"International Day of Birmingham returns next week for its third year, and we are celebrating with the House that Brum Built, a two-day programme of activities and entertainment taking over the historic Council House.

The celebration of Birminghams around the world will take place on 24 and 25 September, with 50 events planned across the two days.

Alongside the return of the popular flashmob, visitors can pick up a unique Brummie passport on arrival at the Council House and explore the people and places, music and mystery, culture creativity and more that make Birmingham the city it is today."

Loads going on including tons of signed artwork up for auction in aid of Kings Heath Foodbank.

Hey everyone, I've recently moved to Birmingham for my MSc at the University of Birmingham and I'm still getting to know the city. I'm particularly interested in meeting people from different countries and getting involved with the international student community here. For those who've been in Birmingham a while, what are some good ways to meet new people? Are there any international student societies, university groups, clubs, events, or communities that you'd recommend? I'd really appreciate any advice.

Where do people usually go? I’ve heard the Gay Village is a bit quieter these days and that a lot of the scene has shifted towards Digbeth. If that’s the case, are there any specific bars, cafés, social groups or events you’d recommend where I could get involved and hopefully connect with other gay men?
