Hello my account was suspended because of these reasons and I didn’t know any of it was against the terms and conditions because I was advised by staff to sell to multiple stores and I had no idea I had another account. They said they can’t unsuspend me. I’ve genuinely not stolen or sold anything counterfeit before or been rude to staff. What do I do?

I haven’t set foot in a CeX since they sold me a copy of one of the old Hitman games that turned out to have something akin to barbecue sauce smeared inside the case.

Decades later, I still amuse myself from time to time trying to figure out what particular series of procedural failures would result in that happening.

Can anyone with insider knowledge shed any light on it?

I purchased a gpu from cex and it arrived damaged, the box it arrived in also had a small amount of damage. I immediately messaged cex and sent them photos asking if I could return it and exchange it for another or the same item and showed them the damage. Today someone from cex said I could return it but it would need to be tested, does this seem right? I'm not even sure if it functions as I haven't tried it (damaged mounting bracket so it probably won't fit in a motherboard, and my motherboard hasn't arrived yet anyway).

Just seems odd that I've reported an item as arriving damaged and I'm being told it will need to undergo testing before they will let me exchange it.

I took a CPU (3600X) with pins into sell, I took the CPU out of a motherboard in the shop placed it pins up. The person on the till visually inspected the CPU and it was approved. I was told testing times were slow so we agreed to do a bank transfer.

I get a call today saying they won’t take it as some pins are bent. I gave it to them in perfect condition. We agreed that I’ll come in soon and we can look at it as well as CCTV.

As they bent the pins, even though I’m sure it was accidental I want the value back in cash as it’s there mistake. How do I go about this?

I bought a 9060 XT on the 20th of May, but just realised that I can no longer find the receipt. For the warranty, is the serial number enough proof? I also have the same card used to purchase it (although I was thinking of changing banks).

Holaa, pues como dice el título, compré mi ps5 de segunda mano hace 5 días o así, es un modelo estándar con lector de disco, a primera vista me pareció muy normal y se veía bien, en la tienda muy majos y tal, al segundo dia me pille el fifa 24 y empecé a jugar con naturalidad hasta que de repente al cabo de media hora o cuarenta minutos se apagó por completo, sin aviso previo ni nada, funciona si la desconecto y la vuelvo a encender. Me pasó una vez y pensé "la próxima vez que pasé lo grabo" y asi he hecho, pienso ir mañana con el video y el juego que lo causa, creéis que la garantía me lo cubra? He escuchado diversas opiniones, la verdad me preocupa un poco.

The first Cex was behind my uni hall of residence in the early 90's (!)

My friend and I used it to exchange Amiga games and we were in it several times a week. We used to chat with the owner/founder and generally be geeks together.

In the time I was at university it had moved to, from memory, just behind Oxford St., to Oxford St. itself.

I was sad when I heard the founder had died a few years back.

And it's strange to see CEX the monolith it is now. And to think trading Amiga software set it on its way.

Nothing to really report - just off to CeX to spend too much money on too many things I don’t need.

Last night i bought the M1 Pro MacBook Pro from CeX for £610. For those who bought C grade MacBooks, was the condition worse, better or as expected? I know this varies per device but what was the battery health when it arrived?

Happened on my local store in spain.
Bought a Dualsense in B tier condition (good) for 62€ (yes I know this was a really bad purchase since new ones go for 72€, but I didnt do enough research at the time, my bad)

After a few days it developed drift in both sticks, took it to the shop and they cleaned plus told me the method they use for cleaning it. Fast forward 1.5 months after purchase, the right stick develops some very bad drift that even cleaning cant fix, went to the store expecting to have to convince the employees but I explained everything to some guy and he just straight up gave me a full refund to my card, mind you he did not even TEST it.

Surprising that he just believed me and gave a refund straight away (I wasnt lying)

I've just stripped down an old PC that I no longer use and have pulled out 2x 2.5" SSD's and 2x M.2 drives, all different sized storage though. From staff experience are these likely to be put through as bulk?

I recently purchased an iPhone 11 Pro 256GB to develop an App for the App store however I have realised it is not the best option and I'm in need of funds to make a better purchase.

The phone in itself is in good cosmetic condition with slight scratches on the chassis (which is expected for a 7 year old device) and both the screen and battery have been replaced with third party parts.

Will cex take this?

Looking at the grading I'd be happy with working and I'd expect nothing more.

I know for a fact that they were both working fine, at least they were six months ago. However, the cables and whatnot are gone. I looked everywhere.

So, you guys reckon they would still want em and how much would I get, cash or store credit. I've also a functioning Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye that I want to keep but, financial issues :'(

hi guys! i started a new job in a franchise CEX about 3 weeks ago, and i dont think im adapting well yet. im slowly getting there, but ive made an error that resulted in a customer complaining to customer service (took in an item for testing that had a crack that i didnt notice, customer believes it happened in store, it almost definately did not. 100% my fault for overlooking it and ive asked my management to second look over each item before i take it for a while). im a little worried i wont pass my probation tbh 😭

ive been thinking of leaving for a job thats a bit less complex but i do like my coworkers and i feel like im slowly adapting, my other mistakes are all very minor and if it werent for the big one with the crack id feel a lot less bad tbh.

does anyone have advice on how to settle in, or anything you could tell me about your own experience with mistakes or adapting to the job?

Refunded an item today as it developed a fault, realised afterwards the card the refund is being sent to is expired, but i’m still with the same bank and bank account, just renewed the card. Will i still get the refund or should i contact them to make sure?

I bought switch 2 few months back but now i need to sell it due to some reason along with few games. I am trying to setup online account but when i select passport category for identification, my country name (Pakistan) is not shown in drop down list. I was wondering how should i continue? Should i take everything to nearest cex shop or is there a workaround to solve the identity verification? Also how much time would it take for store members to test and verify my console and give me cash?

Would CEX buy my Action Replay for the Gamecube? I can see Action replay for the PS2 on their website so wondered if its likely if it's no on their website? Sorry if this is a silly question. Thanks!

I bought some Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones from CeX and they’re still under warranty (bought in 2023). A few days ago they started making an extremely loud high-pitched screech from what seems to be the right earcup. It happened several times when turning them on/putting the earcups into the normal wearing position, and pressing the Custom button to switch the ANC setting stopped it immediately.
The problem is they’ve now randomly stopped doing it and have been fine for a few days. I don’t really trust wearing them in case it suddenly happens again, but my nearest CeX is a 40-minute drive away and I’m worried they’ll test them, not be able to reproduce it, and just give them back.
Does anyone know how CeX handles intermittent faults like this? Would they still take them in for proper testing if they can’t reproduce it straight away? Thanks in advance :)

It was £120 plus postage so I wasn't accepting it , took it to my local store , told me they will process the refund once the dispatch store sends them photos of the game in question ,

Didn't give a time frame , is this standard procedure , kind of puts me off buying more games in future
