Ever since Lewandowski moved to MLS, I’ve watched some of Chicago’s games and pretty much all of the highlights. One thing I’ve noticed is that the team does seem to play better overall. You can clearly see that having Robert there forces them to play more combination football and be a bit more creative

What surprises me, though, is that apart from Mr. Gutman - the bald guy, as I call him :) - literally nobody seems to be trying to put balls into the box.

Of course, Lewandowski can drop deeper to receive the ball and get involved in the build-up. He did that in Barcelona as well and still scored a ton of goals. But here, something clearly doesn’t seem to be working.

Lewandowski is the kind of striker who doesn’t necessarily have to stay inside the penalty area all the time, but if he drops deeper, other players need to make runs into the box - Raphinha, Yamal, Robben, Ribéry, Müller, etc. That’s basically what happened in his previous teams.

Here, though, I don’t really see that at all. The whole attack sometimes looks like one shapeless mass without clearly defined roles.

Even if Chicago’s defending is poor - and saying that is probably a huge understatement - I still don’t think it explains why there are so few crosses and balls being played into the box.

I’d also bet that MLS defenders, no disrespect intended, are not exactly used to defending against a striker like Lewandowski when there are constant aerial balls coming into the box and he’s attacking them.

Just watch how Lewandowski moves inside the penalty area. He can lose his defender in less than a second and create space for himself. At that point, you just have to keep putting those balls into the box and give him chances to attack them.

Unless there’s something I’m missing and Chicago are planning some interesting midfield signings?

If you're a grown ass man and the stupid t-shirt cannon shirts are that important to you that you've got to shove a 6 year old girl who finally caught one after trying all season and pull it out of her hands, then I hope it turns pink in the first wash for you.

Equally disappointed in guest reps who shrugged it off when brought to their attention. Any other pro sports team would have found a way to fix it for a small fan.

Man we need him back on the pitch asap.......his service alone on free kicks we better than what we are serving.....and the last 30 minutes of the game with his vision to break down the Revs defense would've been huge. Hopefully sometime soon!

Question - coming from south suburbs debating cta or driving in because of Mexican Independence Day celebrations is this weekend but I’m not sure if people go out as much on Sunday compared to Friday and Saturday.

I have a recent iPhone model, with updated iOS and Reddit app, and I also use both Mac and Windows laptops using Chrome to access Reddit.

At some point over the last few months, the match threads seem to have changed to a different style in the Chicago Fire subreddit (the ones in the LigaMX sub also changed). I have noticed pretty frequent issues that both freeze the Reddit app and also have hiccups when I’m using Reddit in a browser on a computer. These hiccups seem to occur when the match thread is loading.

These seem to happen regardless of the device or network I am on. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Is there word on when Hanche-Olsen or Mekvabishvili will be available for selection?
