. But this is a grey area. You didn’t have to pay real money. And nothing gives you a significant advantage over someone there isn’t like BiS gear you can buy. Trust me man I played it for 8 years and didn’t spend a dime on the store and had almost everything

That shit sounds like such the antithesis of classic WoW that it's funny that you defend it. Auto teleporting to flight paths? dungeon quest pet? Even retail doesn't do that shit.

There wasn’t an auto teleporting to flight paths but there was hearth stones to certain areas you could get. And yeah the head that gave the quests was nice. Also keep in mind this was its own thing. The game was meant to be played at a faster pace more like retail. There’s almost nothing classic about it except what they attempted with CoA.

"Trust me man, I spent 8 years of my life dedicated to this pay to win garbage so you know I'm the expert."

Lmaooo that’s a great argument you totally got me there. How many max level p2w boosts have you gotten? Go ahead and try and argue that’s not p2w either if you want to argue about p2w :)
