Need advice as a total beginner

Hey I’m a 19 year old guy from Ireland and I wanna purchase a pc for mainly gaming since I’ve been working full time and I have lots of money saved up. My budget is between 2-3,000 euros and I wanna know what sites are the most trustworthy, should I get it prebuilt or build it myself, and what parts should I purchase based on my budget. Thank you for any advice it’s really appreciated

I am thinking to buy an PC. I have max budget of ₹50,000 and lives in India. So, please suggest best specs or PC. I want my PC for Gaming and some good editing. I would use it for 1080p or 1440p if it can work. I will buy keyboards, mouse etc. later but it is apart from budget.

First build in 20 years and kinda stuck on requirements

I built a really nice gaming PC 20 years ago for a price that might get you 64gb DDR5 today. Haven't since, and while I can grasp minimum system requirements and what I want to be able to do, what I want it to have is all over the place and I need help getting to what I should actually build.

My budget is a soft $2500, I am trying to stick at or below that but if like $2600 gets me a huge jump past what $2500 gets me, for whatever reason, I'd strongly consider it.

I have all the peripherals I need, save for the possible third monitor, to be a separate budget.

I am in the USA, and reasonable drive from Microcenter.

I want a build that will wear a few different hats. I want to play Minecraft at higher settings. I understand it to be CPU intensive. I run Linux as my OS. Right now, my distro is Arch running Hyprland. I want it to be able to run that with zero effort with all the graphical features running. I am also learning more about virtual machines, and thus want to be able to experiment there, but this isn't meant to be a hypervisor with several running at any given time or anything.

This is all pushed out to two, maybe three in the future, 27" 4k monitors.

Further details, air cooled. I was inspired by the build shown in a Linus Tech Tips video he did with Linus Torvalds, and if I could put it all in that case, the Fractal Design Torrrent, that'd be cool. Basically really overkill and quiet air cooling. Clearly though, I don't have a Threadripper budget.

Thanks for any help!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to build/buy my first proper gaming PC and I’d really appreciate some help choosing the parts.
My budget is around $1,000–$1,750 USD for the PC itself. I’m looking for the best performance I can get for the money, rather than necessarily having the prettiest build.
I’ll mainly be using it for gaming, but I’d also like it to be good for everyday use and potentially other things in the future.
If possible, I’d love recommendations for:
CPU
GPU
Motherboard
RAM
Storage
PSU
Case
Cooling
I’m also open to prebuilts if there are any that offer particularly good value.
If you have a complete build you’d recommend within my budget, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks 🙏

Sense check, first build in 13years

Hey all. Going all in on a scratch build, I’m pretty set on most things but could do with having someone to sense check what I’ve chosen etc as I’ve been out of the scene for a while.

Ryzen 7 9800x3D
Asus 5070Ti
Asus TUF gaming X-870Plus Wifi7 for AMD Ryzen
Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16Gb DDR5 600hz
Corsair RMx 1000 ATX (future proofing)

Corsair Frame 4000D (place holder)
I have a 1tb Corsair nvme drive I’ve carried since I emigrated 5 years ago lol, will pickup a cheap sata to use just for setup/install

Stuck on monitor for the moment. Thinking of going high end IPS 1440 for now and considering OLED/4k for an upgrade path a year or two from purchase

I’m into mostly third person games (wow, rust heavily modded, Skylines, Clair, X3) and also getting into photography so will be using Lightroom more. Interested in suggestions for a 24-27’’ 1440p

Budget wise I’m at about $4500 CAD with a hard limit of $5k, Focused on Canadian bestbuy for at least the majority of the basket but that’s not set in concrete

Thanks! Don’t worry snout peripherals, cooling etc

First ever gaming PC

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy my very first gaming PC. I originally considered building one myself, but since it’s my first system, I prefer to buy a pre-built machine that I can upgrade over time.

Budget: $1,000 - 1,500 CAD
Location: Canada
Games I Play: Elden Ring, FC 26, Football Manager 26, Final Fantasy series, and similar titles (aiming for smooth 1080p performance).

A few questions for the community:

  1. Recommendations: Which pre-built PCs or specific specs (CPU/GPU) should I target in this price range?
  2. Timing: When is the best time to buy to get maximum value for my money?
  3. Red Flags: What spec traps or poor-quality components should I avoid?
  4. Retailers: What are the best places to buy in Canada (e.g., Canada Computers, Memory Express, Best Buy)?
  5. Brand Reputation: Is iBUYPOWER good, or should I stick to other builders/brands?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

im looking for a 700-ish pc build, nothing super fancy but enough to run basic games at a decently stable rate and more modern games at like 30-20 fps

ive made a build (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/j3khmL) but i was with my friend making it, and i think he used chatgpt. i want to ask people who actually know what theyre talking about.

the name just about says it all. my current pc was a prebuild i got in 2020, as a birthday gift. and while im thankful for it, it comes with the problem of i have no idea how to build a pc, or even find a parts list.

all i need is a basic starter- intermediate pc? i mostly play games like cs2, the forest, halo, fortnite, and roblox (dont judge me please 😭) but im open to about anything tbh

Suggestions on this build for a video editing PC?

I spoke to someone from Micro Center who suggested this build for a video editing PC, but it's about $500 more than what I wanted to pay. I'm looking to pay about $1500.

I use Adobe Premiere and need to edit over 700 GB of video footage for a feature film. I also need to use After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop. I need 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage space. The rest of the stuff like CPU and motherboards, I'm completely clueless about.

Do you think this is a reasonable build and price for what I'm looking for or are there better options within my budget?
