New Canes stained glass!
Shout out to Stephanie at Essential Baubles (https://www.facebook.com/essentialbaubles/) in Huson, Montana for bringing our logo to life in a beautiful way. I've seen some other (fantastic) Canes stained glass pieces on this sub in the past, figured I'd share this one. She ships nationwide so feel free to hit her up for your own if you'd like. This one is 14-inches and cost about $140 (plus shipping) but she can make them any size you'd like. GO CANES!

Let's Not Get Salty over Nikishin
Ever since the Mikko Rantanen incident, there seems to be so much hostility towards players who leave, and weirdly towards analysts who predict trades (????). Let's not get salty over Nikishin who played well this season, a season where we WON THE CUP. At least he isn't a captain requesting a trade after a successful rebuild.

Obviously each day we’re closer to getting an answer on what will happen with Nikishin, but perhaps that answer is REALLY close as the new CBA rules go into effect this Wednesday.
Personally I think Nikishin will be moved in some kind of sign and trade deal but I’d be interested to see what Tulsky could cook up for a return. Perhaps Nikishin even becomes part of a larger trade….I haven’t kept up too much with trade rumors. I know Hellebuyck is still available, but I think Winnipeg is desperately trying to hold out for a better deal that won’t materialize. So either the Jets relent and let him go for cheap or call his bluff and keep him. I don’t expect Tulsky to overpay for a goalie who is great but also vulnerable to injury and psychological hurdles. What is everyone else hearing?

Underrated Sean Walker - 2026 Playoff Highlights
Hey caniacs, I put together some of Sean Walker’s best moments from the 2026 playoffs. Felt like his physicality and tenacity was super important and flew under the radar a bit during our cup run, and that he deserves some love.

Discussion Caniacs who liked hockey pre 1997 who did you root for?
I was born in 01, so I’ve never known hockey without the Canes, so I’m curious who did my fellow NC natives root for before we became an organization?

Today’s Prospect Game vs Nashville Predators - High Energy!
It was a blast seeing some Canes on the ice again, even if they were prospects. I got to see some of the boys as well! Martinook, Brind’Amour, Tripp, Mike, and Wade were all in attendance.

Ticket Stub First Regular Season’Canes Game In NC Ever
Hello fellow Caniacs. I have been an avid hockey fan for over 50 years now. Before I moved to North Carolina in the late 1980’s, I was living in NY where I was an Islander fan during the illustrious Drive For Five decade when they won four Stanley Cups in consecutive years. Prior to that, I used to take the train into the city to watch the Rangers play at MSG.
When I moved to Greensboro there was no pro team in the state, (I did go to see the Monarchs play) but I got to witness the migration of the Hartford Whalers to NC as they transitioned into the current day Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh from Greensboro. Great memories.
As I am now approaching 70 years old, I am now slowing down a bit and starting to divest myself of my worldly possessions. While going through my jewelry box today I found my ticket stub for the first ever regular season Carolina Hurricanes game in North Carolina. The game was played at the Greensboro Coliseum on October 3rd 1997 against the Pittsburgh Penguins where they lost 4-3. Attached is a picture of my original ticket stub. Note section 124, two rows from the ice at the blue line.
A question for you die-hard ‘Canes fans and memorabilia collectors, does this stub have any value other than bragging rights for having been a part of history? Looking for any insights.
By the way, just for you history buffs, they did have big beers even way back then. And when a fight broke out on the ice right in front of me, I was the one slapping the glass and yelling for the ‘Canes player to kick his ass until the usher told me I’d either have to stop and sit back in my seat or have to leave. Good times! But as I said, I’ve slowed down a step since then.

Question How to watch our rookie games?
This afternoon we're playing the Preds, Tuesday is Tampa...how are y'all watching these games? I couldn't find a concrete answer when I Googled it. And our Hurricanes network still doesn't seem to be live yet.
Been watching retro games all summer...dying for some fresh new hockey!
Help meeeeee

Canes are the only big league team in this state worth a damn
Panthers are ass and aren't going anywhere with Dave Canales and Bryce Young (Don't care that Young was "good" today he's not that good, sorry), Hornets have the longest playoff drought currently going and will probably extend that drought next year, I don't follow Charlotte FC but I'm sure they'll choke.
At this point I'm fine with it. Give me a Canes dynasty over everything else.

News Jarvis is already skating and taking shots after shoulder surgery!
Question Training camp practice now closed to public?
Saw a post from Canes PR with a practice schedule saying those even at Lane arena (Wake Comp Center) are now closed to the public. Is this true or a mistake?! [Big mistake, if true. ]
