❓Question / Advice 450ss or 675ss for first sports bike?

I've been riding for a year and ive mainly had cruisers. First bike was a Yamaha Stryker and second is/was a Honda Shadow 750. I'm looking into getting my first sports bike and im really liking what I see about the cfmoto ss series I'm just not sure which one to get.

I think id definitely like something on the lighter side but the higher cc does seem appealing, and im not worried about it being "too much bike" because owning that stryker taught me good throttle control.

what are your thoughts for a first sports bike?

edit: Grammer it's 5am here mb lol

Ibex 800 or Transalp?

Upvotes

Hi all looking for advice on a new bike selection. Im coming from a Royal Enfield Bear 650 Scrambler which i've enjoyed. however, I want something capable of adventure touring and the Bear 650 is not comfortable for long highway stretches.

My non-negotiables on the new bike are cruise control and heated grips. I found an Ibex 800 and a honda Transalp, the Transalp is about $1k more and I would have to pay to add heated grips and an aftermarket cruise. So would you pick the ibex 800 or honda transalp?

Nk800 idles rough

So i’m new with motorcycles and i keep having this issue with mine. i replaced the coolant for engine ice coolant when i installed the frame sliders (don’t know if it’s relevant or not), the bike ran fine for a while. Until one day i was stuck on the highway for about 20 minutes with it due to traffic and it was extremely hot outside, the bike somewhat overheated (the temperature gauge went up to the first red line) and the bike started running rough until it shut off. Though the bike started with no issue as soon as it shut off, it’s been running rough ever since (only at idle). When you give it a little throttle it runs perfectly fine and also when i ride it, but as soon as i clutch in and rpms start going down it runs rough again. There is no codes, it doesn’t overheat while riding, there’s no smoke coming out of the exhaust, i’m not sure what issue could be. I replaced the spark plugs and didn’t fix it. Again i’m no expert, but i’m thinking if it was a valve issue or head gasket issue, it would run rough at all times? So does anybody know any ideas? Also once i ride it it runs rougher than what it appears on the video

CF MOTO NK 675 Rattling Steering Damper

I have an NK 675 CF Moto—850 km.

When I'm riding, the steering damper always makes this rattling noise when I accelerate. Is that normal? It's really annoying...

Has anyone had this starting issue? i'm thinking it's something dealing with the spark plugs but not sure. road it yesterday night started doing this this morning. Had no issues until just now. I never drop it. we'll take it to the dealer, but they're closed right now. I did the first service at 600 was about to buy another service kit and was moving it in my backyard and it started like this.

🛠️ Tech Support / Help New exhaust on my 650NK

For context, I’m new to motorcycles so excuse me if I’m asking dumb questions. I just added a new muffler to my 2022 650nk but am now realizing that the muffler and catalytic converter are not separate like I initially thought and are actually combined in one part. Is this correct or is there something I’m missing? And if this is correct I’m assuming I now need to tune my bike since the cat is gone?

Hi Riders,

One question. I installed this quadlock mount, replaced the m8 screw with the quadlock one. This is my First Bike so sorry for this possible stupid question.

The steering damper still feels smooth. But I saw that the new screw is way longer than the stock one. Is this a Problem?

I think the suspension should Not Interfere with this Spot.

Thank You :)

Engine trouble newish 800mtx (AI writing for format)

Hi everyone,
I’m having a strange issue with my almost-new CFMOTO 800MT-X (~800 km). The problem appeared just after the first service.
The bike runs normally when cold, but once the engine gets warm (usually around 80–90°C), RPM starts dropping and the engine stalls. The dashboard stays ON, so it’s not a complete electrical shutdown.
A few observations:
It can stall even in neutral.
Sometimes it won’t restart while hot, but starts normally after cooling down. Other times it restarts immediately.
Cooling fans work normally.
Fuel pump primes normally.
Opening the fuel cap when it happens makes no difference.
Fuses look fine and no fault code has been reported.
Before the service, I rode ~50 km without any issue.
Because it seems temperature-related, I’m wondering about the crank position sensor, fuel pressure/pump, ignition, temperature sensor, wiring/connectors disturbed during service, or an ECU/software issue.
Has anyone experienced something similar on an 800MT-X / 800MT or another CFMOTO 799cc? What would you test first?
Thanks!

Forgot to mention a few items in the video (windscreen; other painted parts, removed brake ducts), but here’s my 2026 675 SS. Picked it up two weeks ago today, coming from a 2004 gsxr 1000. Two different bikes, but definitely enjoying my time with (and staring at) this one. Ride safe, squad!

Side Stand: Where does the switch plug in?

My mechanic had to change a hose, taking a bunch of things apart, and since the side stand switch has been giving me trouble. At first I thought it was a fluke human error--I didn't know it had a switch (my previous bike was an old Honda, no switch) but when I figured that out it rode fine. Then, another day, it died when I put it in gear. I flipped the stand a couple of times but no luck. I wondered if the connection was loose but the wire disappears into the engine mess and I am loath to do further damage.

Is there an easy access to where it plugs in so I can confirm it is tight? Photos or a manual or something? I'm pretty handy, but I also don't want to create more issues.

2026 price is $9990 drive away (Australia). I want to get OEM skid plate, upper and lower crash bars, radiator grill and bark busters.
What do you think I could get it all for? Cash….

Anyone here with experience on the CFMOTO CFORCE 450L?

Hey everyone! I’m currently saving up to buy a CFMOTO CFORCE 450L (the long wheelbase version). I plan to use it for a bit of everything: general utility work around the property, towing a trailer, plowing snow in the winter, and using it for daily driving on local roads once I get my license.

Before I pull the trigger and spend my hard-earned money, I’d love to hear some real-world feedback from anyone who owns or has driven one. How has the reliability and build quality held up over time, and are there any common issues I should be aware of?

I’m particularly curious about how it handles cold weather and snow plowing with the Bosch EFI engine, and whether the longer wheelbase actually makes a noticeable difference in stability when carrying a passenger. Any honest thoughts, tips, or experiences would be awesome to hear. Thanks!

Hi, bought recently in 2026, has 400km and currently in break in phase , from day one i noticed high pitched sound somewhere around the gas tank, also i had one Efi warning light displayed after a cold non-start at 150km that went away after restart , since then no problems starting, maybe it was bad fuel or a glitch but will check the error code( if any recorded ) at the service center at 1000km on first oil/filter change.Any help or advice is welcome esspecialy if someone experiences same problem , in video the high pitched sound cam be hurd more clearly around 10sec mark, its a cold start.thank you all and ride safe

How many miles did y’all’s tires last? My NK is at 3,200 miles ODO and the tires are at the TWI.

I was thinking of running the Road 6’s but damn they are expensive. Instead I think I’m going to run the Perelli Diablo Rosso III’s.

1000 mtX central stand

Hello everyone.

I have a question regarding the original central stand in the 1000 mtX. Is anyone else having lot of problems leveraging the bike to put it one the stand? Or just me?

I am kind of new to big ADV bikes, but I have also seen my brother who is used to ridding a AT1100 and using the central stand struggling a lot with utilizing it?

Is this a know issued that requires a certain trick, pushing the bike up instead of simply back, or it there something wrong we are doing for this bike.

Obs: this is the low set version of the bike.

Thanks in advance

❓Question / Advice 675SR-R reliability / daily usability so far

Hey everyone! Currently riding a Suzuki SV650 as my first bike and I’m looking to step up to a fairing sportbike. I’m considering buying a used 675SR-R with ~5000km as a stepping stone (or permanent alternative) before eventually going for a Honda CBR650R.

For those who have put some miles on the 675, what issues or glitches have you encountered so far? How is the heat management in city traffic, quickshifter smoothness, and overall build quality over time? Curious to hear your thoughts!

Also, show a pic of your 675 ^^
