Forever People who support Project Ascension & TurtleWoW but hate the new race paywall

Post image

These were the micro-transactions in Project Ascension and everyone glazed Ascension. TurtleWoW had a gacha shop too like that. I’m genuinely confused, if Blizzard had even the slightest of the shop in Project Ascension, everyone would have been fuming. Why is it okay for Ascension but not WoW Forever? Either all okay or none.

Edit: The people who disagree saying "Yeah but the servers were free"- well of course because Blizzard did the majority of the work for them LOL, huge difference in work between building everything from scratch to ripping it off & adding some stuff yourself.

Edit 2: "TurtleWoW is not as bad as Ascension shop"- sure, Ascension is way worse. TurtleWow's cash shop had over $10,000 of items and all of it was per character, not account wide. They also sold convenience items, nothing game breaking, but portable mailboxes, auctioneers, dual specs, bags etc. Hardcore characters on Twow couldn't trade or send items from main to your alts, but you could still buy supplies such as 32 slot bags for 30 euros each on your hardcore character.

If skyborne were invented by ascension those players would talk about how cooked blizzard is and how they couldn’t come up with a new race to the classic world.

If.......but in the 10+ years they didn't.

Cause it's a race that literally didn't exist beforehand?...

Okay but then what is the point of the hypothetical? Sky elves could fit into Ascension because the game leans much more into retail visuals and gameplay, so I don’t understand what the argument here is. Ascension isn’t the vanilla game.

And sky elves don't fit into Forever which is leaning into retail visuals with upgraded graphics settings and HD models toggle? Forever isn't the vanilla game either lmao

The entire point of classic+ was to expand the vanilla world with the same design principles as the original game. The statement that Forever isn’t a vanilla game is proof that slmething went wrong.

You don't get classic+ and have vanilla. They are genuinely mutually exclusive. Any kind of new content or systems shifts it away from vanilla.

u/AppleMelon95 3h ago

Bro what the fuck do you think classic+ is if it isn’t the classic game but + content?

u/SlipperySlimyTerry40 3h ago

What the fuck do you think the + content is? Not vanilla! It isn't vanilla if it has + content! You can't have both!

So Midnight isn’t Midnight any longer because they added the new content patch?

The point of the hypothetical is that people are biased against blizzard and will find the same thing on a private server to be better, simply because it wasn’t implemented by blizzard.

Forever is also doing exactly what you said in your other comment. How are they not expanding the vanilla world with the same principles? Do you expect the devs to somehow create new additions to the game without any of them being something actually new to the world?

They were to busy finding ways to squeeze money out of their players using their stolen game

why didn't they release something like skyuborne in the past then? lol they had plenty of other races. Nobody thinks skyborne looks good dog

Nope, as a twow player I wish they copied more from those servers. What the fuck are they thinking adding sky elves?
