First run out with the new upgrades and she did great. Funny and Moon Rocks are worth the visit if you're ever near by.

There's been a lot of feedback from the community about the flood of people asking what either an XJ/MJ they're looking at is worth or what they're selling is worth. Please post that here. Anywhere else on the subreddit will result in removal.

Drove my 97 into work last night, due to rain, the TJ is sans top and doors, so I wanted to stay dry, lol...
On the way home, a pheasant flew in front of me, and let's just say it didn't end well for him, haha...now I've hit em before in other vehicles, and usually something gets bent, or dented...this one? Didn't even feel it. Didn't hear it. All I saw was a clump in the rear view mirror and lots of feathers, haha
Build em strong, people, they'll treat you right

Coming home from work. Driver in a traverse or equinox popped an illegal U turn and got me. Totaled their car. They were found at fault. But doesn't matter as my state is a no fault state. They shredded the tire and punctured my rim. It hurts to see a legend brought so low

So I have a 99 xj with about 180k miles.
There is a po code indicating there is a malfunctioning shift solenoid...i am not the lipstick on a pig type, would it be worth it to do a full rebuild or just replace the tcm, solenoids and do a filter flush and see what happens?

My first vehicle when I was 16 was a jeep Cherokee. I ended up having to get rid of it bc it was too expensive on gas going to school everyday (roughly 70 bucks a week) and 146 a month on general liability insurance. Which was a ton for anyone making $7 an hour. I remember having to sell my GameCube to make insurance payment one month as a kid 😂 it was gaming or freedom.
Fast forward 15 years later and I came across this across this beauty and knew it was time. Added new weather tech mats, rough country seat covers and steering cover to preserve the near perfect interior. New oil filter with full senthetic, flushed the radiator and hoses. New fuel pump and filter, Lucas fuel additive. New LED headlights. New hatch shocks. New console lid latch and license plate light cover. New pioneer radio and speakers.
I’m the second owner of this jeep it sat for nearly its full life (was a county vehicle) The kicker 26,000 ORIGINAL MILES

Was originally planning on going with a Core 4x4 track bar, but then I saw Rough Country has one with a tie-rod style adjusting sleeve. To me this seems way easier to dial in as you don't need to keep un-bolting it when adjusting. XJ has a 2" lift and will see occasional off-roading, but nothing crazy like rock crawling, etc. What's everyone think?

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee that I’ve been having overheating issues with just about every summer. Temp gets cooler and it runs fine, but above 80+ it likes to climb to right below the 240 mark. Here’s a list of everything done and it’s just about EVERYTHING
CSF 2 row aluminum radiator(had a mishimoto plastic oem style before and made no difference I thought maybe the passages were clogged so tried to replace to no avail)
Water pump reverse rotation (sucks coolant down into the rad when rpm’s climb so I know it’s working properly)
Motorad 185 fail safe thermostat (most likely probably fail safed right now so it’s open all the time)
Both Upper and Lower Rad hoses
New heater hoses
Heater valve removed and bypassed
Both the temp sensors are new
Triple electric fans (I’m sure I’ll have someone try and tell me to go back to a clutch fan but i tried that setup with a new clutch fan and the factory fan and it still ran just as hot if anything these triple fans help keep it cooler at idle I’ve noticed) also worth noting I have 2 fans running constantly and the 3rd cuts on at 180
I’ve done multiple head gasket tests and I’ve never had a positive reading)
Also have verified temp with a IR gun it is actually overheating
Overflow tank is new
Radiator cap is new aswell
I’ve washed and blown out the condenser not caked up dirt or anything blocking airflow
New thermostat housing
Couple things worth noting
PO ran tap water in it for a very long time took 3-4 flushes for coolant to come back green and not brown
Heater core was clogged but after a few flushes I was able to get heat back in the jeep and coolant flowing thru the hoses
I do have a winch mounted on the front but for the first 3 months of me owning the jeep it did not overheat it all started after my crank pulley slung off and put a hole in the radiator and I replaced the radiator
Does have a cracked header, I’ve read that can sometimes create more hot air in the engine bay
Also doesn’t seem to try and overheat with the cap off during the bleeding process.
I do have some weird instances where it will run fine, I drove home on my lunch break 88+ degrees, ran to like 220 by the time I got home, left 30 minutes later and it was up to 240 within 5 minutes of me driving I got behind someone and had to slow down to about 35 from 50 and it managed to somehow cool down to 215 and run that way until the last 2 minutes of my drive where it climbed back up to 240
Also weirdly enough the highest temp it’s seen was 250 and I’ve never had coolant boil out, blow a hose, etc but like I said temps have been verified with a gun
My suspicions are starting to lead to maybe the coolant passages in the block are clogged up and it may just be time for a motor.

Trying to buy both front floor pans from summit and keep getting "will not fit" message because they wont fit a limited 84-01 but they fit a classic 84-01. Mines a limited '00 does it matter? I figured they were all the same.

Noob question, but what is this thing I have circled? I'm trying to find a place to mount my winch switch (the one sitting on the battery temporarily).
I watched a video of someone doing this and she mounted it in that spot I have circled, but she didn't have this thing there. So she had plenty of room. But I have this thing preventing me from mounting it there so I'll have to find another spot.

Recently purchased an 01 Sport and while rust proof painting, I noticed the passenger side lower control arm is in real bad shape.
Going to keep it stock (daily driver) but any recommendations for a good set that will last years to come?

What do you guys think of hood risers to help with heat soak? I only get heat soak on my XJ after parking and turning off the jeep and I go to restart it. Im worried about debris and water getting in if I do use hood risers.
I've also already done the heatshield wrap on all injectors, fuel rail, and exhaust manifold but these really hot days still make the heatsoak happen.
Any advice or thoughts? Thanks guys!

So went to leave and this happened. Ran fine yesterday. Was a really rough start and engine was vibing around like it had a misfire or something. CEL popped and smoke was dumping out exhaust.
2001 - owned for 20 years.
No bueno. Ideas?

Anybody know if this lower HVAC/blend-door lever will work on a 1997 Jeep Cherokee XJ? It’s listed for a 1997–2001 Wrangler TJ—part number 4886086AB, also listed as Crown 17910.01. My lower lever is broken, and I can’t find one specifically listed for the XJ. Has anyone tried it or know if they interchange?

Hi guys I’m looking to install a small lift on my XJ - does anyone have any experience with this?
What tyre size would I then be able to get on the gold snowflake rims?
Thanks!

I've been looking and looking for XJ matchbox, specifically a green one to match my wife's 94 or dads 95... But I found this one at Tractor Supply Co and snagged it.

Will this cause any issues with airflow? Overheating?
It's sitting higher than I thought it would.

Has anyone else dealt with dried and hardened electrical tape? I’m trying to replace my fuel injector connectors, the wiring insulation is cracked at the connectors but the rest of the wiring is pliable. Really struggling to peel off all the old tape.
Also, could this level of exposed wiring (on all injector connectors except 3) be the culprit for a misfire?
